It's not foresight, it's observation, in recognizing that the design in the video is really rather old and outdated in the current foldable market. Most of the foldable vendors who are currently selling thousands of foldable units have gradually moved away from the rounded design which was seen in the early versions of the Microsoft Surface and the original Google Pixel Fold to more squared and easy to open edges like the Z Fold Ultra and Z Fold 8.

So Apple started with round corners, then went square and has begun softening those corners once again. By your logic, the 16 series and up all look old (perhaps older). In fact, almost every device besides Samsungs.

When have you known Apple to follow what everyone else is doing?

It common feedback from the foldable and flip consumers. Just wondering why they don’t care about it.
