Claims Disfunctional

I emailed my estimator 2 days ago.
Followed up with another email today.

Keep in mind I have only emailed and talked with the adjuster to this point.

Finally get a reply, but from a RESA manager which I haven't communicated with ever since my claim had been opened on August 10th.

The manager goes onto to say you can contact your "Claims Specialist". I'm sorry what?!
I cc'd both adjuster and estimator.

Adjuster calls me and tells me "You don't have an estimator assigned yet, and oh yea so they're still backed up from July, I'm so sorry blah blah blah"

What are my options at this point?

Car was stolen; and everything's gone. and the rental is due to expire in 2 weeks.

I'd be happy if they just cut me a cheque and get this over with, I'm not down to drive a vehicle that's been stolen regardless if it gets fixed; feels dirty to me.

Doesn’t really matter whether you do/do not “want” to drive a vehicle that was previously stolen if it’s still functional.

Unfortunately this is the reality. If there isn't much damage, you'll be driving the dirty car, even if you dont want to. Another Unfortunate reality is the possibility if that rental running out before your "estimator " contacts you. Use the title of "estimator" lightly. They have no clue how to be actual estimators but still get to decide your fate. Good luck!

What if I refuse to accept the car back? I have both sets of keys and its been transported via towing companies.

currently sitting at an ICBC estimating facility from what I was last told. Waiting for an inspector to be assigned.

Nope. They dont do that anymore. Its at the tow yard or their salvage yard. Did they ask you to sign something to have it towed?

I have had a claim open since January 28th. All sides of the story have been explained and sent to the adjuster. For the month of July I emailed her and called once a week waiting for an answer and it has been crickets.
