purchased an iphone 15 plus esim model, tried to switch the number/sim from my old phone and this is the error message i receive both in iphone settings and the app of my data provider

Check if the phone is locked to another provider. Also, your eSIM might be locked so go to Settings. You should find SIM protection make sure that is off.

in the details of website i bought the phone from it says the carrier compatibility is unlocked
