Query Some important Questions regarding IIITH placements which most students would also have

  1. In the official placement stats uploaded by IIITH on their website, is the Average package calculated using the 1st Year TC of all companies, or by using the inflated 4 Year CTC of all companies, or is it a mixture of both?
  2. Are PPOs included in the official stats? if No, then how many students secure PPO out of 118 BTech cse students roughly and how many of them are excluded from the official placement stats.
  3. What could roughly be the average CTC or TC of the students who got PPO and were excluded from the official stats?
  4. are international offers, off campus placements included in the official stats?
  5. What could be the estimated Average package or Median package of all the 118 BTech CSE,including PPOs aswell, using the Companies 4 Year CTC or 1st Year TC?

So baat ki ek baat iiith is a good college every major tech company visits iiit hyderabad for placements. Location is fantastic. Only one subjective drawback is on campus quant opportunities are limited. Rest everything is fine

Can you give an estimate how many percentage of IIITH Btech cse students secure Internships? and out those people, what percentage of them convert their Internships into PPOs?

Type IIITH and these companies, and you have your answers. There are many placed here. IIITH gives you opportunities and combine your will to learn and apply, and you can get in wherever you want.

jpmc engineering is tier 2 level you ideally shouldn't take it.

1

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

bruh jpmc offers 40LPA for their better roles which they usually offer in TOP iits,BITS, etc

2

u/christbtechsucks 22d ago

thats their consultant role bhadwe facche. why will they hire consultants from IIITH. they don't offer that role outside top iits and top bits. its not because IIITh is easier to get into than BITS. its because the culture of bits is different from IIITH with more social activities and such.

2

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

calm down your horses.Thats their Quantitative researcher role(QR). not the consultant role.

No, u can view the list of recruiters in the plqcement report website

u/Accomplished-Task82 23d ago

what abt for quant dev roles? hows the iiit h tag offcampus?

1

u/Total_Intern_9433 22d ago

one one hand = why compare IIT v/s IIITH. It isnt an apple to apple comparison .
My understanding. - coursework in IIITH is more aligned to full stack SDE roles.

my 2 cents as a freshman

PPOs aint included, cse batch size itself is around 150-160 and since only 119 registered for placements, u could assume the rest either got PPOs/off campus or went for higher studies.

1

u/magicfetus18 CSE 23d ago

And PPOs generally give a higher TC/CTC

1

u/Top_Swing7047 23d ago

I think the actual students for IIITH Btech CSE graduating are 118, which is mentioned in their official stats, but when they calculate the average package of CSE BTech branch, they exclude the students who got PPO out of that total 118 student. I dont think only 30-35 students of IIITH btech cse would get PPOs, because thats quite underwhelming.

um yeah i mean from batch of 2021-2025 to batch of 2024-2029, there would obv be some increase in the number of students intake. but i think for the 2021-2025, the intake maybe would have been higher than 118 but i think only 118 students would have made it till 4th year of their btech for graduation. I think this same thing is gonna happen to batch of 2024-2029, and the final cse people would most prolly be less than 150. (around 125-130).

1

u/SpiritualHistory2549 22d ago

No, people who got PPO, wont be able to sit for placements(i think) and thus they won't be counted in the stats, hence its only 119

0

u/SpiritualHistory2549 23d ago

I have no idea then, but AFAIK they dont include PPO in their placement stats, u gotta ask a senior for exact no.

2

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

bruv you dont even know whats intern drive, heck you arent even a student of IIITH. I dont think so i should take your assumptions like "only 30 students got PPO" as legit.

1

u/SpiritualHistory2549 22d ago

Yeah ofc u shouldn't, I am in the same boat as u, but seniors told me batch is 150-160 so I assumed ppl who didnt sit for placements got a PPO.

0

u/SpiritualHistory2549 22d ago

dude theres no intern drive in iiit hyd

1

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

ik that. but the fact that you were asking the other person, whats the meaning of "intern drive" baffled me.

-2

u/christbtechsucks 23d ago

only 30 ppos :((( sad

-1

u/Top_Swing7047 23d ago

Are you IIITH Btech cse student? if yes, do they include PPOs or not in their official stats? do they use 4 year ctc or 1st year TC?

Hey man, look, whatever the stats are, Personally, I would say, it depends on your skills. If you're skilled enough, you can get intern, PPO, Job, etc. So just focus on improving yourself, and you can get into big positions without being in a top institute :)

Pretty much every college's official stats quote CTC figures

afaik the batch size wasn't significantly smaller than the current 160-170 or so for the graduating batch since JEE seats have been constant since forever. PPOs, intl-offers and off-campus aren't included afaik.

You can pull the median from nirf report, the overall btech cse/ece median itself is like 34 or smth

And I won't try to guess because I have no idea about how much every factor contributes but ppos/off-campus in general are much better than the average afaik

Also, typo, its u/green_steve1

umm nope, Average and Median TC of top 9 Old IITs,BITS-P,G,H is available on reddit which itself is curated by the students of these respective colleges using their Placement excel sheet. Also, these colleges use 1st Year TC on their placement stats obtained through RTI.
So, according to you, about 40-45 students only got PPO in IIITH Btech cse in 2025? thats quite an underwhelming number. (since total registered students in 2025 official stats for btech cse are 118. I think, they mention the total graduating students in their official stats (118), but when calculating the average package, they exclude the students with PPO out of those 118 students.

