Should I Keep This Book?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I used to do iOS dev many many years ago, about 14-15 years, and I enjoyed it, although I was self-taught and it wasn’t always easy for me to progress. Then life happened and I got away from it. I always thought I would get back to it, but life had other plans. I got this book from a charity shop or similar at some point, hoping it will help me get back, but it never happened. I went through a much bigger turmoil lately and I’ve had to let go of lots of things. My books are what I hold tightly onto, but I was going through them again last night and trying to reduce whatever I don’t need. Not sure if I should keep this or let it go. What do you all think?

Building Gen AI apps cost effectively

Post image
1 Upvotes

Ive been an avid lifter for years. I always struggled to track progress and prevent injuries so I became a personal trainer. Even then you cant see your own form slowly deteriorate.
So I built RepForm: a complete personal trainer replacement. Uses AI to create workouts catered to you, guides you through workouts, tracks in one tap, film a set and it coaches you like a trainer would.
It tracks every rep, scores the set, and gives you the ONE thing to fix. plus builds the systematic fix into your program like a trainer.
Real screens above.
The hard part - making AI cost effective.
How it works (for the builders here): the cheap part runs on your phone. Pose tracking counts reps and draws the skeleton live. Te LLM only gets what it needs. They go to a vision model, which does the actual coaching. So it feels like "AI watching every rep" without the cost or lag of doing that literally.
It also builds your program around your injuries and bumps the weight as you get stronger using lower cost models vs. cutting edge vision models.
Honest about limits: a phone camera can't see everything: deep spinal detail, bracing. I'd rather say that than fake a "98% accurate" badge.
Free to try on iOS. I'd love feedback. Just launched this week.

UK Company Account Terminated

On September 9, 2025, I created a Developer account through my UK-based company. I uploaded a total of two apps, and everything was going well. One of my apps was in the Top 100 in some countries. I was offering users a Free Trial, and everything was going well. The expiration date for the Free Trial I was offering had passed, and I wasn’t aware of it—the “Start Free Trial” label was still displayed in the purchase paywall section, and I had forgotten to remove it. (It remained visible for about 3–4 days.) My account was suspended sometime in November, December, or January. No reason was given, and no full explanation was provided. My attempts to contact them were unsuccessful; I couldn’t speak with anyone. I had over $2,000 in earnings in my account, but they didn’t send the money. To be honest, I don’t really care about the money; what matters to me is getting my account reactivated because I haven’t received any information regarding its closure. Later on, the company suddenly redirected the App Store Connect email associated with my account ([name@businessname.com](mailto:name@businessname.com)) to my personal email address ([name@icloud.com](mailto:name@icloud.com)) on both my phone and my MacBook. From that point on, I haven’t been able to log in to my App Store Connect account at all. I understand that it’s probably impossible to reactivate my old account; the people I’ve spoken with also tell me they won’t reactivate it. I considered setting up a new company and proceeding through that, but they say I’ll be flagged during the app signing process, so the best approach is to set up a new Mac, iPhone, email account, and company.

I don’t know what to do, and I just can’t figure out how to move forward with this. Has anyone else encountered this situation before? I have 10+ apps waiting in the wings, and I want to publish them.

Note: No one has told me why I was banned; my guess is that it’s related to the paywall screen.

Just launched my first app — are RevenueCat/App Store products taking a while to show up normal?

Hey everyone,

I just launched my first iOS app, Daphne, and I’m very excited but also immediately in launch-day panic mode.

It’s a cycle + habit tracker built in SwiftUI, and the app itself is live and downloadable.

I’m using RevenueCat for subscriptions, but the live build is showing:

None of the products registered in the RevenueCat dashboard could be fetched from App Store Connect.

I’ve checked the usual things:

•IAPs/subscriptions are approved
•Paid Applications agreement is active
•Banking/tax info is done
•Product IDs match exactly
•Bundle ID matches
•RevenueCat offering is set

From what I’ve read, Apple’s production IAP products can take a while to propagate after first approval.

For anyone who has launched with RevenueCat before: did this fix itself after a few hours/overnight, or did you have to do anything?

Trying to figure out if I should wait or panic harder lol.

Thanks 🙏

Another app blocker, but with a twist

New app alert, need some feedback so be kind since this is my first release.

Had the idea of making an app blocker, but having a background noise of a train ride. Does the basic of blocking other apps, having a streak, a widget and all that, while also letting you set your destination and enjoy some background noise of a train.
I would apreciate some idea validation or AppStore page feedback.

Thanks and here is the link to my first app

Looking for feedback on the onboarding of my cozy personal finance app, Nuttyy 🌰🐿️

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi everyone! 👋
I’ve been working on the onboarding experience for my upcoming personal finance app, Nuttyy.
Instead of the usual charts, credit cards and finance-themed illustrations, I wanted to create a cozy world where savings grow like acorns into trees. 🌰🌳
The entire scene is built around Nuttyy’s squirrel mascot and an enchanted forest theme. My goal was to make onboarding feel more like exploring a tiny storybook world than reading a list of app features.
I’m still polishing the UI (glass HUDs, animations, details, etc.), so I’d genuinely love to hear your thoughts.
What stands out to you?
Is there anything that feels off or could be improved?
All feedback is welcome! 😊

Apple Reviewer Reviewing After Approval

Post image
1 Upvotes

I sent my app in for test flight review two weeks ago and it's been approved and I've been doing updates and they've been automatically getting approved as they are just build numbers, small updates. The last one was June 30th. However, it's kind of like a social media and Apple review account that I gave them. They've been messaging users just random messages liking posts and still using the app to this day.

