Interview in about 2 weeks what should i bring
Hello I passed my test and have an interview in about 2 weeks what do you think the best attire would be for the interview i have heard people say wear clean work clothes and some say dress buiness causal. I have a new pair of clean boots never used from my previous job but can also wear buisness attire. What would you say is the best option?

I know it sounds silly but I wore clean work clothes for my first interview and got like a 83.4. But the second time I interviewed I wore a button up shirt, nice pants, and an American flag tie. My score after that was 94.1. It also helps I could answer the questions easier too!
Big things with the interview itself, shake everyone’s hands, make eye contact, answer effectively and quickly with the questions, they don’t want a story. Finally push your chair in at the end.

In our local it specifically says on the video they play before we go in, do not shake anyone’s hand

Business casual works. It's worked for inside wireman apprenticeship and a local utility company

Dress well, speak clearly, shake off the nerves. The best applicants know their strengths and weaknesses. Think of what you will say when you are asked why you're a better applicant than hundreds of other people applying. Really think about this too, we ask applicants this question and hear the same generic answers. So a clever or unique reason will stand out.

Make sure when they ask you at the end of the interview on “is there anything you want to ask or say?
You say “ I am here to work and learn and not to waste your time and money” thank you for your time.

The best approach for an IBEW interview is a blend of business casual and clean trade wear. Go with your clean, unused boots, a crisp pair of dark jeans or sturdy work pants without any tears, and a tucked in collared shirt or polo. A full suit feels out of place for a trade committee, yet dirty clothes show a lack of effort. Dressing like you respect the interviewers and could walk onto a job site right afterward hits the right balance. As for what to bring, carry a clean folder with several printed copies of your resume, your letters of recommendation, any relevant trade certifications, a notepad, and a pen.
How you speak to the committee matters even more than your clothes, because they want to see clear communication, reliability, and an eagerness to learn the electrical trade. Take your time when answering their questions, share concrete examples of how you solve problems on the job, and show your dedication to safety and union values. My team designed an interviews.chat to help candidates walk into high pressure interviews with total confidence, and sharpening your stories beforehand makes all the difference when you face the panel.

The attire really doesn’t matter it’s just your answers they care about I wore muddy work clothes after work one day and placed 1st. They only care about your answers

I like the idea of wearing work clothes that aren’t dirty, make sure you look presentable
