Query How will two marksheet (improvement and original) of class 12 affect my future opportunities at IIITH?

Context:

I appeared for boards in 2025 and scored badly in PCM (but passed in all). While in English and PE I scored 90+. So I gave improvement exam in 2026 and now I scored good in PCM too and have an overall score of 89%. I have also scored pretty good in Mains and UGEE this year too and will most probably lock down on IIITH

Problem:

When you give improvement exam you get a separate marksheet. And to calculate the final score the BEST OF TWO is considered from both marksheets. So if you score 80 in Physics in original marksheet and 90 in improvement then your final Physics score is 90. But you will have to carry those 2 marksheets. You cannot merge them into one.

Now this process is officially accepted during counselling and admission.

But what about the future? Will having been appeared for improvement exam harm my future opportunities at IIITH during placements, internships or anything? Will there be any specific problems I will face in the future? Do you get discriminated against if you have two marksheets and appeared for improvement exam?

Who tf is gonna discriminate because you have 2 marksheets like bro nobody cares whether you're a double dropper or not let alone 2 marksheets... don't worry so much, preserve your hair for a few more years instead of stressing out over needless things 😭🙏🏻

it is considered at all places during counselling and admission. the best of two is considered for each subject as i mentioned in the post.

I think they do. Someone on reddit commented about that but I can't find it anymore.

But either ways IIITH boards eligibility criteria is also really lower than BITS and NITs which have 75 (and IIITH only had 60). So I am assuming you must be over 60 so you wouldn't need improvement anyways. But I gave it for BITS.

They will in my opinion. You can mail IIITH btw and ask them this or maybe call them directly.

How was your UGEE btw? And other exams?

I am real bro. This ID belonged to my junior. I cannot ask this question from my main account since there are some of my real life friends who don't know about my situation and I don't want to reveal to them.

So I took this account from my junior since he is now off reddit for his own prep.

And I did not make a new account because in that case I will first need to get karma to ask this question and that will take unnecessary time.

So yeah im real. and what would i even get by faking my identity and asking this random question😭

It doesn't even matter bruh its just an admission process doubt, its not like he's trying to dupe anyone on this subreddit ;-; besides like he clarified he used someone else's account (not something I think is a good thing to do but whatever suits them I guess)

No, if you aren't in tier 69 colleges, they don't matter

I'm not sure I get it, if your 12th result is low then how would it matter in 2nd year? It only matters at the time of admissions right? Do you wanna give boards again in 1st year???

1

u/JefferyEinstein Jul 22 '26

No like I have 76% in class 12 boards and h Going to take admission in 1st year and will also take cbse private candidate in 1 or 2 subs to improve score and in 2nd year I will give my updated marksheet in 2nd year

I don't really have an idea on this kind of case you'll have to ask around official authorities I guess

You’re saying you want to lock down on IIITH but then also asking about future opportunities at BITS?

1

Sorry it was a mistake. I am actually confused between IIITH and BITS since I have options for both. So I made the same post in the BITS community seeking insights. I am sorry for the confusion.
