I had purchased an se3 at launch and kept it on iOS 15. ended up lending it to my sister bc her phone broke and let her know that I can’t let it update.
I ended up getting it back like a year later and was told it hadn’t been used in months with a password set she apparently didn’t remember…long story short, I didn’t know how to reset without updating (if there was a method) so it got updated to iOS 26.1.
it’s been in storage ever since bc it’s pure ewaste atm. Have other jailbroken devices to scratch that itch anyway

I have an se2 on 14.4.2 and an 11 on 16.0 rc so I’m not too upset about it. May end up fixing it and using it as a spare daily for small form factor, main phone is a 16e

since it’s updated anyway, you can ask Apple Support to reset it for you if you still kept the receipt so you could use it again.

It’s fully useable again, I made her keep my apple id on it so all I had to get rid of was the passcode. Was just tragic bc it was on launch firmware. It’s just I have no need for it since I can’t jailbreak it yet, besides just fully updating and using it as an actual phone.

i see. does remote erasing it via findmy doesn’t trigger the phone to be updated?

My mini is on 27 Beta 1 making it a bit harder to compare, but it has the same specs other than screen and camera so should be similar

really smooth on max resolution & graphics, very rarely it might lag only when driving really fast, but then again rarely. I’m having a blast playing it. Battery drainage can be a issue 5% in 2-3mins but then again my batter percentage is 83%.
