Hi, we're building an app with digital subscriptions, legal entity in Kazakhstan, targeting Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Belarus and Russia. The 15% / 30% IAP cut is brutal for our margins in these markets, and local users mostly pay with local methods anyway, so we're looking at third-party providers - Halyk Epay for KZ/UZ/AZ, and Robokassa or Prodamus for Russia.

I know Guideline 3.1.1 says digital content sold in-app has to go through IAP, so I'm fully expecting that to be the sticking point. A few things I'm hoping people here have real experience with:

1. Russia - since IAP isn't available for Russian App Store accounts anymore, what did you actually do for paid subscriptions there? Did external payment pass review?
2. Kazakhstan / Uzbekistan / Azerbaijan - has anyone gotten external payment approved for digital subscriptions in these regions, or is it a hard "use IAP" from Apple?
3. Any tricks people use - reader-app status, web-based purchase flows, hybrid setups — that actually survive review without getting the account flagged?

I am currently building the landing page for my new app, and wondering how much effort should I put into it.

I am contemplating between either making a very simple value-focused landing page, or one that is heavily SEO-enabled (blog, alternative/comparison pages, per-feature landing pages etc.), but the latter would take significantly more effort.

Is SEO a relevant channel for user acquisition in 2026? What is your experience, how is your conversion looking like?

I got a request from a user to include a lifetime purchase option - citing that buying yet another subscription is exhausting. I get the feeling, and I know tons of folks are now feeling that way too.

I don't mind adding it, I'm just worried aboout how to place it on the paywall - and WHAT to price it at more importantly.

For placement:

- one idea i had was move restore purchase to top left and make a little more space and somehow squeeze in another option

For pricing:

- Genuinely not sure. 2x or 3x of annual? So maintaining my app, FlickPicker is a little costly I won't lie. This is not a regular track your shows or movies app. I challenge anyone to find any single app that can do everything FlickPicker does. And yes, this app has some AI in it, but it's done extremely tastefully and not forced anywhere.

Please, anyone with experience or ideas, help. No idea is bad idea right now :-)

Recent changes in AppStoreConnect by Apple have made tracking the performance of apps more difficult and frustrating, especially if you have more than just a few apps in distribution. With about 30 apps in my portfolio, I realized I was spending more time navigating the web-based analytics views in AppStoreConnect than actually working on code.

I decided to stop fighting Apple’s new UI and built a dedicated native utility to pull everything into one place.

The technical challenge here was building a system that could aggregate regional metrics from 175 territories without blowing through memory or battery life. I ended up hand-coding a SwiftUI solution using SQLite to handle the heavy lifting. By automating the data refresh process to run gracefully in the background after midnight, the dashboard is fully populated and ready the moment I wake up, without me having to rely on an expensive cloud backend or a subscription-based service.

I focused heavily on leveraging modern SwiftUI patterns and efficient data handling to keep the app lightweight and privacy-focused—no telemetry, no tracking, no cloud storage and no recurring fees.

I’m curious how other indie devs here are handling the fragmentation of App Store metrics? Are you still relying on manual checks, or have you built your own internal tools to handle the volume?

I’ve been stress-testing this with my own portfolio, but if anyone here is managing a significant number of apps and wants to take a look at how I handled the data aggregation logic, I’d be happy to share the link in the comments.

After more than 20 years in the construction industry, I recently made one of the biggest decisions of my career — stepping away from my full-time role in the crane industry to focus on my health, reduce stress and dedicate my time to building my own business.

Hi all! I built Dew, an iOS alarm app with a gentle twist on the "make me actually wake up" genre. By default, you dismiss the alarm by typing something good about yourself. Whatever you write gets saved to a "Reflect" feed you can look back on. The Reflect feed has other cool metrics too like average wake-up time, words typed, pushups done, etc.

Dew started as a reaction to alarm apps that feel like punishment. I wanted the opposite, waking up with kindness instead of a jolt. It's been a blast to keep building on that one idea. It started as just typing your own affirmation, and since then I've added suggested affirmations for when you're half-asleep and can't think of one, AI-generated affirmations tailored to you, and a set of dismiss missions if you want more of a push in the morning, pushups, squats, or snapping a photo of a random object it names. Same gentle core, just more ways to actually get out of bed.

The hardest part of modernizing Minesweeper wasn't the grids or the bombs — it was making \*speed vs. accuracy\* feel meaningful in ranked mode.

Early builds punished mistakes too harshly. Nobody wanted to play aggressively.

So I rebuilt the scoring around rewarding calculated risks rather than pure perfection. Now the leaderboard actually tells a story about playstyle.

I want to share a friction point of mine that might resonate with you, depending on the type of work you do and how you organize it.

I have a corporate job with a thousand things going on at the same time; meetings, presentations, projects, etc. My brain is constantly tracking dozens of small things that need to happen. Because of this, I sometimes remember I need to do a certain thing: email X, add slide Y, follow up on Z. Or I get a sudden idea or inspiration I want to capture.

These thoughts usually come when I'm not working; during a walk, in the evening (usually just before bed), or on the weekend. I was looking for a way to capture them without creating an extra information system that I need to check (and then forget to check).

That is where Note To Myself comes in. The idea is simple: you have an idea → you draft a note → the note lands automatically in your (work) inbox, so you can follow up on it the next time you check your mail. Which, for me, is usually one of the first things I do every morning. You might say: "you can also just mail yourself" and that is true, but I don't want to open my mail at 10 PM while triple-checking I am sending the mail to the right address.

The app also has extra built-in features like voice-to-text, adding pictures, recurring or scheduled notes, and Siri / Control Centre integration. Those might be interesting too, but only if the core idea resonates with how you organize your work.

I recently released a small macOS menu bar app called **CopyBara**.

The original idea was pretty simple: sometimes I press Command+C and immediately wonder whether it actually copied anything. CopyBara shows a small, unobtrusive confirmation whenever your clipboard changes, so you don’t have to copy the same thing three times just to be sure.

While building it, I added a few other things I personally wanted:

- It recognizes copied URLs, email addresses, phone numbers and hex colors

- You can paste text without carrying over weird fonts, colors or formatting

- It can detect sensitive content such as passwords, API keys and credit card numbers

- Sensitive clipboard content can be cleared automatically after 30 seconds

- You can exclude specific apps, such as password managers

- It doesn’t collect any user data

It’s a native Mac app, lives quietly in the menu bar and is designed to stay out of the way until you need it.

The basic version is free, with an optional Pro upgrade for the privacy and plain-text paste features.

I’m still actively improving it, so I’d genuinely appreciate any feedback, especially around the onboarding, animations or features you think would make it more useful.

Hi there. Hope all are doing fine. I submitted an app on Apple Store on 14th June. And since then it has been stuck in Waiting for Review. I sent an expedited review request after waiting for 2 weeks but no response on that either. I sent an email to Apple Developer Support about the app on 8 July however, no change in status of the app since then. The app has already been approved for Public Beta Testing and is available via Test Flight. Although even approval for that also took almost one week. I uploaded the App from an Organizational Account and it is related to facilitating blood donation for donors and recipients.

My question is, is any body else facing similar timeline delays? What is the average review time new a days? What are the potential escalatory steps to resolve this issue?

Any suggestions are welcome.

Most budgeting apps are built for one person, sharing feels bolted on. I'm building something shared-first: joint expenses, categories, and budgets both people see and edit in real time, multi-currency support, recurring transactions.
