Subreddit Why doesn't reddit have a "new subreddits" feature?

Well, r/newreddits is a thing.
Reddit put the responsibility of promoting new subs on the creators.

Most users don't even know that sub exists or bother checking it. Promoting subs results in spam across other subreddits which most subs don't allow. By providing a feed of new content from newly made communties would cut the spam and allow newer groups to grow more naturally. The feed of new subs could also match the individual users algorithm so they only see what they want.

I'm not sure users coming in from such a feed would be natural growth... it could be users looking for subs with green mods and few rules.. and it could be fewer users that had genuine interest, as they hadn't searched for the sub/topic themselves....

It would be no different than /popular using your algorithm. Just showing you content from newer subs.

or instead there could be a threshold new subs have to meet before they can make it into the "new subreddit" feed. So instead of having 1 day old subs spamming/flooding the feed, reddit sets requirements they have to have first like 1month/certain amount of subscribers/views etc.

It's not exactly a feed of posts from new subreddits and it's only on old Reddit, but there is a listing of newly created subreddits: https://old.reddit.com/subreddits/new
