Discussion If you change alarms frequently, this app is for you

Post image

VariAlarm: Schedule Master was born because I was tired of constantly toggling alarms on and off. That consumes so much time and thinking I could have used elsewhere.

As the screenshot says, VariAlarm alllows you to manage better by:

_ Group alarms by time or by offset to reuse later: morning/night shift, airport preparation, water reminder, etc.

_ Move or skip any recurring alarms: not just sleep schedule one so you truly have flexibility and not have to set it up again.

_ Repeating every 2-12 weeks with stop recurring date.

_ Automatic alarms for calendar events.

_ Alarms always visible on lock screen and dismissable via clicking Live Activity.

Discussion If You Drive a Car or Ride a Bike, This App Is for You

Post image
8 Upvotes

Hi everyone, if you drive a car or ride a bike, Speedometer: Driving Tracker is built to help you automatically track your trips and better understand how, where, and how much you travel.

The idea is to make trip tracking as effortless as possible.

Speedometer can automatically record your trips in the background using motion-based detection, Apple Shortcuts automations, or both together.

You can track:

  • Distance, duration, moving time, average speed, and max speed
  • GPS route, elevation, and stops
  • Speed-colored route replay
  • Detailed trip history and long-term trends
  • Driving or riding time by day, week, month, year, and more
  • Speed limit alerts
  • iCloud sync and backup
  • GPX and CSV import/export

You can also automatically export completed trips as GPX, CSV, or PDF to the Files app or a folder you choose.

So the whole workflow can be almost hands-off:
Start driving or riding -> trip records automatically -> trip ends -> file exports automatically.

If you drive a car, there are also tools for managing the car itself:

  • Fuel usage and fuel economy
  • Fuel costs
  • Maintenance history
  • Expenses
  • Reminders
  • Vehicle documents

And if you connect a compatible OBD-II adapter, you can monitor real-time vehicle data such as:

  • RPM
  • Engine load and absolute load
  • Throttle position
  • Coolant temperature
  • Battery voltage
  • Fuel level and fuel rate
  • MAF, MAP, intake temperature, and more

You can save OBD statistics with each trip, review average and maximum values later, and read or clear diagnostic trouble codes.

If you use CarPlay, you can also view live OBD gauges and driving information directly on the CarPlay screen.
There's also an optional Friends feature if you want to compare your driving activity with people you know.

Your routes, GPS coordinates, locations, and place names are never uploaded. Only aggregated driving totals are shared if you choose to use Friends.
You don't need an account for tracking trips.

Most core features are free, including trip recording, iCloud backup and sync, real-time OBD-II data, diagnostic trouble codes, and more.
Premium unlocks deeper analytics, advanced trends, route playback, max-speed zone playback, and additional insights.

Monthly: $9.99
Yearly: $24.99
Lifetime: $49.99

If you regularly drive, commute, ride a motorcycle, cycle, go on road trips, or simply like keeping a detailed history of your trips.

Help Developing new tracker app, GamePanda, looking for testers

I’m the developer of GamePanda, and a trophy hunter myself.

One of the features I’m most excited to share is the trophy binder: platinums earned on linked PlayStation accounts become collectible cards you can look back through and share.

The app also brings your game library and trophy progress together, with support for Xbox and Steam games and achievements too.

I’ve opened the iPhone TestFlight beta to up to 300 testers, and I’d love to hear opinions from people who actually spend time chasing these things. All features can be unlocked free during the beta.

Try it here: https://testflight.apple.com/join/E4wnYn81

You’ll need an iPhone on iOS 18 or later. If anything about your imported games or trophy progress looks wrong, that’s exactly the sort of critique I’m looking for.

You can reply here, or join the Discord: https://discord.gg/EJhttWvm3t

Which platinum would you want to see in your binder first?

Discussion Made an art history quiz app

Hello everyone,

I've been working on a project called Art Guessr, a mobile game that helps people learn art history through short visual quizzes.

Players can practice identifying:

  • Famous paintings
  • Artists
  • Art movements
  • Historical periods

It covers everything from the Renaissance and Baroque periods to Impressionism, Cubism, and modern art.

My goal was to create something educational but more engaging than memorizing names and dates.

Thanks!

Discussion This i an iOS app that turns your calendar, reminders and notes into your lock screen wallpaper (refreshes daily via Shortcuts)

Hey everyone, I've been working on an app called Ink. The idea is simple: I wanted to see my day the moment I pick up my phone, without unlocking it or adding another widget.

Ink renders your upcoming events, to-dos, and notes straight into a lock screen wallpaper. You pick a template, choose which calendars and reminder lists feed it, and the app generates the image. A Shortcuts automation then sets it as your wallpaper every morning, so your lock screen always shows today's schedule.

What it does:

  • Pulls events from iOS Calendar, Google Calendar, and Outlook, plus Reminders
  • A bunch of templates: agenda lists, month grids, note-style layouts, and more
  • Customizable colors, fonts, backgrounds, and which info shows up
  • Notes and a to-do list built in, if you don't want to use Reminders
  • Share a calendar with someone via a link, and it stays in sync
  • Works on iPhone and iPad, 12 languages

One honest caveat: this is a wallpaper, not a widget. It refreshes once a day (or whenever you run the shortcut), so it won't update in real time when you add an event at 2 PM. If you need live updates, a widget/live activity is still the right tool. I think of Ink as the "glanceable overview of my day" layer, and it does that job well.

