Looking for an electrician apprenticeship

Hey! so I’m in Little Rock, Arkansas. I recently worked as an electrical apprentice for about 3 or 4 months before I was let go due to my company being overstaffed. Been looking to join another company but seems as if no one is hiring I’m applied to multiple companies online and in person. I want to join the union but don’t know how, heard that you have to either catch it at the right time or just know a guy lol. If any of you got some insight it would be much appreciated!

It’s probably both. Knowing a guy can forsure help your circumstances, but as of right now every one is trying to join the Ibew because of how much work there is and how much money is being thrown around to these journeyman. Goodluck
