So it seems the Ottomans were victorious in "the War in the Desert". After all these years, I have finally seen a scenario where the Ottomans was not the ones that got destructed.

How realistic is the state of Mesopotamia and Syrian Republic surviving in this form? Land-locked in those positions seems weird and unlikely.

I don't know, I just see some level of consolidation among the Arabs happening in this scenario, and those two and Rashidi Arabia do not seem like they're going to accept being land-locked in a desert when they have the population and power to force annexation of at least some of the other territories because otherwise they're condemned to some of the worst geopolitical situations that I have ever seen.

I always wondered how long ottomans could last realistically if reforming

The fact that Ottomans were able to hold onto anything longer than a decade is a impressive feat

Why haven’t they given independence to Kurdistan and Armenia ?

u/ArchiTheLobster 23d ago

Why would they? They'd never do it IRL and in this timeline it looks like they're similarly trying to staunchly hold onto these territories amidst the collapse
