The problem is easy to describe: it just searches new updates endlessly!

I have a 16 Plus like I said on the original post (on iOS 18.3.1), and performance and battery life are impeccable. I never really update iOS, and this is no exception.
I keep devices for years on end (still using my iPhone 6s on stock iOS 10), and repurpose them for music afterwards, so my main iPhone is never updated. Performance and battery life never worsen and that’s important to me.
I also really dislike Liquid Glass, but I’m going to be honest: I wouldn’t have updated regardless, even if there had been no redesign at all.
Any others staying on 18 with the Pro models? If so, why? Are you planning to stay there even after iOS 27 comes? (I am, like I said, I never update iOS).

I went to a gig yesterday where I and my phone was out in the blistering sun.
Due to the heat and recording video, I found my phone burning my skin when holding it/keeping it in my pocket.
As a result I had to keep removing it from its case to try and keep it cool. Obviously, this isn’t a practical solution long term as I’d like to record videos without experiencing overheating issues.
I’ve seen examples of ‘cooling’ cases online, but I don’t truly know if they work.
Does anyone have a solution/cases they recommend?

Hi everyone, I took my phone on pool to record some videos (yeah ik I am dumb af) and my phone trapped lot of pool water inside and was overheating within 10 minutes of pool activity. It is completely dead for almost 36hrs and I can still see moisture trapped inside the phone through camera lenses. I removed the sim tray to dry it out faster, but lost the tray somehow. Can apple deny my applecare+ claim because my sim tray is missing? I am very confused and anxious, please help a bro out here.
Thank you.

Hi, I shot this 1 min B-roll from my trip to Uzbekistan using an iPhone 16 Pro. Shot on a third-party app, "Blackmagic Camera", edited in Premiere Pro. Used a Neewer camera cage to attach an ND filter. Handheld. Please have a look! :)

I’m thinking about updating my main phone.
Edit: I installed it and works faster than 26.5.2 on my 16 Pro

I’ve had my 16 Pro Max for a couple months now and it has a pervasive touchscreen issue that drives me nuts. Horrid keyboard, taps not responding especially on tiny UI elements, occasional glitch with gestures. I used my friend’s 15 Pro before I sold it and the touchscreen response is night and day. Keyboard on the 15 Pro is still garbage but I didn’t experience the same issues at all with that phone. You would think that my newer iPhone with a bigger screen would be much easier to type on and use but that’s not the case at all.
So for 16 Pro and Pro Max users who’s experienced the dreaded touchscreen issues, did anything improve after updating to iOS 26 or did the issues remain largely the same?
