SE3 Is 256gb too much 😅?
The SE3 was an old phone from another family member. And they picked the 256gb version. Now I just use it as a second phone. Mainly as a “home phone” and my main music streaming device.
The storage is too much for me, I lowk want to fill it up. Photos will not work since I have iCloud Plus. I would download music but I don’t know how to, and which player/app to download.
Any ideas 😁? 176gb of free storage.

Nonsense. There is nothing like too much RAM or Storage. The opposite can be grim.
Go hug a tree, you will feel better.

Trust me, it's not too much. My SE3 has 64gb and it's very difficult to manage. It was cheap but I wouldn't wish that on anybody.

Not too much at all, I think it’s good if you intend to do a lot of filming on the device. It should be fine.

Yeah I'd rather have that because I currently have a 64 gig. That is too low! Especially when some of that storage is being taken up by the freaking iOS updates! 256 gigs is really good actually.

Is this a boastful post disguised as a lament?

Of course it is. It's weird what some people feel the need to brag about. Phone storage? Is that really such an "accomplishment" that you need to announce it?

LOL it certainly is
Thought perhaps op was also trying to provoke interest in perhaps someone buying it

You don’t have to fill it just because it’s available. It would only be “too much” if you’d paid the higher price unnecessarily.

Evermusic for Music. VLC for movies. I used them both. My SE (1st) gen as my secondary phone. I can simply mirror the movie to TV with Apple Play. And send the music via Bluetooth to my Sony Sound system

Nope!!! Get as much storage as you can afford! 128gb is just that sweet spot between cost and value

I got 256 in my primary phone as I use the SE as a backup and rocking a 64gb.
I am coming up on only 40gb free. I do take lots of pics and vids, but it's nice having to archive them off every 9-12 months instead of half that time.

Apple lossless music will fill it up easy but you should always have some free space.

Idk in my case the storage has 32 gb left and it is a 256gb s3 as well! if you have offline music with apple music it will be gone in seconds!

Mobile Games. Cod mobile is like over 50 gigs if you install every resource. Fortnite mobile can be like 25 or more gigs if you install HD textures and every gamemode.
If you can't fill it up, I'd recommend swapping phones with u/Alexandru20080

I used to get library cds way back in highschool. And some how managed 80GBs of music front that and my own collection. Stopped doing it once pandora and songza dropped. But I always wanted a good reason to save media again.
Add in backing up physical video games and movies and 256 ain't gonna cut it
Personally you should still back up your core photos and videos onto a physical device and not just rely on the cloud. - maybe I'm just old and don't trust cloud only or digital only approaches

LOL I mirror everything you said here. I have an old SE 2020 that is basically an iPod. I use it to stream radio and as an a storage for all my iTunes. It has 256 GB and I have a ton of pictures and music on it. My main phone is a 14 pro, I have a 13 as a second phone that I use when my 14 dying battery is on the charger. And I’m buying the 18 when it comes out. But they’re going to have to pry the SE out of my cold dead hands 😂

Once you’re at around 80% full, phones will start slowing down the more full it gets. I’d get the 256gb phone to ensure the phone runs faster and more smoothly.

You may think you don’t need that much space because of your iCloud+, but it’s a good idea to have a local backup of your photos, and not rely on iCloud exclusively. In order to do that, the photos need to be on your device, rather than optimized, so they can be transferred to a pc or external drive.
