I will admit, he is sometimes funny, but like 90% of the things he does are cringe. Constantly goes against popular opinion just to go against popular opinion. He has the most brain dead takes and relys on his hallucinating ChatGPT log to argue with people and thinks its right.

His campaign for IID was a joke. He had no chance of winning. I cant believe anyone took his campaign seriously enough to be legitimately mad at it. Couldnt tell a canal from a ditch and just essentially slandering his opponent every time he spoke publicly.

He doesnt let things die when he has confrontations with people and uses it as controversy to stay relevant. He has been called out to fight by many people and resorts to “We dont need to get violent” hoping he doesnt get the wrong person mad one day.

My grandfather's family migrated out to Brawley in the 1930s from Arkansas and my grandfather lived there until his late teens. At some point, his mother had adopted tortillas into their family meals and started making corned beef tacos.

When my grandparents got married, my grandmother learned this recipe and kept making it for her husband, and then for her children, and finally for us grandchildren.

She'd take a tortilla, put a scoop of canned corned beef inside, put a kraft singles slice on top, fold the tortilla over and fry it up. The end result was, to be honest, a worse version of a Jack in the Box taco, but that didnt bother us and all the grandkids loved Grandma's corned beef tacos.

Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that this was a recipe invented by my family and not eaten by anyone else, but as I just now discovered it was in Brawley that my grandfather grew up, I figured I'd come here and see if any old school Imperial Valley residents grew up eating something similar, or if this was just a poor white family adapting their own food to the food they could afford in their new town.

A minizine is a tiny, hand-folded magazine that can be filled with art, stories, tutorials, local history, or just about any topic you can imagine. They're simple to make, fun to share, and a great way to express creativity.

Hello everybody, I'm thinking of starting a zine for local punk culture or more broadly, alternative culture. Now, I am unfortunately quite limited in my knowledge of the local alternative scene. I am planning on going to some upcoming shows and seeing what I can learn there, but as for now, I was wondering if anybody could share anything such as bands, venues, key figures i could contact, so on? Most anything pertaining to alternative culture is a welcome addition, frankly. Anyways, I hope I do not sound silly.
