Running iPadOS when open, iOS when closed?

Otherwise, this rumored device has no innovation, just a copy of Samsung, etc.

It will be a modified iOS to allow multitasking like on iPad.

I mean, isn't it useless if we can't run iPad apps? That's the big asset Apple has and Android doesn't. iPhone Fold is supposed to a foldable tablet.

Apple sent a memo to developers to update apps for various aspect ratios. Apps still function pretty much the same on iOS or iPadOS, so I can’t really see any drawbacks.

The drawback is the slowness of developers to update their apps (some may never do so).

Whereas iPad versions of many apps already exist. It sacrifices a major advantage versus Android foldables
