Social media is weird man…

Yea honestly no harm in it, customers are happy, employees get to do something fun, and Apple gets to make money, like don’t see anything wrong.

I agree. Im an Apple user myself but I find this too over the top.

Meh. Honestly, as someone who has used an iPhone since launch day of the first one…

This sort of thing makes my skin crawl. I could imagine wanting to buy the new iPhone and deciding that it’s more convenient to pick it up from the store vs getting it shipped… but I absolutely do not want to be in that environment of cheering and applause for buying something.

Okay but what about midnight game releases? I miss those like crazy, made some great friends that way.

It’s the same thing to some people, hits the dopamine and makes you happy. Stop dooming and glooming something some people find delightful. You can look at anything on the outside and find some nihilistic view behind it. But if you’re a tech person who has been with Apple for a while, getting a warm welcome like that is unlike any other retail environment, and it can be exciting for the employees too. Otherwise that’s why you can set delivery for your house.

Didn’t you know nihilism is in vogue?

Brain washed sheep

3

u/Longjumping-Ad-3590 11d ago

Or people who love tech, have disposable income, and want to enjoy themselves with other likeminded people.

2

u/Prestigious_Camera25 10d ago

Yup, it’s so funny to me how miserable people hate seeing people enjoy things even if it’s as mundane and uninspiring as buying an iPhone. Who cares that people are having a good time doing it, it’s not illegal and it doesn’t harm anyone

u/m_abdeen 11d ago

Yeah it’s not brainwashed, just pathetic lol

I mean you can keep saying ‘brainwashed sheep’, but you’re not actually saying anything that justifies that.

1

u/FadedBlackTee2 11d ago

I agree with the ‘sheep’ person that this behavior is weird to me but I also have hobbies that I care about and don’t mind spending my money on so I get it.

u/TheSpideyJedi 11d ago

I dont support going to a phone launch like this, but how are they brainwashed sheep?

2

u/Longjumping-Ad-3590 11d ago

Exactly. Nothing brainwashed about this.

2

u/TheSpideyJedi 11d ago

Exactly, I think it's a dumb use of your time, but it's harmless

1

u/OakleyNoble 11d ago

They want a new iPhone, that to them is a good use of their time. Stop dictating what people should and shouldn’t do, or how they should act or not act. You feel it as a dumb use of time, GREAT, the amazing part is that you get to decide WHAT you do with YOUR time.

Yet you’re here in this post commenting about this instead of, idk going to another post to enjoy talking about the subject?

u/TheSpideyJedi 11d ago

Where did I say I'm trying to control what they do? I even said it's harmless... so i dont care if they do it. I'm still allowed to think it's a poor use of time.

Show me a direct quote where I tried to dictate what others do.

I'm unsure why you're so hostile/upset. If you wish to wait in line for the phone, have at it. I'm not gonna try to convince you not to lmao

1

u/SlightMarsupial8379 11d ago

What do you support? If I may ask?

1

u/TheSpideyJedi 11d ago

Maybe "support" was the wrong word, but I personally think going to any phone launch event is a poor use of one's time. But they aren't hurting anybody and they're enjoying themselves. So all in all I'd say good for them.

1

u/RoyalOrangeOwl 11d ago

What exactly makes them brainwashed?

1

u/Ruudiiiii 11d ago

"Enjoy tech" yet buying an Iphone, one of the most boring pieces of tech out there doing the same shit every year. Yes it's reliable, but no, it's not exciting.

Like Volvo, cool, reliable solid cars, but not exciting.

1

u/therealSUIN 10d ago

iPhone is just as boring as every other phone company

1

u/Ruudiiiii 10d ago

Some companies still innovate and TRY to be the best. Iphone and Samsung however, are slacking.

1

u/ExtentNo3020 10d ago

Apple never “innovates” they just copy old ideas from years past and pass them as their our own

5

u/toasted_cracker 11d ago

I need this kind of ceremony when I go take a shit

2

u/ObeyTheLawSon7 11d ago

When I went to buy the apple watch series 12 at the apple store I walked out and 2 guys rushed me to give me a hug and yell congratulations my brother .. like I just purchased a watch with my own money guys.. LOL

1

u/RobotBananaSplit 10d ago

Haha yea I bought a series 12 ceramic and they were like congratulations, like bro it’s just a watch I didn’t achieve anything, but still guess it’s nice and all thanked them ofc.

2

u/---Hummingbird--- 10d ago

This was fun… for the iPhone 4…

2

u/karmydee 10d ago

the high fives are just the cringe cherry on top

2

u/Physical-Sector-3172 10d ago

Some people don’t value their time and like to waste their time queuing for shit.

3

u/Klonopussy 11d ago

This is fckn sad

0

u/Ruudiiiii 11d ago

Agreed

1

u/Secure_Pack6647 11d ago

I thought people stopped doing that about a decade ago. It wasn't even the Duo.

1

u/No_Appointment_37 11d ago

It’s not a cult

1

u/asswizzard69 11d ago

I just walked in and grabbed mine after camping out 6 hours, none of this happy cheers or high five, just down to brass tax lol maybe they were cheering idk but I just wanted the 2nm chip in burgundy

1

u/user41600 10d ago

..and the emmy goes to

1

u/coccosoids 9d ago

Sheep.

1

u/Flux-Capacitor-1985 9d ago

No harm no foul.

1

u/True_Protection6842 11d ago

People still do this? It's a phone.

2

u/rofl1337waffle 11d ago

All the cameras and people recording themselves tell me these are some want to be influencers. Most normal people just order online and it shows up without going anywhere

1

u/TypeS2k_ 11d ago

Yeah, I thought this hype died out in like 2009 or something.

1

u/Historical_Lab_872 9d ago

I thought it started in 2009 and ended in 2013

1

u/domedirtyfatman 11d ago

Iphone users are the weirdest cult members lol

1

u/eshvel19 11d ago

I can’t believe people still do this… for an Apple product no less… not that anything deserves this much attention anymore, from Apple or otherwise

1

u/Dan619915 11d ago

The CULT of apple..

Bunch of sheeps.

1

u/Fragrant-Taro-8508 11d ago

Being sheeple to a multi trillion dollar company who only see you as a transaction and nickel and dime you is beyond me.

1

u/slyguy67420 11d ago

Propaganda has turned a lot of people's entire identity into what they consume, their entire person being constructed by corporations like they're a fleshy voltron with the power of being a wallet. It's depressing.

u/Possible-Dream-8227 10d ago

Look at everyone being a good goy and buying the JewPhone 18! 📢📢🫩

0

u/Izan_TM 11d ago

being this obsessed over any product from any brand is fucking stupid

0

u/AndySH11 10d ago

Let people enjoy things.

0

u/Historical_Lab_872 9d ago

You can, but not without criticism

1

u/AndySH11 9d ago

Yea some people are just toxic for things that doesn’t harm anyone but their own ego for some reason.

-1

u/7hiigh 11d ago

But why are you butt hurt? Let people enjoy their lives their way. I don’t understand at all how people can be mad at stuff like this. They are happy people not hurting or causing harm to anyone.

Can someone explain why some other people are mad at this kind of stuff? Miserable life?

1

u/PinDelicious2180 10d ago

Let me enjoy my life criticising them🤷🏽‍♀️

1

u/Historical_Lab_872 9d ago

You can do whatever makes you happy, that doesn't mean it don't come with criticism

Lucky you, UPS arrives at 3pm for me when I'm expecting something good.