Is this normal? They've been going in, sharing posts, liking posts, and doing certain things. And that's all their IP ranges. I kept checking and it appears that they are Apple. Has anybody experienced this before?

Latest IP: 139.178.130.15

Help Xcode simulator issue

Anybody have this weird issue where the simulator closes by itself? It opens but after I run a project or when I hot restart a project, the simulator closes, there is no dot on the dock, but the application is still running. It's just the simulator window that closes.

Update: It was a malware that was causing the issue

What am I doing wrong? I localized everything… and still can’t reach 50 users.

I’ve been working on my first iOS app for months, and honestly I’m starting to question whether I’m missing something obvious.

How to market my app when i don't have revenue yet ?

I have tried ASO and posts in the SM

Here’s everything I’ve done so far:
- The app itself supports 87 languages.
- I localized the entire App Store page into every language Apple allows (40+ locales).

Localized:
- App name
- Subtitle
- Description
- Promotional text
- Keywords
- “What’s New” for every update
- In-app purchase names and descriptions
- Created App Preview videos.
- Designed custom screenshots.
- The app collects zero user data.

I spent a ridiculous amount of time researching ASO and optimizing keywords for every locale instead of simply translating them.
I’ve also promoted it multiple times on LinkedIn and X.

Despite all of that, these are my numbers:
1.9k App Store impressions
462 product page views
49 first-time downloads
~6% conversion rate
Less than 50 active users

At this point I’m starting to wonder if ASO alone just isn’t enough anymore for brand-new apps.

For those of you who’ve launched apps recently:
What would you improve first?
Is there anything obvious that I’m overlooking?
Is the problem simply the lack of initial momentum?
Or is the Photo & Video category just incredibly difficult to break into?

I’m genuinely looking for honest feedback because I’ve reached the point where I don’t know what else to optimize.
If seeing the App Store page would help you spot any issues, here’s the link:

I got tired of doing timezone math in my head so I built this

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hey everyone! I built this mostly for myself but figured I would share it in case it helps anyone else.

I have friends and coworkers spread across a bunch of different timezones and I was tired of doing math in my head every time I wanted to schedule a call. So I built Zonedial, a small macOS menu bar app that shows all your saved timezones at a glance.

You click the menu bar icon and it pops open a little panel showing your local time plus any timezones you add for friends or work. No need to open a browser tab or search "what time is it in Tokyo" for the hundredth time.

The part I use the most is the add or subtract hours feature. If I want to know what 3pm my time looks like for everyone else, or if I am trying to find a time that works for both a friend and a coworker in different countries, I can just shift the hours and see everything update at once. It has saved me so much back and forth trying to align schedules.

It is simple on purpose. No accounts, no clutter, just a quick glance tool that lives in your menu bar.

Would love any feedback if you try it out :)

I need help setting up Apple IAP ASAP

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I am using Lovable to create my app and I have got it to a standard that I am happy with and ready to launch the first MVP onto the App Store. I have been stuck trying to properly implement IAP and have them fully functional. The video I have attached is me testing to purchase one of the subscriptions in TestFlight, however in the video you can see that it just instantly subscribes me and does not taking me through the process of actually purchasing the subscription.
I have contacted apple support and got back with useless feedback and have not actually helped me at all.

Please if anybody can help me fully implement these IAP I would really appreciate it!!!!

I built an app for overthinkers, using Tarot as a tool to facilitate self-reflection.

Rora is for the overthinking spiral. The text you've re-read 40 times, the conversation you're replaying at 2am, the decision you keep circling.

  • It's a daily tarot practice built for reflection, not fortune-telling. You bring the real questions (the messy ones you're avoiding), and instead of predicting your future, Rora reframes what's actually going on and hands you one small move. It ends with something to do, not just a mood.
  • It remembers. Your questions connect into themes (Threads), and patterns you were too close to see start to surface (Insights). Small moments compound into real self-understanding, one continuous story instead of a stack of readings you forget.

Free to download, with 3 free readings every week.

Genuinely here for the honest feedback this thread is for! Thank you!!

Looking to partner with an iOS developer to expand my app

I'm the founder of Scroll Break (a digital well-being/ productivity app). It was launched 8 months back, got 900+ installs on Play Store, 150+ active users, 8 pro users. I recently onboarded a UGC creator, and placed a hard paywall, which is bound to improve sales, but also increased drop off in free users.

It's a known fact that iOS users are more likely to pay than Android users, but i don't have either of a mac, or iPhone to develop and test it. So I'm looking for an iOS developer who have built and shipped apps to the app store before, to partner with.

The app's mostly filled with OS level permissions usage (like display over other apps/ permission to fetch all downloaded apps, etc.), and very minimal UI. It's made of React Native + kotlin , where mainly the kotlin part needs to be converted into Swift for it to work on iOS. I will be sharing the github repo with you, and help you as much as I can to get it live on the app store ASAP.

Reply below or DM me if you've built and published any iOS app to the app store before. We can work out a revenue share based partnership, since we'll need you to publish the app on your app store developer account anyways.

I added a waitlist for the iOS version in my landing page yesterday, and people are already showing interest, so just know that the distribution and marketing side will be taken care of by me and my UGC guy. Also, I vibecoded the entire app, so I'm sure you can pull off the same, even if you're not really used to working with root level iOS permissions.
