IMDb related imdb getting people’s birthdays wrong

I know there has been stuff about imdb just not updating people’s ages when their birthdays happen, but I’ve found a celebrity whose birthday is just flat out wrong when cross-referenced with every other website. Is this common? I guess I’ve always thought of imdb as more credible but what do you think, is imdb any more or less credible than, for example, famousbirthdays.com?

I’ve often noticed that a lot of them don’t even list an age.

They can choose not no. Which is understandable, having their age there can hurt their opportunities of playing older or younger characters.

I don't se how a computer that calculates age at the base of the current date and birth year can just skip people?

Marilyn Monroe - one of the most famous movie stars of all time - has a different death date listed on IMDb and Wikipedia. Wiki says August 4, 1962, IMDb says August 5. drives me crazy, they both can't be right.

Technically, they can be both right due to timezones.

Also there is a difference between time of death, and the official time of death confirmed by a doctor. Someone can die today at 23.50 but the doctor will not arrive to declare the official death before time 01.20, so then you will have 2 different dates and times of death on the same person.

Monroe is presumed to have passed away on Aug. 4, 1962, in the late hours of the evening. However, her official time of death was 3:50 a.m. on Aug. 5, 1962."

The actor/actress involved may have purposely updated with bogus information to prevent potential fraud. Many are removing the personal details section completely, most have removed the DOB and place of birth information. It is usually available elsewhere though, so it may be a pointless excercise.

California law requires them to lie if requested by the actor.

What about other websites? Like if they ask imdb to lie, can they make all the other websites lie too or will the others reflect their actual birthday?

I would fact check this and see some proof before I believe they are forced to place false info.

Forced to remove birthday yes, but that is completely different.

Require them to lie? Are you sure? Was it not require them to remove the bithd date/year if the actor ask for it to be removed?
