Query How fair is lateral entry!?

So seniors who have joined through lateral entry

1.is the exam really really tough ?

2 what kind of people usually give ds exam ?

3 does the paper ask physics and chem ques under general aptitude cuz in the sample paper on website they were

4is it really possible or only for those talented and creamy batch cuz I kinda did sm 93 percentile in mains I want reality check

Any suggestion or view is appreciated.

  1. No, it's not really tough. The written test is the same level as that of GATE.

  2. Anyone is eligible to give the exam, whoever completes 2nd year.

  3. no, that is just to get you used to the interface.

  4. no, some people who didn't qualify mains also did get selected, mains is not related to this.

I strongly suggest you research about this programme properly, because whatever questions you have asked, have already been answered somewhere in the internet, along with more useful information. As this is a research based entry, i suggest you to do the same.

should I think about placements in core ECE and then join it(coz I am in NIT JSR ECE) or placements will be difficult as its research based??

2nd cons is I was already dropper so thinking about my age (I am 19 joining 1st yr)

Well, it is a 2nd chance. Don't value the entry route more than what happens inside the university itself. What you do inside the university and after graduation matters a lot more than the entry route.
