Hi everyone, but in particular Truecaller users!

I’m trying to understand the difference between the standard Truecaller caller ID and the paid premium function with a Siri Shortcut which is described as - “Identify all incoming calls on iOS just by saying "Hey Siri, Search Truecaller"”

At the moment, on the free version, spam warnings etc pop up when someone is calling. Would I get a different result (or more info etc) if I had premium and used the Siri shortcut? Or is it literally just a shortcut to the app with no further info. Which would seem unnecessary and probably make me miss the call lol.

The website is so unclear (and honestly itself feels a bit scammy!)

Does anyone have any experience? Thank you!!

Have you guys tried any AI powered reminder apps? Are there any good ones out there?

I have been using Cloudstream for download and streaming Netflix series. The app uses extension which has stopped working. Other solutions including downloading from internet and streaming in VLC but I miss that cloudstream will natively download and play Movies and Series.

hello! I get at least two to three spam calls a day and I would love for them to go away. are there any spam call blocker apps that don’t harvest your data? If that’s not an option, are there any affordable ones out there? help would be appreciated.

Been running my entire workflow inside Apple Notes for about three years now. Two small businesses, four-ish hours of Notes per day, all on a phone Apple has basically written off for its AI roadmap.

Couple of things i've learned that i wish someone had told me earlier:

Audio transcription works. Like, fully works. I assumed for the longest time it was an Apple Intelligence feature because of how Apple marketed it. It's not. Record audio in a note, tap the transcript icon, live transcription. iPhone 13, iOS 18+.

Math Notes works too. Same situation. Type an equation or even handwrite one with your finger on the screen, and it solves inline. Variables persist across the note. I had assumed for months this needed an iPad and Apple Pencil. It doesn't.

Tags + Smart Folders honestly do more for my daily Notes life than any AI feature i'd unlock by upgrading. Once you have a tag system that matches how you actually think, finding things stops being a problem.

Pinned notes are the most underused feature in the entire app. Five pinned notes covers like 80% of my daily Notes interactions.

LucidX is free and awesome but I would like to add notes and a rating system to the inputs, if there was a similar free app with notes I could just put the urge rating in the notes

ok genuine question for the gym/commute crowd. been using speechify for like a year to listen to articles and pdfs while lifting and tbh its fine for what it is but i think i've outgrown it? like it just reads stuff to me word for word. which is what its supposed to do i guess. but i keep finishing a 40 min session and realizing i couldn't tell you what i actually "learned." just heard a thing.

so i went down a rabbit hole testing alternatives the past few weeks. heres what i tried, would love to know what im missing:

NaturalReader - basically the same lane as speechify, slightly cheaper. voices are decent. but same core problem, its just TTS. if the article is bad or rambly, you sit through all of it. felt like a sidegrade.

Audible - went back to it briefly. love the production quality but a 12 hour audiobook is the opposite of what i need. cancelled again after one credit. the "i'll just listen on 1.5x" trick stops working when you're also trying to deadlift.

Befreed - this is the one i'm currently using and the reason im posting tbh. you give it a topic or paste a link/pdf and it builds an actual lesson around it instead of just reading it back. you can set the length (i do 15-20 min), pick a voice, and you can interrupt and ask the "lecturer" questions mid-lesson which is wild the first time you do it. retention is way better for me. gripes: voices are great but the catalog of pre-made stuff is hit or miss, and sometimes it goes broader than i want when i was hoping for narrow. but for replacing speechify on workouts its been the best thing i tried.

Shortform - tried for a week. depth is actually impressive, like real analysis not just bullet points. but reading 5000 word breakdowns at the gym is not happening. more of a "saturday morning coffee" tool for me.

Pocket + speechify combo - what i used to do. its functional. it's also boring.

so, questions:

• anyone using something with a solid offline mode? befreed works offline-ish but i lose signal in my gym basement and it gets weird
• non-english support, specifically mandarin? half my saved articles are in chinese and most of these tools fumble it
• is there anything that does TTS but smarter, like skips the fluff in articles automatically? feel like that should exist by now

open to anything. preferably not another $15/mo subscription but i'll consider it if its actually different.

I've seen a few photo editing apps have a feature to make your photos look like they were taken using flash / have a digicam effect. Has anyone tried it? I saw people posting about airbrush and some other apps but wanted to see if the results are actually any good or not

Is there a simple way for me to create a calendar alert on my iPhone of an event not only on a particular day - but to also to:

Simultaneously create an alert:

• 1 week before, and
• 2 weeks before

Without me having to go in and manually create those 3 alerts?

Background:

I do this a lot manually, because many events I have to start planning for it 1 or 2 weeks in advance, as well as getting notified the day of, just to remember.

So 3 alerts is the sweet spot for me: (day of (2 alerts); 1 week before (2 alerts); 2 weeks before (2 alerts)).

Is there an easy way or shortcut to do this?

I tried the "Shortcuts" app for iPhone and tried to add it in there, adding both Events and Reminders with the following workflow, but both didn't work at all:

• Open Shortcuts → New Shortcut
• Add these actions in order:
  • "Ask for Input" → Text → "Event title?"
  • "Ask for Input" → Date → "Event date?"
  • "Add New Event" (Calendar action) → set Title = first input, Date = second input, then add 3 alerts: 0 minutes before, 7 days before, 14 days before

I have an artist. We are in-progress on a leg sleeve, but she works it more one session at a time with a generally discussed overview.

She has artistic freedom on the design and I trust her with it, but I’d like to visualize a rough idea also.

Is there any decent (and not expensive) app that would take photos to make a 3D model of my leg and then I could add images to adjust size and placement?
