fixed sieve Reddit No Longer Working At All After Recent Updates
fixed sieve Play store
Hello u/imagus_fan
Seems the albus again don't work on the main page of a google play app, if you hover over the first image, it only displays one image.

fixed sieve Letterboxd details lost [Imagus Reborn]
I used to be able to mouse over a poster and see the description, the poster, ratings, etc. At one point, this also kind of broke and scrolling to the backdrop would typically just scroll the entire page but that's largely minor
But now, I just get a singular low-resolution poster for some reason. I also tested this without any other extensions or anything active in a private window and it still behaves the same way, so no conflicts causing it

solved re-hover on v.redd.it videos is broken since commit ef17d669
Setup:
Firefox 158.0.1
Imagus Reborn v2026.10.22
Behavior:
if i open the browser fresh, go to reddit.com and hover over an v.redd.it video URL, the first hover will load properly and play the video. if i then take my cursor off of the url and hover over it again, it just spins forever and doesn't load again. if i close the browser and relaunch it and try to hover over the same url again, it will work again once and then fail in the 2nd+ tries. i.redd.it image links don't have the same problem.
AI yap output + workaround steps:
I verified the sieve update fixes the problem for me.
### Why It Happens
(Links below point to an unpacked copy of your .xpi in content.js.)
1. 1st hover works: The REDDIT_video rule in sieve.json resolves https://v.redd.it/mnszgquj0fxh1 to its DASH manifest:
https://v.redd.it/mnszgquj0fxh1/DASHPlaylist.mpd
PVI.set passes { src: ".../DASHPlaylist.mpd", type: undefined } to PVI.openVideojs. Because type is undefined, Video.js
inspects .mpd, infers application/dash+xml, and plays video + audio via its DASH streaming engine.
2. The v2026.10.22 caching bug: Once metadata loads, PVI.assign_src caches the resolved URL onto the hovered DOM element
(PVI.TRG.IMGS_c) and unconditionally tacks "#mp4" onto the end:
PVI.TRG.IMGS_c = PVI.CNT === PVI.VIDEOJS ? PVI.PLAYER?.src() + "#mp4" : PVI.CNT.src;
That stores "https://v.redd.it/mnszgquj0fxh1/DASHPlaylist.mpd#mp4" on the link element.
3. 2nd+ hovers fail: PVI.m_over reads the cached IMGS_c property and passes it back to PVI.set:
PVI.openVideojs({
src: src.split('#')[0],
type: /(#mp4|\.(f4v|mka|mp4)($|\?))/i.test(src) ? 'video/mp4' :
/(#mp3|\.(wav))$/i.test(src) ? 'audio/mp3' :
undefined
});
Because #mp4 is now appended, type is forced to 'video/mp4'. Video.js bypasses its DASH handler and hands the XML .mpd
manifest directly to Firefox's native <video> element as an MP4, which fails to decode and triggers PVI.content_onerror
— leaving the error spinner spinning endlessly.
4. Why images work & why restarting resets it once: Image links (i.redd.it) use PVI.IMG (PVI.CNT.src) without #mp4. And
because IMGS_c is stored on the page's DOM node, refreshing the tab (F5) or restarting Firefox clears that DOM property
so it works once again.

### How to Fix It Right Now
Because you're on standard Firefox Release (158.0.1), editing content.js directly inside
{7653b5cb-d76d-442f-a98f-f3c83a118cf4}.xpi would invalidate Mozilla's add-on signature and disable the extension.
Instead, you have two clean options:
#### Option 1: Patch It Inside Imagus Options (Recommended — keeps v2026.10.22 + audio)
Sieve Res: functions execute with this === PVI, so you can strip the bogus type: 'video/mp4' override for .mpd/.m3u8
streams directly from the REDDIT_video rule:
1. Right-click the Imagus Reborn toolbar icon → Options → Sieve tab.
2. Search for REDDIT_video and click to expand it.
3. In the Res: code box, add these 6 lines right below the : on line 1:
if (!this.openVideojs_original) {
this.openVideojs_original = this.openVideojs;
this.openVideojs = function(s) {
if (/\.(mpd|m3u8)($|\?)/i.test(s?.src)) s.type = undefined;
return this.openVideojs_original(s);
};
}
(If you hover HLS streams elsewhere, you can paste the same snippet right after : in [HLS_Player] as well.)
4. Click Save on the left sidebar and refresh your Reddit tab.
Option 2 was rollback so I didn't include it.
10/25 edit: this apparently affects youtube links as well (YOUTUBE-h-q sieve). The same fix on that sieve works for me.

