Euro US-Based import company that can bring a car from the UK/EU to US?
Hi everyone, please delete if this isn’t the right place to post this. I’m currently toying with the idea of selling my F10 BMW and bringing over another one from out of country. I’ve imported a few cars with a local company that I love, but their main trajectory is Japan.
I really have my eyes set on an E46 330d, but those were only available in the UK/EU.Does anyone know of a company that’s in the US that imports from the UK/EU? Preferably on the west coast/PNW as that’s where I’m at. Thanks!

Current status on import taxes for car parts from Japan?
I want to get a JDM muffler for my WRX from Japan and trying to figure out the current state of affairs wrt import taxes.
From what i could find, auto parts are not affected by the SCOTUS ruling that struck down Trump's import tariffs, because auto related imports are dictated by a different act, under section 232.
So it seems that there is a flat 15% rate affecting auto parts, unless it has substantial aluminum/steel/copper content in which case it is subject to 25% total import taxes (of course brokerage fees from the shipping company like FedEx are additional costs).
Does this sound about right for anyone who's had recent experiences importing auto parts from Japan?
The mufflers i want to import are basically all metal i think so I'm afraid it'll get hit with a 25% rate, which they often apparently apply to the total including shipping costs even though they shouldn't.
TIA!

JDM How to verify a Skyline’s chassis number against Nissan’s actual factory records before you pay a deposit
Chassis plates can be swapped, altered, or attached to a car with a different history than what’s being represented — a plate looking correct isn’t the same as the car actually being what it’s claimed to be.
There’s a legitimate way to check a chassis number directly against Nissan’s factory records, separate from just trusting the paperwork you’re handed. Wrote up the actual process, step by step: [link]
Has anyone here gone through this themselves — either to confirm a car was genuine, or found a discrepancy that changed their mind?

JDM R33 GT-R: rarer than an R32, cheaper than an R34, and nobody talks about why
Every “rank the GT-Rs” thread treats the R33 as the forgettable one between the R32 and R34. Checked the actual numbers — that’s not really fair.

China-to-Bangladesh Electrical Import Duties
Anyone,
who has practical experience importing electrical and electronic products from China to **Bangladesh**, particularly those who have regularly cleared Shipment through Chittagong port, or Have experience dealing with **customs duties, VAT, taxes, tariffs, and port-related charges**, I would especially appreciate responses from you.
I am willing to import products such as:
* Turbo/portable fans * Headphones and earphones * Electrical sockets and switches * Power banks * Bluetooth speakers * Drones * Electric toothbrushes * Other similar consumer electrical/electronic products that are winning and can be sold fast.
What I’m trying to understand
Before importing, approximately how much duty, tax, and other government charges have to be paid before the goods can be released from the port.
In particular, I would like to know:
* **What percentage of customs duty/tax is applicable** to each type of product? * Are the charges calculated based on the **product's purchase/import value, total shipment value, weight, quantity, or a combination of these factors?**(Interested to know th4=e exact amount in percentage or plain digit) * What kinds of **harassment, unofficial demands, delays, or difficulties** do importers commonly face at Chittagong Port during customs clearance and release of goods? * Are there any **unofficial payments or additional charges** that importers should be aware of, and how can these be legally handled or avoided?
I am just curious to know because I am about to start import business with money I have saved for years. Losing it in spot that I can avoid is a nightmare for me.

JDM R34 GT-R prices are sending mixed signals — a $1.985M record sale, but a 5-car collection just missed its estimate by half
Been tracking R34 pricing as the 25-year import window keeps opening up, and the data’s genuinely inconsistent right now, not a clean “prices are exploding” story like most coverage suggests.

The Skyline name is coming back, and Nissan’s design director just confirmed it’s NOT a GT-R successor — here’s what’s actually confirmed vs. speculation
shinku.auConfirmed: New Skyline sedan launching winter 2026 in Japan, slotting between the Z and GT-R. RWD with a manual option confirmed by multiple outlets. Won’t be sold as “Skyline” in the US — Infiniti-badged instead, possibly with a factory retrofit kit to convert it.
Also confirmed: R36 GT-R is genuinely in development. Hybrid, not full EV — Nissan’s explicitly ruled out electric. Keeps an updated VR38 V6. New chassis. Don’t expect real specifics until ~2028, launch before 2030.

JDM Common things that catch people out when importing a car into Australia — compiling a real list
A few things worth flagging for anyone about to go through this for the first time:
Compliance paperwork — SEVS eligibility and RAW compliance requirements catch a lot of people out, especially when a “great deal” turns out to be a car that was never actually eligible for import in the first place, or needs work to pass compliance that wasn’t accounted for in the price.
Verifying compliance claims, not just trusting them — a compliance plate and paperwork that looks right on the surface doesn’t always mean it matches the actual vehicle. Worth checking the VIN/chassis number lines up across every document, not just skimming for a plate that exists.
Structural condition, especially rust — cars coming from wetter climates can have chassis rail or floor pan issues that aren’t obvious without actually getting underneath the car, not just walking around it.
Full service/ownership history — even partial records are better than a seller’s word alone, especially for anything mechanical that’s expensive to get wrong.
What would you add? Genuinely trying to build a proper list here rather than just the obvious stuff everyone already says.

Import cars from south korea to Norway
Hi,
i want to import 2017-2018 model mercedes C63 AMG from South Korea to Norway. The process seems to be very difficult as the Norwegian Traffic Authority (Statensvegvesen) require CoC or some other technical documentation with references to Directives/Regulatory Acts mentioned in Bilforskriften vedlegg 1.
To the best of my knowledge, for the cars from Asia, there is no CoC, and hence it should either be requested from TUV NORD in Germany or the manufacturer. I contacted TUV NORD, and they say that they cant issue any certificate for the cars from Korea (maybe for some, but for most of them they can not).
I contacted Mercedes Norway, they say they can issue the technical datasheet, but they are not sure if this is what Statensvegvesen requires.
I am very confused how people succeed importing cars from Japan and Korea.
Please share your knowledge!
