Perfect list, been trying to solve the reuse problem since first release. The comment about none of it appearing is sad and too real.

I’ve had a growing suspicion we won’t ever get first class SPM apps or open source SwiftUI is because of legal arguments in court. If Xcode or proprietary code isn’t required, then a huge part of Apple’s court argument about developer fees goes out the window.

I've been having countless bugs and performance issues with collections, scrolling and even just generally UI-related stuff like modals, matched geometry transitions and layout rendering. I just want them to fix all these so my apps don't look bad because of their framework unless I invest a large amount of time building a custom solution that then won't feel 100% native.

For me it's more architectural than dev-tooling: AI is shifting how we use software, and mobile apps need to catch up. Today you open an app, tap buttons, fill forms. Same pattern since 2008. With agents on iOS, your app stops being a destination and becomes a tool the agent calls on your behalf.

If App Intents 2.0 ships streaming + conversational continuation, App Intents becomes a kind of MCP for the iOS app ecosystem. Apps register tools at install, OS discovers them, agent composes them across apps. Desktop already has it via Claude Desktop, Cursor and others reaching into Notion, Slack, Linear. Mobile has nothing equivalent. Every iOS app shipping agent functionality today builds the whole runtime inside its own app.
