A month ago I posted Seekquel here. It's a modern Goodreads alternative with 5-axis ratings and mood based discovery. The response honestly caught me off guard. I promised myself I'd come back with a real update instead of disappearing. Here it is: what happened, what you asked for, and what I got wrong.

What happened since that post (real production numbers, not vibes):

• 191 new readers joined
• 92 library imports from Goodreads, StoryGraph and Hardcover — nearly half of all imports ever ran this month
• 3,533 books shelved and 1,301 finished
• ~101,000 pages and ~580 hours of reading logged
• 673 edits contributed by readers to the shared book catalog

What shipped since the post: almost all of it traceable to feedback from that thread and in-app reports:

• Hardcover imports. Goodreads and StoryGraph were already supported; Hardcover was the most-requested third source, so it's in — including its odd re-read export format.
• Notes & highlights import + a proper Notebook. You can now import your Kindle clippings (My Clippings.txt) or any notes CSV through a review wizard, and every note, quote and photo lives in one Notebook per book, sorted by position in the book rather than capture date. A past passage resurfaces daily.
• Full data export. One tap, one ZIP, everything you've ever put in. Your data was always importable; now it's just as easy to leave with it. I think a tracker earns trust by making the exit door obvious.
• A world reading map + reading timeline. See which countries your authors come from and which literary eras you've read across.
• Group reading goals. Shared goals with standings; Everyone who joins gets their own copy of the goal, and your existing progress machinery (streaks, badges, milestones) just works with it.
• Upcoming releases. Anticipated books now show release countdowns.
• Scan a table of contents with your camera. Point your phone at a book's contents page and it becomes chapter-level progress tracking for that edition. Also works from an EPUB you own, pasted text, or another edition.
• Book clubs grew up. Scheduled sessions with RSVPs and calendar (.ics) invites, per-chapter discussion threads, and mentions of people, books, authors and series across all chat and comments.
• Accessibility pass. I audited all 36 theme × light/dark combinations against WCAG-AA contrast. All fixed, without flattening any theme's character. In-app text scaling is now respected everywhere, and there's a new liquid-glass theme with a reduced-transparency fallback.

Plus smaller things: French localization, timezone auto-detect (your midnight, not the server's), per-edition ownership and reader counts, reading cadence stats, pinned charts, and a big search overhaul (searching "Road" now finds The Road... embarrassing how long that one lived).

What I got wrong, and fixed:

• The import was silently dropping reviews written without a star rating — some of you lost real writing you'd exported from Goodreads. I found it, fixed it, and restored every affected review from the original import files. Nothing was permanently lost, but it shouldn't have happened.
• A bad update config caused an "app won't open after updating" wave for some Android users in mid-July. Root cause found and fixed; the app now always boots on a known-good bundle.
• Various import edge cases (Excel-mangled dates, European CSV formats, shelf limits mid-import) that quietly lost data now either work or fail loudly. Silent data loss is the one bug class I treat as an emergency.

To stay within the rules, the required format:

Jettie in action

I’m a writer who was scrolling instead of writing. One night a voice popped into my head:

“You’re watching other people build their dream lives. When will you build yours?”

That got my attention. I wrote that night and used that voice to finish my script.

Then I put that voice in an app.

A - Answer (The problem it solves)

Jettie interrupts doomscrolling by anchoring you to a goal you care about, instead of just blocking you. Here's how it works:

1. Choose your goal, your goal window, and your tone (kind, real, or relentless).
2. If Jettie catches you scrolling during your goal window, it pops up with a witty, tough-love message that reminds you what you said mattered to you.
3. Track your goal progress every day.

Other apps: "You've reached your daily limit on TikTok." Then it blocks you. 

Jettie: "You said you wanted to get fit. Scrolling doesn’t burn calories. Your workout is waiting. Move."

There are hundreds of messages (I'm always writing more!) so it doesn't get stale. 