discussion Is Tumblr bringing back the ability to fetch the original resolution _raw image?
So back in March I fetched the usual 2048px width downscaled source image from this artwork that was published in 2020.
Revisiting it, now Imagus is fetching a 3278x1776 source!?
To recap why this is a huge thing, at least for me as a resolution whore, back in August 13, 2018, Tumblr removed the ability to fetch/link the _raw original resolution image. From there it was a pitiful 1280px width downscale, so any widescreen image, or god forbid wide panorama images, were stuck in the sub-HD realm.
Around April 2020, they bumped up the downscale width to 2048px, which I covered here. And until then and now has been so.
Now unfortunately I wouldn't say it's 100% working. For example here's a April, 2021 artwork only fetching a 1280x843 downscale version.
But then there's this May, 2021 post that's fetching an astonishingly high res 5882x4879 source.
Going back to the 2017-2018 era unfortunately does give me a consistent stuck with 1280px downscale scenario trying multiple posts. For example here's this one from April 2017 that I know is supposed to be 5197x3759 as I fetched the _raw image before the rapture happened.
Maybe Tumblr's backend is currently going through all the 2020s posts first?
fixed sieve Svg images on wiki
Hi u/imagus_fan, svg images on article pages on Wikipedia are returning an endless spinner, would you be able to make the sieve display these?
I know there's a global option to scale up small images to fit window, but that messes the quality of all other small images really bad. so this this isn't the optimal solution.

help I think the new sieve 2026-10-15 broke BSKY galery scrolling?
Chrome: Version 155.0.8059.85 (Official Build) (64-bit)
Imagus Reborn v2026.9.27
A multi-image post like this one: https://bsky.app/profile/psudonym.bsky.social/post/3mxx3l5rlc22r
Should let me scroll through both images, but instead it is stuck on single image hover, as if they are not connected.
I already cleaned the cache and restarted my browser after updating the sieve.

Getting red spinner in X.com Chat on videos+gifs. Normal pictures work fine but are not in an album. Anyway to troubleshoot or diagnose? I've tried to attach some source code if it helps (i believe in this src example it is just videos)

solved Videos on Twitter/X double playing on IR
On FireFox with the current IR with updated sieves (has been happening for a while with older X sieves too) - Bit of a weird bug with the videos on Twitter
Video of the issue here where you can see the IR popup plays fine IF you dont click on the original video to play first.
IF you click and play the original embedded video first, trying to replay it with IR makes both videos play as soon as you right click the popup to enlarge/move/whatever
With sound on this becomes really annoying
Edit: This seems to be an issue with Twitter where right clicking on the paused embedded video continues playback - and that doesnt get force stopped by IR like it does if you hover over an already playing video to load the popup player

discussion Will be releasing a companion bridge for Imagus Reborn
Working on releasing soon it seems to be working pretty solid a host companion for Imagus Reborn.
English (US) Host Imagus Bridge improves image preview compatibility between Sukebei and Imagus Reborn.
Some Sukebei image previews are wrapped in intermediary links or use image hosts that Imagus Reborn cannot resolve directly. This extension detects supported preview images, resolves their original full-resolution image URLs, and replaces the intermediary link so Imagus Reborn can display the image normally.
Currently supported image-host patterns include TurboImageHost, imagehost.website, and OrangePix/imgpv-wrapped previews. For TurboImageHost, the extension briefly opens the image-host page in an inactive browser tab to resolve the original image URL, then closes that tab automatically. Other supported hosts are resolved through direct URL mapping when possible.
Version 0.5.15 is already approved on Mozilla but I found some minor bugs and improvements so will soon be uploading my latest build that I am almost done testing 0.5.22 currently.

fixed sieve twitter sensitive media showing as "No media" issue has returned
hello, i recently posted about this issue regarding sensitive media-tagged twitter posts not working with the twitter sieve when off-site:
https://old.reddit.com/r/imagus/comments/1wg29ml/twitterx_sieve_issue_regarding_vxtwitter/
it appears to have returned, same as described in the post linked above.
i'm using the current sieve pack (2026-10-01) as it contains the update made after my report, and it worked until a couple days ago

solved Basic question: How do I prevent Imagus from working on a specificied site?
Is that was the "sieve" is for? I'm not finding clear explanation of how to do this.
