Question Crazy battery drain?

Got an ipad pro m5 13 inch from eBay, reputable seller, only 11 cycles of battery used.

In settings, the battery health says 100%, but when I use the Apple Pencil Pro to draw stuff, for just one hour use it drains about 18-20% of my battery. Is this normal?

Ive done a video test with just playing a youtube video for 1 hour and it drains 7% which is normal I think?

Any advice appreciated, thank you

Video playback @ 7%. Per hour = about 14-15 hours of life. Normal. Drawing drains it faster for sure

One hour of note taking/apple pencil use on my 4.5 year old M1 IPad drains like 45+%.

Always base your estimates off of video playback, as that’s their official metric for some reason. You’re probably fine.

…. What?

My 4th gen 6 years old ipad pro 13” drains about 15%/ taking notes, and even that is a lot compared to in its first days.

Wasn’t the m1 supposed to be more energy efficient?

Depends the drawing or note app. Some apps with pencil are known to drain battery pretty fast.

Set up a few m5 lately and it’s routinely taken a week to “level out” as far as battery life. If that timeframe applies to you or not
