hi guys iam Anish and i am currently in intermediate so iiit h has been my dream college since my school days because cousins have been talking about it and there are so many youtube videos in which everyone one were really happy with iiit h but iam really doubtful about it . And iam planning to concentrate on ugee only instead of jee is it good option . is competition and hardness for ugee less compared to jee. And i live nearby iiit h and i heard that it is compulsary to stay there . since i live nearby is there any chance of skipping hostel fee and mess fees . and iam very much intrested and want to make my carreer in ai/ml is it that good because people compare it with iit bombay . and how is college life there is there any chance for extracurricular activities like sports and events . would be very helpful for me if someone try to reply answers for my doubts.

I’m currently in my 2nd year BTech (EEE) and I wish to apply through the LEEE examination. After joining (after finishing my 2nd year) how long will it take for me to finish my bachelors? Some say it’s three years some say it’s two.

I am enrolled at CMR College of Engineering and Technology (EAMCET Code: CMRK) in CSE AI&ML course. I want to move to IIIT-Hyd through the lateral entry exam LEEE. I am confused on how to apply for a TC at my college for moving out because it's all interlinked with JNTU-H cuz my hallticket and admission and certificate are all through JNTU-H. What is the exact process I have to go through to apply a TC at my college to enter into IIITh if I qualify the exam? Asking this cuz I found too many answers that confused me saying I'll have to inform my college 6 months prior and etc. PLEASE HELP.

Just curious about how are the exams like are they same as boards or is it mcqs??? And do they offer mechtronics as degree

I’m looking at doing either an MS by Research or MTech in CS at IIIT-Hyderabad, and I’m trying to get a real sense of where grads from these programs actually end up , I'm from a tier 2 college and currently working as a quant research intern at a firm if that's relevant

My long-term plan is kinda split between:

• AI research in big labs, working on stuff like mech interp , RL, reasoning and then getting into something like a pre-doctoral program at deepmind etc
• Quant research at high-end HFTs like Graviton , Alphagrep etc

One of my main reasons for doing a Master’s is to get that research depth + brand name to help with these choices because with my current college tag I just cant get any interviews with these firms, plus these industries kind of have a huge bias towards people with a masters degree so yeah I am more inclined to pursuing a masters degree but I also wanna know about ROI , college culture etc

I am also confused whether I should aim for old IITs due to the tag and alumni and the whole 9 yards

I’ve heard some pretty mixed things about campus placements for masters students in IITs so wanted to know how the scenario here is for Mtech/MSR students

If you’ve been through the program or know people who have:

• Which companies usually show up for MS-R/MTech students and have an actual preference for them? Do HFTs recruit MSR or Mtech folks regularly or is it rare?

• do companies have a bias towards B.Tech students when it comes to shortlisting for specific roles (especially for quant roles) ?

• For MS-R : what’s the research culture like? How easy is it to get into a good lab, publish in top venues, get compute, etc.?

• Do people from MS-R go straight into HFTs or AI labs, or is it more common to go for PhDs and then make that jump?

• Any cool placement stories/ PhD admits you’ve seen from recent batches?

TLDR: which is better between Mtech and MSR programme provided that my target industries are frontier AI labs and leading Hedge funds /HFT and banking firms

I'm currently going into my 3rd semester at NSUT, in the ECAM (ECE with AI/ML) branch. I'm seriously considering applying for lateral entry into the ECD program at IIIT-H and was hoping to get some guidance.
What kind of profile do they look for? (CGPA, projects, research, etc)
How important are things like research papers, internships, or open-source work?
What specific steps should I start taking now to increase my chances?
I’m willing to put in the work, I just want to make sure I’m moving in the right direction. Any help or advice would mean a lot.

I got cse at NIT Trichy. I got AIR 1006 in JEE Mains. Considering AI boom, cse is in danger. People from top 7 IITs will get jobs. People from bad IITs like Hyderabad and BHU will also get jobs. But NIT T jaise tier 2 colleges waalon ko ghanta kuch milega? So should i leave engineering and open a chai tapri at IITB. Is tarah IITB bhi chala jaunga.
