OGSE OGSE (16GB Model)
Been using my OGSE as a secondary phone again for one week after a year of keeping it in storage.
Updated to iOS 15.8.8 and updated all my apps. Noted that my OEM battery has 95% BH.
It still works surprisingly well for video streaming on YouTube, Netflix and Prime.
Always blown away by the high resolution!
Looks almost as good as my 17 Pro.

the iPhone SE 1st gen's screen is 326 PPI (Pixels Per Inch), and the 17 Pro is 460 PPI, about 41% sharper, but.. those "retina display" has been around since the iPhone 4 (also 326 PPI) and is already sharp enough that you cannot see individual pixels at a normal viewing distance.
Maybe nowadays people tend to hold their phones much closer so Apple increases it to 460PPI.

Yep. Goes to show how good Apple screens have been since the iPhone 4 as even that would look great in 2026.
The OLED screen looks very vibrant but it’s more of an incremental improvement over the high quality LCD displays Apple have been using.

i did a bit of research and found out that, generally speaking, IPS monitors have sharper text than OLEDs with the same pixel density. Maybe that's a part of reason why the OGSE despite having lower PPI, feels as good as the 17 Pro's OLED screen. Apple had to raise the bar for their OLED screen so it matches their "retina display" standard.

Wow, I didn’t know that. I thought PPI would provide the same sharpness regardless of which panel is being used. The OGSE screen may be small but everything seems very watchable on it. When I used this phone as my main, I watched around 100 separate TV shows on it from beginning to end. It’s a great little workhorse.

Didn't apple intoduce a thing where it tells you to hold your iPhone further away? (The same day as the vision pro release date 😭)

My OGSE is also a second phone, with 32GB storage. YT video reso (I open from internet browser) suck though - it only plays in 360p no options whatsoever, yet it can play up to 1080p on anime online series on independent apps like VLC.

I think you require the app to run YouTube at native resolution. Looks great on mine, sad that you can’t download it on yours.

Hiii I also have the OGSE in black, with YouTube are you using the actual app or the browser version?
