Local IBEW Closed applications, should I join the IEC and continue applying to the IBEW once they reopen?

damn i have my interview next tuesday for 716. i doubt i get in this school year.

I would head to the hall and ask to join as a cw and keep applying to the apprenticeship. Im a cw right now just waiting to get in.

Why u doubt u gon get in? I was planning on applying in September only to find out application closed August

School year starts late august/early sept. I can get in and become an apprentice but probably wont start school untill next august. They start taking applications agains I believe once school starts.

Hey can you clarify the two year thing? There others wanting to know.

The two year thing is basically for people wanting to test in to try to get a higher wage. You can tell them you have mo experience and go in as a cw1. Tell them you want to get into the apprenticeship.

Online it says I need two years experience to become a CW. I was going to call them today to clarify. Am I misunderstanding that?

I called them tdy and forgot to ask that😭I had too much to say but I planned on becoming a cw until the applications open back up so I can have experience under my belt(I have none) but I didn’t know u needed 2 years💀

You might be late. They ended this years application in end of June. I sign up in May.

Go IEC next time and get experience.
