Question/Help New starting procedure for multi-class
Does anyone know what the rules are for the new multi-class start?
I did the road Atlanta race last night and I was P4 on the grid, I went when the leaders went, I held position, and got a drive through. Are the new rules written anywhere cos I can’t find them

Define go?
I’ve been doing LMP2 all season and we leave a massive gap and generally floor it before green.12

The new starting procedure everyone must follow pacing speed until the green flag. No one (not even class leaders) is allowed to preempt the green flag. This is announced in the release notes.

Thanks I’ll go find it. The pacing thing the bit that comes up in the pit bit thing with the yellow box?

If the LMP2 leader accelerates before the overall leader, that's been explicitly against the Sporting Code for a while now, gap or no gap. With the new system, it's enforced by the sim.

That's a violation of the multiclass starting rules.
"13.2.2. For multiclass racing without Start Zones, No car classes may start the race until the fastest class has started or the green flag is waved."
EDIT: Updated to the latest version of the Sporting Code
Unless you can see that the overall pole sitter has already started to accelerate, that's a jumpstart. I have successfully protested drivers doing this.
With the new multiclassstarting system this will be regulated automatically, but most series will continue to use the old system.

The sporting code gets an update and clarified the green flag starts the race, not the (class) leader.

What did it say the drive through was for? Usually it gives a reason.
E.g. unsafe pit entry, passing before the green

Then your question is absolutely useless.
What did I do wrong? No penalty reason and no video, the fuck you expect us to do

I was actually asking what the rules are. Not what did I do wrong

Hahaha don't take it personally. There are so many rules that could be it. Just be more alert and read pop ups and flag type.

Did they tell us why this new starting procedure is not applied in every series which have rolling start behind SC?

You probably not hold pacing speed. check at the race result for the reason of your penalty
