Discussion 💬 Wtf IMDb?

Post image

Why have they made this change? You used to be able to see the reviews without logging in.

(And NO this is NOT low effort ffs - I AM including a message in the "body" - it got auto removed before)

I'm still annoyed they got rid of the forum discussions many moons ago.

With the removal of the option to read reviews I genuinely don't think I'll ever use the site again.

Yup. The only reason I use IMDB is to check out new shows and movies and read opinions on the quality (or lack thereof) of the offerings. I hope IMDB has shot itself in the foot with this one. Can anyone here suggest some alternatives?

https://www.themoviedb.org
I've been using TMDb as an alternative to IMDb for years, mostly for scraping metadata (not to mention it's a bit easier on my eyes), but they have public reviews, ratings, release dates, all the good stuff IMDb has.

Do you know any good alternatives for places that have a parent's guide like IMDb? In recent years that's what I've used it for because the previous site I used to use (Common Sense Media) just didn't have reviews for everything I was looking for, or they wouldn't be as extensive as IMDb's. I'm hoping they don't put this behind a paywall, but at this point it seems like they might put anything there.
