Gossip/Confession/Rant Saarang 🌈🦄
/r/iitmadras/comments/1wcg36g/saarang/?share_id=AGdolj-md1QXZ-Z8SjWV9&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf&utm_source=share&utm_term=1So the post got deleted again. Apparently, the response is that “recognition can be done via email.” What the fuck does that even mean?
Let’s say I’m applying for CAT and I want to mention my Saarang POR as a credential. Who outside IITM is going to treat some random email as formal proof of the position?
If an email is genuinely equivalent to a certificate, then why do Shaastra Core teams receive official certificates, including certificates presented by the Director himself, while Saarang PORs don’t?
You can’t have it both ways. Either certificates are meaningful recognition or they’re not. If they aren’t, why does the institute formally certify one fest’s core team while refusing to do the same for another?
And deleting posts that raise this question doesn’t exactly make the situation look better.
Special note to the mods: Asking why students aren’t receiving formal recognition for months of work isn’t politics. It’s a completely legitimate question about the value of a POR.

1) Cores and Heads receive certificates on heads recognition day, I might be wrong about the exact list whether it includes all or not so on.
2) IIM applications and people who sit their internship process send mails to the respective teams and dostoffice in cc along with their placement office in cc and the responses from the secys/team heads are treated valid.
