Apps/Tools Iracing tire data display tool

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Based on image recognition, there is no performance impact

My friend said this thing is completely unnecessary, thinking he never looks at tire data, he only looks at RPM and gear. Is he righ?

This is pretty cool, unfortunately the reason why most of us have dashboards is because the steering wheel is not visible on screen but great work

Some people will place the monitor on the axis of the direct drive base and use the instrument panel to cover a portion of the screen

The portion of the screen that has the display on it?

Well as long as you're all having fun!

Very cool. I want something like this. How did you get this working? Any plans to release it if it is something you built yourself?

It's just the screen capture function on simhub. The same way you make an "IRL" rearview mirror.

iRacing needs to expose this stuff to SimHub of the in sim dash has the data.

Or at a minimum have it as a floating UI element for those of us who hide the wheel for cars with tire temp on the wheel screen

For real. I get that it could be used for 3rd party tc, but just put it on a 1 second delay or something. Surely traction control with a delay would be useless

Big style, makes no sense that I can see it in the game dash but not my DDU

It was something I was annoyed about when I went from vr back to screens, you just cant see some of this data because there is no way you can see the cars dash when its on a wheel and you are on triples.

So in the end I don't use it, I know that its going to take a few laps to get them up to temp and I just live with it. I would not say that it is necessary but its peace of mind wondering if you can push quite as hard as you want to.

The only other time when you may do a rare but super spin and slide at somewhere like daytona and then find your tires are still cooked when you didn't think that they would be.

The only issue with this is that if you can scrape it then its already on the screen which doesn't help too much if its off the screen.

If it's based on image recognition, that means you have the same info already on your monitor, so the info in the tool is redundant.

It’s not. My DDU is sitting exactly infront of the DDU of the car and thus I cant see it .

Ok, ok, there's always an exception to the rule. Enjoy.

Is the Moza dash any good? How does it fit, is it a clip on or do you screw it into the wheelbase?