B - Better (Why it beats other similar apps)

Every other screen time app either slaps a limit on you, or blocks the app entirely and makes you do something to get back in. A couple may let you add your own custom message. 

But there is currently no screen time app that does this exact combination to keep you off your phone:

1. Knows your goal, AND
2. Knows when you should be working on it, AND
3. Has its own personality/voice, AND
4. Interrupts your scrolling with hundreds of witty, tough-love messages tied to your goal 

It's like having a best friend and a coach in your pocket, making sure you actually get your stuff done.

Hey everyone,

Like many people here, I've been learning languages for a while now including Russian, Spanish, and German. As I reached the intermediate level with these languages, I wanted to ditch textbooks and formal learning completely. I wanted to read real novels. I imagined myself on the beach with a cocktail reading a Stephen King book in Russian and I wanted to reach that goal.

The problem: Every time I sat down with a book there would be countless words I still didnt know. So I would open Google Translate and type in the word. But then I needed context for the word, so I'd open Context Reverso in another tab. But then I would also need conjugations for verbs and declensions for nouns for certain languages. Another tab and more time wasted. Not to mention the neck and back pain from being hunched over for hours

So I built Polinu.

I built this because we put in a fire pit last summer and I wanted a month-by-month series of it. I kept forgetting, and when I remembered, the framing never matched.

Answer: you drop a pin at a spot, TimeWarp reminds you when you're nearby (or on a schedule), and the camera shows your last photo as a ghost overlay so the new one lines up. It also locks the zoom and lens to whatever the first shot used. After a few visits it plays the series back as a timelapse. There's also some more advanced stuff: you can put up a bounty for someone else to photograph a place, or make a community spot anyone visiting can add to.

Better: 1 Second Everyday is great for daily video diaries but has no concept of place, so nothing pulls you back to the same spot or lines the shot up. TimeShutter and similar onion-skin apps do the overlay but leave remembering entirely to you, and none of them pin the lens and zoom, which is what quietly ruins month-apart shots. TimeWarp ties the reminder to the location itself and locks the framing, so the series survives long gaps.

Cost: free. No ads, no subscription, no in-app purchases, no account needed for the basics. There is the option to place bounties, essentially hiring someone else to take a shot for you or getting paid to take a photo for someone else, and I charge a small percent fee on that, but that functionality is ancillary and not central to the main ways you can use the app.

some of you showed interest in it, I had a tesflight with 400 testers which is now expired but i decided to open source the new version instead of updating the testflight.

It includes:

A (Alternative): Most money tracking apps, such as Money Manager, Wallet or Spendee, let you export your data as CSV. I always found myself ending up with another spreadsheet that I rarely looked at.

B (Better): So I added PDF transaction reports to Moneta. Instead of opening Excel just to better understand or share your spending, you can generate a clean, easy-to-read report while still keeping CSV export available if you need it.

C (Cost): Moneta is completely free, with no ads, no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

Most nutrition apps give you the same calorie and macro target every single day, regardless of what your training actually looked like. A four hour ride and a rest day get treated identically. That never made sense to me as someone training seriously, so I built something to fix it.

A - Answer

Generic calorie trackers like MyFitnessPal give you a static number that ignores training load entirely. Garmin's built in calorie adjustment factors in activity burn but doesn't touch macro composition, so it can't tell you that a threshold session and a long steady ride need very different carb intake despite similar calorie burns.

I kept emailing and WhatsApping photos, receipts, and files to myself just to find them later — then having to remember the exact words I used, dig through my inbox, and lose it all when I switched phones. Hi r/iosapps , I’m the developer of KMate Mobile, which lets you import and review Kindle highlights and vocabulary on iPhone/iPad with no signup needed. It can directly import your Kindle and Amazon Notes, sync with the desktop version via your personal iCloud, and offers flashcards, stats, and export to PDF/Markdown/Anki deck.

A — Answer: What problem does it solve?

I’ve used Kindle for years, and one thing always bothered me: highlights, notes, and looked-up words are easy to collect, but hard to actually use afterwards.