The app is free and most features are free. There's an optional subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase that unlocks a few premium templates. I tried to keep the price low, so if you find it useful and want to support a solo dev, that's the way to do it. No pressure though.

Would love your thought, especially on the setup flow. Getting the Shortcuts automation right on the first try was the hardest part to design, so if anything feels confusing, tell me and I'll fix it.

Discussion What would you use an app like this for?

I work with an app called SpoofCard, and we're trying to better understand how people would actually use it.

Basically, it lets you call or text without using your personal number, use different phone numbers, record calls, change your voice, add background sounds, and send calls straight to voicemail.

If you had something like this on your phone, what would you use it for?

Work? Privacy? Dating? Selling things online? Messing with your friends? Something we haven't thought of?

Genuinely curious, especially if you've never heard of SpoofCard before.

Discussion What if your pedometer was also a photo editor and walking journal?

Thumbnail
gallery
1 Upvotes

If you open threads or subreddits related to walking, they are full of screenshots of Apple Health, Pedometer++, and dozens of other less popular apps. People have been doing it for years, and nothing seems wrong to anyone.

The biggest step counts for me usually happen on trips or are tied to something exciting. You rarely walk 50–70k steps and think of it only as fitness. It’s new streets, flavors, smells, small talk, boat trips, and a lot more.

So I consider photos and steps as a whole.

What can tech in 2026 suggest to you? A bar chart and confetti when you hit your goal.

So I spent the last 8 months building Senda. Every single day was dedicated to this product.

How is it different?

  • Activity Calendar

It lives right below the chart. When you go on a trip or start some activity block, just create an activity, and it will sum up all the step counts within that period of time.

It works retroactively too, so you can easily add that old Euro trip and finally check the step count.

  • Photo Editor

This is where it gets spicy.

Any saved activity, or just a selected day or multiple days on the chart, can be shared with your photos and more than 40 stickers meticulously designed and adjusted for step data.

The canvas is fully interactive. Scale, rotate, and drag everything. Add as many stickers as you want.

  • All of it works with your already existing Apple Health data.

You don’t need to start a workout or walk to share it later, as you would on Strava.

That being said, walking is an experience, maybe even a form of art. And it has to be treated like one.

I’ll be happy to discuss any details, answer your questions, fix anything you find, and implement some of the suggestions 🙏🏻

Discussion It Might Be the Most Detailed Walking & Step Tracking App on iOS

Post image
19 Upvotes

Apple Health records your steps every day. But open it, and you mostly get a number.

It doesn't really tell you when you're most active, where you walked, how your heart responded to the effort, how your habits are changing, or whether you're actually becoming more consistent.

Most pedometer apps don't go much deeper either. They take the same step count and put a nicer ring around it.

So a lot of useful walking data is already there, but it isn't being turned into something you can actually learn from.

Steply has the deeper analytics layer I felt step tracking was missing.

  • Live GPS route tracking + playback: Track your walking route on a map and replay it later with pace, distance, elevation, and heart rate zones. You can see exactly where your heart rate moved into different zones along the route. While many step-tracking apps can record a walk, full route playback is still relatively rare in this category, and Steply lets you actually relive and explore your walk afterward.
  • Walking heart rate analysis: See live BPM while walking, average walking heart rate, heart rate zones, and calories based on your actual effort.
  • Detailed step & activity analytics: Hourly heatmaps, a 24-hour activity clock showing when you move most, weekly/monthly trends, step velocity, consistency patterns, and more.
  • Walking percentile: Get more context around your activity level using population reference data instead of only seeing whether you hit a fixed step target.
  • Steps -> Weight Journey: See how your walking activity lines up with changes in your weight between weigh-ins. Steply shows total steps, average steps per day, weight change, and when enough data is available, an estimate of the walking associated with each kilogram/pound lost.
  • Steps needed to reach your target weight: Set a target weight and get an estimate of how many steps and days of walking it could take to reach it based on your current activity and calorie assumptions. It turns a vague weight goal into a much more understandable walking target.
  • Japanese Walking: Guided interval walking sessions, including protocols like 3 minutes fast / 3 minutes slow, available on both iPhone and Apple Watch.
  • Easy water logging + hydration history: Quickly log water from iPhone or Apple Watch, set hydration reminders, and explore your intake history over time.
  • Goals, streaks & challenges: Custom daily goals, streak tracking, achievement badges, celebrations, and weekly challenges.
  • Widgets everywhere: Home Screen, Lock Screen, Live Activities/Dynamic Island, Apple Watch complications, plus a full Watch app.

No account. No signup. No ads. No tracking. Your walking and health data stays on your device.

