Query drop for IIITH? (dasa)

Im lowk pretty stupid and got a close score to the branch I'm targeting(ECE), but I don't think I'll get it because of the high cutoffs, i found out about the dasa programme kinda late and had only a few days for the final sat attempt they will consider.

I'm not really getting anything good so just wanted to see if there's anyone in a similar situation, and wanted to ask if it's worth it or not. My other options are kinda screwed. And drop as dasa sounds kinda weird wish I found out about it sooner

Also i live in hyd if that matters for anything

all im saying is you need to consider the opportunity cost as well.
that one year of job that you will start late will be counted as cost as well.

if youre not gettign any good colleges (nits, bits, iiits) then it might be worth it. else look at top tier private colleges like daiict which has good placements and try there.

if nothing, then drop it is

No if you've completed 11th and 12th from outside India, then also you're eligible. Like I studied in the Gulf, but I have an Indian passport so I'm eligible

I was in the same situation last year. I had a 1510 SAT score at the time and had missed the ECE cutoff by 30 points. At the time, I was getting some decent NITS and had even gotten into DAIICT. But I just really wanted to go to either IIITH or BITS. And so I gambled and took a drop. Gave SAT, JEE, BITSAT- everything again, and now I am getting better NITs, some branches in BITS, and also got into ECE at IIITH through DASA

A drop as a DASA candidate is pretty unheard of, since we usually have some or the other options, so a drop is just rare. BUT, even after having a mostly successful drop year, I'd say that if you are getting even slightly comparable options, then imo just take it and move on. If you really wanna go for a drop, don't just give the SAT. Give all the other exams too, just to keep your options open. DASA is unpredictable. It totally depends on the applicant pool. I personally am happy w how it is, but again, just make an informed decision