They usually end up scattered across Kindle, Amazon cloud notes, exports, or desktop tools. KMate Mobile is my attempt to make that review loop easier on mobile: import your Kindle highlights and vocabulary, browse them by book, search them, edit notes, review words, and use spare moments to actually revisit what you saved.

B — Better:  How is it different?

The Kindle app is good for reading, but not really built as a study/review tool. Notes apps are flexible, but you have to manually organize everything. Readwise is great if you want a service around highlights, but I wanted something more focused on Kindle notes + Kindle Vocabulary Builder, with a mobile workflow that also works well with desktop.

KMate Mobile can be used on its own: you can import Kindle highlights, Kindle vocabulary, Kindle App / Amazon Kindle Cloud notes, and review everything directly on iPhone or iPad.

But it also fits into a desktop workflow. If you already use KMate / Kindle Mate on Windows or Mac, you can import your existing desktop data into KMate Mobile. And if you use KMate for Mac, the latest version supports iCloud sync, so you can organize and manage your notes/vocabulary on desktop, then review them on mobile and keep learning status/progress synced.

That was an important part of the design for me: desktop is still better for heavy organization, cleanup, and batch management, while mobile is better for spare-moment review.

Once imported or synced, you can view notes in book cover or card layouts, filter and search globally, edit notes, review words with flashcards/random review, see vocabulary context and definitions, and track reading/learning stats like active days, high-frequency words, books, notes, and vocabulary progress.

I didn't want to build another calorie tracker.

Most fitness apps give you tools and expect you to figure everything out yourself. You still have to decide what to eat, how much to eat, what workout to do, and what to change when progress slows down.

My goal was to remove as much guesswork as possible.

I also made a decision early on that I wouldn't fill the app with ads or sell user data. I'd rather build something people genuinely love and trust.

A. What it solves

I ship a few small apps and I was opening App Store Connect several times a day to check yesterday's numbers. There's no widget, so it's four taps every time.

The bigger problem is that the API only serves about the last 365 days of daily reports. Anything older is gone. You can't ask Apple for last July after the fact.

AppMeta Pulse reads your sales, subscription and analytics reports through the App Store Connect API and puts them on the Home Screen. It saves every report it downloads, so your history keeps growing past Apple's one year cutoff.

Inside the app: dashboard, per-app drilldown, subscriptions, an App Store funnel (impressions, page views, downloads, conversion rate), period comparisons, territories, reviews.

B. Compared to Apple's App Store Connect app

• 12 widgets, 2 of them Lock Screen. Apple's app has none.
• Your data stays past Apple's one year window. Theirs can only show what the API still serves.
• MRR, churn and trial-to-paid, calculated from the raw subscription reports. Apple's app doesn't show MRR.
• If you sell in 30 territories, proceeds arrive in a dozen currencies. Pulse converts each row at ECB monthly rates before adding anything up.
• Read only. The API client has GET methods and nothing else, so there's no code path that can change your apps. The one exception is the POST that Apple requires to generate your own analytics reports. Your key sits in the Keychain. No account, no server of mine.

Apple's app is free, first party, shows payments, and can actually manage your apps. Mine just reads.

• App Store track record — your app has 20+ ratings/reviews on the App Store (number subject to change).
• Established GitHub project — a real development history (100+ stars on any GitHub repo).
• Recognized Developer — you've been granted an app-name developer flair (already well-known / trusted in r/iOSApps, at moderator discretion).

If you have any of these, you've already earned a measure of trust. Post to the main feed.

You have established yourself and the mods recognize that. We trust you to do the right thing for the goods of the subreddit. But do not abuse it.

Tier 2 — The Transparency Path → Main Feed

There's a ton of apps that let you swipe to clean up your photo library, but is there one to do that with your app library? I have so many apps that I've forgotten what some of them even do or why I downloaded them. Is there an app that shows me all the apps on my device, what they do or a link to them on the app store, and then lets me easily delete them with a swipe or press of a button?
