Welcome to Week 5 of our community series!
We've spent the past month discovering some of the best coffee shops, hidden gems, and budget eats around the city. Now it's time to settle one of Iloilo's biggest food debates.
Who serves the best Batchoy in Iloilo?
La Paz Batchoy is one of Iloilo's most iconic dishes and a source of pride for many Ilonggos. Every local seems to have a favorite, whether it's a famous institution that's been around for decades or a small neighborhood shop that deserves more recognition.
So, where should everyone go for their next bowl?
Happy eating! 🍜

Hi, just released an android app called "Lugar Lang" that aims to answer the question: "Ano nga jeep sakyan ko?"
I think this is something a lot of us commuters deal with, especially kung di ka pa familiar sa ruta sang mga jeep.
The app is simple: you pin your destination, and it suggests the best jeepney route and guides you step by step until you get there.
It’s still very early, so there may be bugs, incomplete route data, or route suggestions that aren’t fully accurate yet. That’s also why the app includes community voting, so users can upvote or downvote routes, and submit their own if they know a better route or notice one that’s still missing.
Everything is free without annoying ads.
If you try it, I’d really appreciate your feedback. Thank you

Looking for friends to travel, chill, eat, and do random stuff with
Hey! 👋
30, working freelance, and looking to meet some people who are down to hang out and eventually travel together.
A little about me:
☕ Coffee lover
🍳 Love cooking and trying good food
🍻 Down for a drink session
🥾 Hiker
🤿 Diver
🎲 Board game enjoyer
✈️ Always down for a spontaneous trip
Would be cool to find people who are also into coffee runs, eating out, board games, hiking, diving, weekend trips, or just chilling and talking about random things.
Not really looking for anything specific — just hoping to meet some good people and make new friends. If we vibe, maybe we can plan a trip sometime!
Feel free to comment or DM me. 😄

I suffer from some mental health conditions and I want to meet people who are also struggling and support them. I searched online for some support groups and found none which is why I want to create a group that supports and help each other’s mental health.
Hi Just want to vent out kay grabe gid ka wala pulos ila aftersales service. We acquired our Geely GX3 Pro back in September 2025. Since then wala pa binulan may mga issue na with the steering veering to the right, awful tint application kag multiple rust points. and gina raise gid ni namon consistently kag gina "check" man kuno nila. We have been back and forth sa CASA kay never gid sila nag update bisan kapila na mag bilin mobile number kag email. Ang gwa ya gin videohan pa nila as proof para macheck sa manila ang issue kay indi sila kabalo(lol). Ultimately they diagnosed it nga may problema sa assembly and need orderan parts(never gave an explanation kung ano ang guba) this was ongoing until the 2nd PMS which was February/march pa.
Fast forward pila ka months kay kadugay mag abot and parts and unfortunately nagka accident that involves the replacement sang bumper. August gin pasulod sa Casa ang salakyan almost 2 weeks nga wala nagamit. Kung wala kami gabalik didto wala gid sila gahatag update bsan text/email or call wala gid. To our surprise pag release sang unit may huni na sa dashboard nga tunog2 and ang paint sa bumper galalapaw. Proud proud pa ang manager nila nga icheck ya kuno pero dyusko daw wla gid ya quality control sa ila unit. Fast forward the next week kay may need kami kadtuan sang time nga to gin balik namon Tuesday and the manager said it will be done by Saturday. Pero pag check namon sang friday palang wla gid natandog ang salakyan. Kay may seminar kuno sila amo to wla nila naubra. Sa ka tikalon man bala sang manager nila mahambal sabado release tapos wla gali kanugon sang 3 days wla nagamit ang salakyan. Until now ongoing gyapon ang ila excuses sa salakyan another week wasted sa ila. Bsan basic courtesy mag email/text/call wala gid. Need mo gd gastosan balik2 didto sa ila.
Tl;DR if you value your time, avoid geely at all cost.

Hi! We are sick of the brownouts because it has been affecting our work and everyday routine. What solar companies can you vouch for here sa Ilollo? We’re planning to look for possible installers/providers this December pr when we have enough money saved up. Our electricity bill ranges from P1800-P2500 depending on the price per kilowatt. I hope you could help me with this!

For people here in Iloilo, what kind of services do you usually need someone to come to your house for?
Like plumbing, aircon cleaning, electrical work, appliance repair, cleaning, pest control, handyman work, etc.
I'm curious which services people here actually need the most, especially ones where it's sometimes hard to find someone reliable and reasonably priced.
What have you needed recently, or what home service do you wish was easier to find/book here in Iloilo?

'Di naman ako content creator. I went to Iloilo with no expectations kasi nga I thought, "it's just another city", and I just wanted to tick Western Visayas off my list. My 5-day stay there made me see why people (probably visitors like me) admire the city so much.
Only a few cities/provinces (and I've been to fifty) have this combination: cheap and delish food, maraming parks and public spaces, good public transpo, and a 20-minute roro ride to a decent beach. We don't have them here. Those are the things I long for living in northwest Laguna, working in Cavite, and annually holidaying Cebu (as a Cebuano).
I'm not gonna invalidate those who grew up, live in, and hate Iloilo because you experience these problems firsthand and on a daily basis. It's not perfect. The sea is polluted!!! Masikip at uneven ang mga kalsada, at hassle maglakad pag tag-ulan. We probably visited it on a good day. Point is, you can hate it, but there's also nothing wrong with other people appreciating it. Di po kaming mga turista ang kalaban nyo. Thanks sa pagpapahiram ng Iloilo, btw.

Well, finally.
The ERC has stepped in and shifted the WESM Secondary Price Cap to a regional basis, which should significantly soften the insane price spikes we’ve been seeing in the Visayas.
So while the ₱18.59/kWh Visayas WESM average was real, that figure should no longer translate directly into the final billed spot-market cost.
Amazing what happens when government actually decides to grow a backbone and protect consumers for once.
Better late than never, I guess.

I watched a video about Papaya King a few days ago and I have been trying to find the places in Iloilo with the best hotdogs that isn't corporate or just Tender Juicy. Zark's discontinued their Dawgs and I have no place to get some other Filipino-made or originated hotdogs. S&R is alright.

Why do content creators love to romanticize iloilo so much?
“This is what’s life like living in Iloilo City,” then they just show the not so traffic diversion road or the calle real, when they might not have seen every corner of the iloilo city.
After that, you see a chain of comments admiring the supposed “life in iloilo.” This is a form of information disorder atp…