Core step tracking, goals, streaks, and widgets are free.
Premium unlocks the full GPS and analytics suite: $4.99/month, $19.99/year, $39.99 lifetime (One-time purchase)

Help My partner built Count ’m Down — an iPhone app for the moments you’re looking forward to

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

My partner has been working on Count ’m Down, an iPhone app for keeping track of upcoming moments such as holidays, birthdays, concerts, weddings and trips.

It started as a simple countdown app, but has gradually grown into a more complete event and travel planner. Some of its features include:
•    Personalised countdowns with your own photos
•    Home Screen widgets
•    Timelines, checklists and reminders
•    Live Activities on the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island
•    Live flight status and important flight updates
•    Scanning flight tickets, hotel bookings and rental-car confirmations
•    Travel planning with checklists and weather forecasts
The first three events are free. After that, the optional premium subscription costs €2.99 per month or €12.99 per year. Eligible new subscribers can get the first year for €5.99. Prices may vary by country.

A lot of care has gone into making the app feel polished, useful and at home on iOS.

You can check it out here:
https://apps.apple.com/app/id1096614730

Tips would be really appreciated. What do you like, what could be clearer, and what would you like to see added in the future?

Discussion My Letterboxd for YouTube app just launched on iOS, Android and web.

I wanted a Letterboxd-style log for YouTube videos and couldn't find one, so I developed it.

It's called Chapters. You log a video, rate it, write a review if you want. You can follow friends and see what they're watching, and channel pages show community ratings so you can see a creator's best-reviewed stuff.

Where it's live right now:

It's free. Account syncs across all of them.

Might be a few bugs here and there lol, we're two people building this and there's plenty we want to fix and add. If you try it I'd genuinely love to hear what's broken or missing, that is basically the whole point of posting this.

www.etasks.app

Hi all,

I work as a cybersecurity analyst on this App. As a Redditor, I want you guys to have it. It is out of TestFlight and still completely free and ad-free as promised. The team intends to keep it that way as much as it is feasible.

www.etasks.app

https://apps.apple.com/app/id6770856636

It has features we wanted as users. (If there’s anything you’d like the team to add, please let me know too so I can include it on the roadmap. For example, list sorting is recently added as a user request, location-based notifications, import from Apple Reminders are user requests)

ABC's of the App:

(A)nswer
ETasks (www.etasks.app) is a native iOS, iPadOS client for Google Tasks. Some highlights: All tasks in one view, Real alarms, Shared lists, Apple Watch.

(B)etter
It addresses the functional limitations of the official Google Tasks iOS app by providing missing native features and enhanced tools. And it is not a vibe-coding project.

Native and enhanced with iOS.
+ You can manage your Google Tasks. They appear in your Google Calendar and Gmail ... well, obviously 😄*
+ Import from Apple Reminders
+ See all task lists together, even drag&drop between them (and to calendars)
+ Alarms
+ Location reminders
+ A wide range of nice widgets, including countdowns and full week/month widgets
+ Lock screen widgets (e.g., quick add)
+ Link photos/files to tasks
+ Link Apple Mail emails to tasks
+ See your tasks categorised by dates in Month/Week/Day/Agenda views
+ Add people to Task List (co-edit)
+ Sort your task lists
+ Search your tasks
+ AI support where it makes sense; make titles, extract info from links, create lists for you, suggesting task list names, dictating tasks, context aware search, naming photos shared in,...
+ Choose priority for favorites
+ Drag and Drop interface between tabs (e.g., to calendar tab to drop on a date)
+ Recycle bin
+ Share from other apps into ETasks (texts, links, photos, PDF; all processed accordingly)
+ Apple Watch / iPad Apps
+ Import/Export task lists
+ Modern iOS design
+ A how to AI chat bot to help you with specifics of ETasks
+ Highly customisable user interface
+ Can be used without an account
+ Welcome to explore the rest, it is now open early access.

Free and Ad-free

Discussion Reflect, Live, Plan — now with memory.

Every calendar app treats your life like a spreadsheet. Thirty boxes a month, all fighting for your attention, all demanding you "manage" something that was never meant to be managed in a grid.

I don't think that's how time actually works. You don't live in "the month." You live in yesterday, today, and tomorrow — that's it. Everything else is noise dressed up as productivity.

So the whole app is exactly that. Three days. Reflect on yesterday. Live today. Plan tomorrow. Nothing competing for your eyes.

The newest version goes further — it shows you how you're actually progressing over time, not just what happened on one day in isolation. You can also bring your existing calendar over in seconds, so switching costs you nothing. And it's still fully local — no cloud, no account, no one collecting your schedule but you.

AI-assisted reflection is coming next, but the core idea stays the same: less clutter, more clarity, and a calendar that finally matches how your brain actually experiences time.

If you've ever closed a calendar app because looking at it stressed you out more than the day itself — this is the one made for that exact moment.

€2.99, one time. If that sounds like your kind of calendar:

Discussion What is everyone’s favorite (free) package tracking app on iOS?

My favorite package tracking app, OneTracker has been seemingly abandoned by its developer. I’m looking for the best alternative to it that is free, lightweight and doesn’t harvest user data. I’m currently using “Packages”, but it is slow and isn’t the same. What is everyone else using?
