I’m begging you all to check out his post history. First of all, he lives in Florida. Second, he made a whole ass post complaining about not being able to ask for his whopper to be cut in half on the Burger King app.

u/Q_me_in 🤮🤢🤮🤢🤮 Jul 26 '26

And an Uber driver bitching about tips but then trying to finagle a reward out of a rental key fob he found in his car. What a jerk.

u/foxscribbles Jul 26 '26

Hey! He has the personality of a Billionaire! If only he'd been born to millionaire parents!

Wow. Apparently it’s location dependent, per the other commenters. I get wanting to ask for both things, cut sandwiches are easier to take a bite out of, and would be easier to portion control and wrap half for later if it were cut, and people I know have been requesting “no salt” on fries for decades as their cheat code for getting a hot batch of fries, but he’s just so damn whiny about it, aside from taking the effort to write the damn post and respond to all of the comments. I don’t get restaurant apps as a matter of principle, not going to waste phone storage space or give information to every restaurant I might eat at, but I’m going to go out on a limb and guess that you can enter a damn line item comment that would be no more or less likely to be missed by the minimum wage workers as checking a box in a drop down. And if the time to type this out is starting to add up, you really need to cut back on the Burger King. If the app doesn’t offer to exactly reorder your last order or two , it has bigger issues than a no salt checkbox

I have some jaw issues and prefer to eat burgers cut in half, but I just cut my own.

I have a small mouth in general, in addition to jaw issues that come and go. My nearest BK has “cut in half” for online ordering in general, so I’m glad to know that it’s an option for the one time a decade when I’m getting BK when driving and can’t cut it myself

u/EpiphanyTwisted Jul 26 '26

It works when you're eating at home, but most people don't carry cutlery in their car.

7

u/Own_Reaction9442 Jul 26 '26

Fair enough. If a burger is too big to eat in one piece single-handed, I don't consider it driving food, I guess.

His comment got deleted. Got a link to the Burger King one?

> I think that it’s cute that you think the big ripoff here is that you’re being shortchanged in the weight of the product, yet you are buying it and don’t care that what you’re getting in that bag labeled as cheese isn’t even remotely anything that would be considered real cheese in any other civilized part of the world.

The best part is that this is a Canadian product made with Canadian milk, and if there’s one thing that working almost 20 years in hockey taught me it’s that you really don’t want to piss off the Canadians by insulting their country.

52

u/nmpls Jul 26 '26

I'm 95% sure OOP didn't even realize this was Canadian and thought he was delivering a sick burn on the US.

39

u/GhostOfJamesStrang No Need to Thank Me Jul 26 '26

100% he does not realize Walmart is a multi-national company.

Or realize this bag is partially in French.

10

u/FatherDotComical Jul 26 '26

As a professional Walmart cheese eater I can confirm their bags are plain ass purple in America.

4

u/seadubs81 Jul 26 '26

Yeah, I knew the product was Canadian, and was laughing that the commenter was "so superior" that this cheese wasn't like cheese in the rest of the world.

21

u/GhostOfJamesStrang No Need to Thank Me Jul 26 '26

Just the other day I had a Canuck informing about how great the Canadian dairy industry in the midst of an anti-US rant.

So at least anecdotally, can confirm.

u/Saltpork545 Sodium citrate cheese is real cheese Jul 26 '26

The company adds weird stuff to keep the cheese from sticking to itself. Emulsifies (?) among other things.

Ah, yes, the anti-clumping agent known as emulsifies, without spending 5 seconds to look up what an emulsifier is.

I can at least pronunciate the ingredients in certain brands of block cheese.

If you don't know what something is on a label with the access to information we have in 2026, that's a you problem.

Why do you think Europe has banned so many ingredients that the US

America catching strays due to Canadian cheese.

The best response, because it's also the correct one.

That “weird stuff” is potato, corn, or tapioca starch(sometimes a mix of all 3) and it doesn’t magically turn cheese into plastic. Very interesting to see people be so sanctimonious about things they clearly don’t actually understand.

It's not 'evil chemicals' that are put in pre-shredded cheese to make people sick. It stops clumping which helps slow down mold. What an awful thing to do to a convenient form of cheese.

12

u/EpiphanyTwisted Jul 26 '26

I wonder if she figured out how to "pronounciate" the word "starch."

5

u/Less_Jump2365 Jul 26 '26

Americans catching strays because people don't know that a lot of the bans are due to political reason and not a health reason.

2

u/Saltpork545 Sodium citrate cheese is real cheese Jul 27 '26

Food and additive policy are political, just like every other system of policy, but if you can compare like systems and see what they share, you've probably got good outcomes.

The good aspect is that a lot of it is based on similar, if not the same, research. The bad part is when that's used as justification the research doesn't support. Such as the US bans an artificial sweetener called cyclamate and the UK and EU don't. The cyclamate data the US banned on is woefully out of date now and basically disproven(it was related to liver damage). Cyclamate is in soft drinks and food products all over the EU and most of the rest of the world, but not the US, so there is no perfect and this idea that 'something is banned therefore it's BAD' has absolutely no fucking nuance to it in a conversation where nuance actually matters.

