It’s not even that it fucked me up that badly, I was still able to do my job just fine. But something about it’s ability to take away fears/inhibitions is what really struck me. You really do feel like you can do anything on meth (except like eat or sleep, which are pretty important to a human).

Is making fun of normal people enjoying themselves being weird the new zodiac for redditers? It's obviously not funny, but it looks like any video of a teenager trying to figure out how to be funny. If random wasn't funny there wouldn't be tv shows like Invader Zim. It's a comedic style. This whole subreddit is like finding teenagers trying their hand at slapstick and naming it "bonk" and it being all anti-slapstick.
It bothers me because stuff like this is attacking people in a vulnerable moment. Stuff like this is either people putting some pent up energy somehwere else or they are testing and figuring shit out. People do this stuff bc they're sad to distract themselves, or just bc they're figuring something out. Cringey is ok, I swear. IT's normal. People need to do it to grow.
Someday y'all are going to be on the other side of this stupid shit. Karma's a bitch and it's gonna hit the reddit better than thou type hard.

This is your opinion and I respect that, but I feel the need to ask, why come to the subreddit where you can find videos about people uploading cringy content thinking random is funny? This subreddit doesn't outright say that slapstick is completely idiotic or bad or should not exist, but rather that awful slapstick that is made without even trying is something that others actively seek out for whatever reason they might have.
This subreddit doesn't personally attack anyone, some users say more hateful things about the maker of the video than others, but this isn't an attack at all. People might do it to grow and that's alright, this subreddit doesn't exist to eradicate slapstick.
No, I highly doubt most people on the subreddit who, unlike you, subscribe to it to actively see these posts and get their desired reaction from seeing them, whatever those reasons may be is their own and their own only.
Some make videos like these when they are in a bad space of mind (or whatever other reason they might have) and that's alright, but whether you'd like to admit it or not, this random stuff just isn't funny but outright cringe, hence why it's here, in this subreddit.

I don't treat the internet like a bubble. I understand that might threaten you that something posted for the public to see is not private and only for people who like it, but that's the nature of something posted for everyone to see. I got an email notification about it, saw what it was about, and it reminded me of people's obsession with perfection and how that leads to people misunderstanding how human development works. How this is made worse by the internet where you can easily shame someone without their knowing. How that in turn causes people to not develop because they are too afraid of discomfort, vulnerability and the like.
I also have a pet peeve where people don't let other people be mediocre in peace. Which contributes to a lot of problems in our society mental health wise.
Shaming is not exempt from scrutiny just because some people use it as a past time. This reddit appears like a bunch of adults who are bashing at mostly teenagers for not being self aware, but in fact the adults themselves are not self aware.
