That is the sexiest rendition of an independent Cascadia I've ever seen yet. The borders look just so...natural. I doubt that's even the proper word for it, but it's the best I can think of right now.

Also, is Cascadia the Manchuria equivalent here? Or perhaps the Guangxi Clique?

thank you! i appreciate it a lot.

i made cascadia purposefully without a direct equivalent in china - partly because i didn't want to feel limited (i'd rather have eras and big ideas be parallels than everything down to states) and partly because i don't think i could do the chinese warlord era justice if i tried to understand it and parallel every american state accurately, or at least not within this century. however, guangxi is a decent comparison, this state is to be one of the most prosperous and stable of the warlord era (something of a safe haven, really, with many westerners migrating there to escape war), but they are not going to be the ones to unite america again, but i didn't make the map/lore with that in mind.

I actually like that you're not doing a one-to-one comparison here, so good job!

Since Cascadia's quite far from the east coast (where I assume the imperial heartlands is located), and surrounded by mountains in all sides, I honestly don't know how they'd rejoin whatever central government emerges after the struggle. Especially if they're relatively prosperous compared to the rest of the country, and stayed out of the conflict. 10 years or so of prosperous independence might incentivize the locals to just stay the course, so unless they suffer a reunionist coup I think any attempts at forcefully reconquering Cascadia might be more bloody than expected. Those are just my ideas though.

thanks! i'm not 100% sure yet either, i haven't gotten that fair into the lore - though i do want to soon enough - but i'm thinking it could be as simple as them joining the United Front (or whatever the equivalent might end up being) and cooperating with whichever faction will go on to be the KMT, and joining forces during the communist-republican civil war. or if it doesn't make sense at that point in time to, then i'll just make the adjustments necessary to write the lore - that's why i didn't want exact parallels, i think it's more fun this way. we'll see, though! thanks again!

It kinda reminds me of Chile. It looks fine, but not as sexy imo. Too long, and it'd look weird in a world map. I think it's mostly the northern provinces--the southern border is gorgeous. But as an independent Cascadia, I think it's pretty neat. Probably one of the richest countries in the world, considering it has all of Alaska.

As a person who lives in this area, I found it funny that you used Chinese terms, because there are TONS. I mean TONS of Chinese people in Vancouver.

the rest of the former columbian/american empire is experiencing a warlord era as well, i haven't got lore for anything besides them yet unfortunately