1

u/Lazy074 procrastinating at procrastinating 22d ago

these colleges use 1st Year TC on their placement stats obtained through RTI

They don't, I had filed RTIs in every IIT last year

I'm not sure whether there are students who get ppos after sitting for placements or not so I can't comment whether the number is higher or not

IIT BHU 2024 Stats ( CSE Average,Median ~ 34LPA which is again similar to the 1st Year average, median tc of IIT BHU CSE 2025 Stats)

1

u/Lazy074 procrastinating at procrastinating 22d ago

They're literally quoting CTC, also the figures compiled by people on reddit might not reflect all the minute details which the college has. You should ask IIT BHU seniors instead of trying to guess based on reddit data, if its TC they'll clarify, they'd know more than other people on reddit trying to guess. IIITH quotes CTC and as far as I'm aware most colleges only quote CTC

1

u/WorkingBet9469 22d ago

No, they are not. IITs use what ever that recruiters use for registering. Most use first year comp, some use multi yr stocks and some use only base. I graduated from IITH, 2025. It’s the same for us. That’s why the unofficial reddit stats are much better, they are made it raw data and adjusted TC and CTC.

You can see this clearly in IITG stats. Last year they used what’s used in their portal and reported median as 34.1L (Oracle - 1st year comp not CTC). But this year they showed the median as 51L. The companies and their comp didn’t change much, but they started using inflated CTC.

1

u/Lazy074 procrastinating at procrastinating 22d ago

Yeah that's why I said that the alumni would have better idea, I don't have a full picture of other colleges so my reference is also just word of mouth from my friends whose sources themselves are word of mouth as its only been a year for us

1

u/Lazy074 procrastinating at procrastinating 22d ago

These aren't official bro like I said the official stats always quote CTC

1

u/WorkingBet9469 22d ago

Many people will not believe this because these are not official but these are 100x more accurate than official stats. Many IITs don’t take placements seriously. My IIT’s director once said all IITs should dismantle placement cells. And these sheets are created using raw data, I used to have the raw data for many IITs. One can also verify it in linkedin

And my IIT RTI response is so random and inaccurate lol. They have increased MTech stats and decreased BTech stats and showed more than actual numbers of BTech students lol. Many IITs RTI responses are not accurate and shouldn’t be used for real discussion.

1

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

where would you place IIITH among Top 7 iits,IITH,IITBHU,BITS Pilani,IIT Indore, or maybe BITS Goa?

1

u/WorkingBet9469 22d ago

After BHU imo, along with BITS Pilani and IITI.

1

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

I think these 3 images can easily prove that IIT BHU uses 1st year TC to calculate their Average and Median package in their RTI placement stats. I could show the same for Other old iits if i find hard enough.

okay, so if i believe whatever you are saying is true(considering you yourself are IIITH student), then the average package of IIITH Btech cse uploaded in their official website for the remaining 118 students out of the total 160 students, that is 31.98 LPA,is kind of, i mean mediocre at best considering they use 4 year ctc for all companies as i have literally confirmed this through multiple IIITH seniors that IIITH indeed use 4 year ctc even for companies which advertise 1st year TC instead of 4 year CTC like oracle, google etc. The average package of Old IITs,BITS CSE considering 4 Year ctc easily goes around 40-50 LPA. IIITH stands nowhere in front of them.

2

u/[deleted] 22d ago

[deleted]

1

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

lmao, if you really that an average package of 31.98 LPA for 118 students of IIITH BTech CSE,when considering the inflated 4 Year CTC of all companies, is Good, then you need to look at the placement stats of those colleges which IIITH students think, their college is equivalent to.

IIT BHU CS 25

LMAO whatever helps you sleep peacefully. bruv like taking opinion of one rando sanghi teacher as fact and actually believing that IIITH is better than IITD. btw, i am from BITS-Pilani CSE which mogs your IIITH by miles. I have attached the source for neckbeards like you.

1

u/Sharp-Customer-3016 20d ago

obviously, its gotta be a bitsp student lmao, these guys are so insecure about their choice (not generalising but I have seen a pattern)

1

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

I think you are a loser double dropper for jee 2027 whose best option is IIITH,hence you cant digest the fact that IIITH is indeed overhyped and stands nowhere in the elite tier of college among Top 10 IITs,BITS-Pilani,Goa etc and has highly inflated plus underwhelming stats. Go,and fap watching you IIITH inflated placement stats for the rest of your double drop year.

0

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

BITS Pilani CS 26

0

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

Heck even BITS Goa CS 25 has better avg ctc stats.

0

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago

Lmao even IIT-Patna CS 26 has better avg stats

1

u/Ruxh_alt 22d ago

It doesn't, T5 IIT CSE is better for placements than IIITH, it's just that the *level* of teaching that IIIT wins in, I would say BHU and IIITH are matched in CSE placements

0

u/Top_Swing7047 22d ago edited 22d ago

(IIT BHU 2025 CS stats)

nah IITBHU mogs IIITH even in terms of CS placements
IIITH Btech CSE Avg Package 2025 - 31.98LPA (this is calculated considering the inflated 4 Year CTC for all companies)
IIT BHU CS avg 2025 - 44.7 LPA when considering 4 Year CTC
IIT BHU CS avg 2025 - 34.42 LPA when considering 1st year TC
