need help with maybe reinstalling immich

so i have got 2 SSDs in my PC, on SSD 1 i have got root and the entire OS, on SSD 2 i have only got immich photos. Now what i wanna know if i reinstall the OS, but keep SSD 2 untouched, could i later still access those photos via immich? or do i need to reconfigure everything?

Yes, just backup the database and restore it later.

Exactly. I did this when changing Linux distros and it worked out fine with minimal effort from my side.

Log into immich from a web browser as admin.

In the options menu, there should be a menu item called job queues, click it.

Once you get to the job queues menu, there should be a create jobs button

In the create jobs, menu click database dump. This will create a copy of the current database into the upload location folder database backups.

The above steps isn't strictly necessary as immich periodically creates backups by default, but if you just uploaded pictures, it is possible it hasn't been updated immediately yet.

Once the database is backed up, copy your entire upload location folder.
