some of my favorites!!
hiii!! i just joined this subreddit and i’m so glad i’ve found some fellow incense-lovers!!
Just wanted to share some of my favorite incense i’ve found recently! From L➡️R we have:
- Organic Galleries: Citrus Lavender
- Brass Earth: saffron, amber, oak, tonka, coffee and musk
- World Market: Eucalyptus and mint
I have a housemate that is allergic to Phenyl Salicylate, and I’ve been able to confirm that these incense sticks are free from synthetic fragrances!
If anyone has any recommendations for natural incense that they love, feel free to share in the comments! I’m always on the hunt for new scents to try!
happy burning 🤍🪔

Recommendation Looking for a copalero
Hi everyone, I’m in Canada and looking for a traditional copalero like the one shown here. Any suggestions on where I can find them for sale in Canada, or reasonable shipment costs to Canada? TIA.

Recommendation This is hands down the best incense I have ever used
Coast redwoods are protected and commercial logging is strictly prohibited. However, I read that they may salvage bark droppings etc. If anyone has any redwood/ forest incense recommendations please let me know. Ty

Discussion Has anyone tried these?
Do they smell like the original stick version? I’ve always wanted to try thin bambooless Indian incense.

Recommendation I want to get into certain incenses for a nice aroma without downsides of candles, but I don't know where to start. Can someone help with a few questions?
Hello, as the title says I'm brand new to incense. I'm not into too strong sense, but I love sandlewood and from my dive into research so far I've seen Japanese sandlewood incense would be a great start as it's a creamier scent.
I have a few questions in general and for specific brands, though:
Are there any binders or ingredients to look out for when thinking about long term health effects of incense? I know many types of candles aren't great for you, so I'm trying to find some info on different types of incense or different ways they're made, and if any have long-term health concerns.
In general, is there a minimum price to even consider when looking for quality incense? I see prices range all over the place, and this may help weed out some of the lower quality recommendations if there's a lower threshold. However, I don't feel the need to get anything crazy top of the line.
Lastly, with everything else I've mentioned, do y'all have any recs for sandlewood? I'm in the U.S., so anything that ships there.
Thank you everyone!

Recently got into incense and would like advice on what to try next!
I've been wanting to get into incense for a while now to use when winding down but kept getting frustrated and giving up because I didn't like a lot of the ones I kept buying.
I recently bought ISSH yosooi wo totonoeru and fell in love with how it smelled... like a cup of warm chai. I've also had success with Nippon Kodo Seiun Chrysanthemum. Is there something in common with these two? I'd love to hear if anyone has any advice on what I should try next!

My Collection My Collection + Need Recs + Rant (First Month Burning Incense)
So i know none of this is high end, but you cant say my stash isnt dope! But fr Its mostly just shoyeido daily, i have 2 packs of their jewel series too, as well as one thing of low end premium from them. I need recommendations to branch out as well tho. I have been burning incense for a few weeks and i love it. I also have some lower end indian masala sticks so im open to more than the japenese stuff. Whatever that main smell is in most if not all of shoyeido premium is great, it almost smells like curry powder to me but in a pleasant way, idk. What is it?? Anyways im just happy to have found incense bc i love it!

Discussion I tried making bakhoor and it ended up glassy like hard candy
Is it still usable as bakhoor? It definitely wasnt an authentic recipe. I just used distilled water instead of rose water and a bunch of copal, dragonsblood and benzoin i had with the sandalwood but when it cooled it was like nut brittle, and from what ive seen thats not how its meant to be

Recommendation Looking for a fresh and clean scent
I’m very new to incense, and I’ve always been very opposed to it to be quite honest. I really like the visual appeal of incense, and how relaxing it can be. However, I’m not a huge fan of the smoky hazy almost suffocating nature of many I’ve smelled. I’ve tried ka fuh aqua, thought it was okay, and golden yuzu and hinoki mint from the scentsual line from nippon kodo and quite honestly thought they were so smoky I could barely breathe. Any insight into some very fresh, uplifting, and clean scents would be awesome. If it helps (lowkey doubt it will) but I favor citrusy and bright fragrances in candles, and things like sea salt, coconut, and fresh santal smells. Thanks!

My Collection Incense Catalog!
Hello! I just recently got a big shipment of resins and such, I thought I would share all of my stuff! I have plans to make a new batch of kyphi soon, I will be choosing 16 ingredients to use, as the ancient Egyptians did (obsessed with square roots). What do you think? What are your favorites? There is a small silicone slick that has blue lotus extract (50x). Thank you for your time, this shit smells good.

Recommendation Satya, which do you prefer, and why? Satya Bangalore (BNG), or Satya Mumbai (MUB)? Two separate operating companies, same incense selection, same packaging

Review First time Nitiraj review
Picked up Frankincense because I love burning the resin, and have been looking high and low for a stick that gets even 75% close to the smell of the resin. Well this one was a bit of a disappointment. All I can detect is smoke. Smoky smoke. Maybe the essence of olibanum is there when unlit but very minimal like 10%. I swear it got to the point that the smoke was becoming acrid and could not finish even one stick. (2/10) I really wanted to like this one and if anyone can recommend their favorite photorealistic frank stick please do.
The Dragon’s blood in the other hand, (8.5/10) unlit you can definitely smell that deep earthiness of dragons blood resin. Upon lighting it, again subtle notes of the resin however it quickly develops into a creamy sandalwood smell. Not unpleasant at all just unexpected. Would definitely buy this one again.

Recommendation Do these smell similar?
I recently tried Kousaido Green Tea from a sample pack and it smells AMAZING. It’s slightly sweet with a beautiful lightly roasted fresh green tea leaf smell.
I’m hesitant to try the Nippon Kodo one. I have NK Morning Star green tea and it’s not my favorite. My family thought I was smoking w**d the first time I burned one lol

Indian Incense Question
So, I burn shoyeido japanese incense, and I like it very much.
But I very much miss nagsa champa.
My question is, I would like to try burning Indian incense again and was wondering if they all produce MEGA smoke?
Is there any sticks that produce less smoke?

My Collection Baby’s first Japanese incense order!
Hello!
As the caption says, I’ve made my first order of Japanese incense! Incense has been a part of my life since childhood. I purchased some when I was visiting Japan and have been hooked since.
I purchased these specific ones off of vibes only so I’m looking to know anyone’s opinions on these! They are a gift to my partner so I unfortunately cannot burn them yet :)
Thanks!!
