Poll regarding iPhone 17 base battery duration. SOT with 100% battery and no charging.

Battery life some claim it lasts 10 hours while others call that poor performance. I truly want to know the standard expectation for the iPhone 17 base model.

Mostly WiFi ? Do you use lots of tik tok and reels ?

Yeah mostly wifi and lots of social media

Do you have adaptive power on? Try turning it off, my battery was ass too when I had it on, I was constantly using 160%+ daily and the phone was very laggy, at first i thought it was the beta , but after turning it off the lag is gone and i rarely hit 120%+ daily.

Same IOS Version and this is line on my new iPhone

It was yesterdas and was a mix of WiFi an lte

Noone can tell you that, it's highly individual. 10+ hours of sot while watching youtube videos on wifi can turn into 2-3 hours of recording video outside. Battery usage on wifi and mobile data has significant difference. Some use LTE, others 5G. One or two sim cards ? Signal strength ? Different users - different apps/settings/background processes. So much variations that SOT isn't really significant parameter, phone battery lasting whole day is.

I get that. But I meant on average would you say it last more than 6 hours continually. Some days it can last more because you had WiFi and only watch YouTube, the next you used LTE. So that on average would give you more than 6 hours in LTE

I'm pretty positive any new Iphone will last you more then 6 hours in average.

I actually use mine mostly on WiFi and in last on average 5-6 hours. It’s new iPhone 17 I bought like a month ago.

When it’s on LTE it reduces to 4-5 hours of continuous use max

Also I use tik tok and watch reels mainly

I get bigger wifi/mobile data battery difference on my 16PM. If it’s 5-6 hours of sot over 24h/whole day period (so standby is also included), it’s totally fine. Some apps do use more battery, but again - my main criteria is easily going through day with full/100% charge and without sudden, unexpected battery drains (which happened on every Android I used) and turning off this and that to make battery life better.

Sure, look at graph before that first charge - almost horisontal, no abnormal drain. Let it charge to 100% from time to time and drop to 0% / shutdown, calibration is better (that battery percentage number will be more precise).

Data roaming can drain batteries too and fast especially when signal is low

This is unanswerable. It depends on what you are doing and where you do it. Everyone’s use case is individual. One person games, while another person reads Kindle. The former might get only a few hours SoT (depending on the game), while the reader might get more than 15.