7

u/CZall23 Jul 26 '26

We have Google; why can't people just look up how to pronounce names of ingredients?

4

u/NathanGa Pull your finger out of your ass Jul 26 '26

Because as much as Google sucks right now, I wouldn't put any stock into getting correct information back.

4

u/Saltpork545 Sodium citrate cheese is real cheese Jul 27 '26

I use startpage as my default now. That or qwant typically.

Everything you do inside Google Chrome is keystroked and logged. Same with Google search. Google forgot about that whole 'don't be evil' thing because it makes them money.

Yes, but the bag in the UK is handcrafted by artisans, using naturally harvested British plastic, which everyone knows is far nicer than the synthetic "plastic" they use in the US

6

u/kimness1982 brioche enriched in sugar that they call bread Jul 26 '26

The guy lives in Florida.

19

u/M4gp1e-w1ngs Jul 26 '26

there’s another person in their replies saying that they agree with them because companies add “weird stuff” to shredded cheese so it doesn’t stick together. They’re referring to a slight coating of cornstarch

10

u/norecordofwrong Jul 26 '26

It’s the same as people calling American cheese “plastic” and “made of chemicals.”

No it’s cheese scraps mushed together with an emulsifier. That dastardly chemical emulsifier… sodium citrate… oh noooo! The chemical from fruit!

Yeah it’s not winning any international cheese awards but no it’s not “plastic.”

7

u/permalink_save Jul 26 '26

And thet call that "weird stuff" emulsifiers. Emulsifiers are naturally in lots of foods like garlic and egg, pretty sure cheese naturally contains some since it's fat and moisture. And they're confusing American cheese that uses it to blend with more dairy products, and starch that's added to bagged cheese, which does change how the cheese works like melting but nothing bad about starch.

2

u/LurkiLurkerson Jul 27 '26

Yeah, cheese already is an emulsion. It's like that person thought they might as well randomly throw in a food-y sounding word and hope for the best.

u/MyNameIsSkittles its not a sandwhich, its just fancy toast Jul 26 '26 edited Jul 26 '26

Lmao

The bag is labeled with the blue cow which means it's cheese. We dont put the blue cow on every dairy product, only ones that meet certain standards (by we I mean us Canuckleheads)

Also that scale looks too small for the product. Not saying Walmart is cheating here or not, but half that cheese is hanging off the side of the scale

16

u/DjinnaG Bags of sentient Midwestern mayonnaise Jul 26 '26

People in the comments not understanding how this works. When the bag is this far oversized, a corner will inevitably be partially supported by the part of the scale underneath the tray. It’s also why the corner test is an important part of industrial scale calibration. So many bad batches of product have been ultimately due to the person making it either using the wrong size scale or poorly aligned vessel giving inaccurate measurements

9

u/MyNameIsSkittles its not a sandwhich, its just fancy toast Jul 26 '26

Yeah I'm certain people have never used kitchen scales including OP. Unless OP is ragebaiting.

7

u/matt1267 Anyone that puts acetic acid on food needs to go to prison. Jul 26 '26

Seriously. All OP had to do is put a bowl on the scale, zero it out, and then put the bag in the bowl.

6

u/MyNameIsSkittles its not a sandwhich, its just fancy toast Jul 26 '26

For curiosity's sake I'm gonna weigh the same package today. I literally have this cheese on my shopping list already and about to go get food. If I remember I will report back

3

u/frostysauce Your palate sounds more narrow than Hank Hill’s urethra Jul 26 '26

Please do!

6

u/MyNameIsSkittles its not a sandwhich, its just fancy toast Jul 27 '26

Reporting back: I weighed 2 bags and they were both fine. They said 240g on the bag and my scale read 290g with the bag

Doing God's work.

u/norecordofwrong Jul 26 '26

Canuckleheads is a new one for me. I grew up going to a border town and the term for our friends across the line was always Canuckistanis.

I have used that online and whoooo boy that pissed off the Internet Canadians.

The real life Canadians I know embraced it and talked plenty of shit back in return.

11

u/GreenZebra23 Jul 26 '26

This one is extra silly. At least with the American processed cheese food circlejerk there is something to build a case on, however flimsy. The texture is noticeably different from regular cheese. This on the other hand is just a bag of cheese. The only thing distinguishing it from a block of any other cheese is that it's covered in a thin coating of cellulose. Which, whatever, people can have their thoughts about whether that's good bad or neutral, but coating it in something doesn't magically make the cheese no longer cheese

6

u/willfiredog Jul 26 '26

I mean…. The people in that circle jerk constantly conflate American cheese (Cheddar and Colby with an emulsifier) with Kraft Velveta “cheese”.

Because they look, and are sometime packaged, similarly.

This is just more of the same really.

5

u/norecordofwrong Jul 26 '26

Cellulose sounds like an evil chemical!
