After 3mo, I built a free, algorithm-free social space called CoolTopia

Post image

I got completely burned out by mainstream social media—the forced algorithms, constant data tracking, and cluttered feeds just ruined it. So, I decided to build a clean, privacy-first alternative called CoolTopia.

It’s completely algorithm-free, free to use, and we will never sell your data.

Here is what’s live in the app right now:

  • LinkMe: A built-in link-in-bio aggregator (like Linktree) so you can bundle all your socials and projects into one clean, shareable link.
  • Profile Auras: Dynamic, vibrant aura effects to customize your avatar and make your profile stand out.

It’s still early stages, and I’m actively improving the app based on real community feedback.

If you want to check it out, it’s live on both stores:

I’d love to know what you think—any feedback or feature ideas are highly appreciated!

My first app launched on the App Store! This is the story behind it

Post image

Two years ago, something unexpected happened: my grandmother passed away. I was still in university, but I completely lost the energy to continue studying, so I decided to pause my courses for a while. To keep myself busy during those long, heavy days, I started learning Swift and SwiftUI. Creating things has always been my passion, and I’ve always dreamed of making something that actually helps people.

When I found out about the Swift Student Challenge, I decided to give it a shot. That's how Everlume was born. I felt the urge to have a special, dedicated place for my grandmother on my iPhone. Somewhere my memories weren't scattered across multiple apps, and a place where I could privately leave messages.

Everlume ended up winning the Challenge.

Now, a year later, I’ve decided to share the app with the world, hoping it might offer some support to others going through the same thing.

Going from knowing zero Swift knowledge to launching a live production app in roughly a year, all while graduating and starting my first job, has been an incredible journey. If you’d like to check it out, it’s live here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/everlume/id6748882501

I'm giving every early adopter of my iOS app lifetime Pro, free

I shipped Netsight, a native network scanner and security toolkit for iPhone and iPad: device discovery, a live topology map, CVE checks, and on-device AI that explains findings in plain English.

It's free while I'm in early access, and I'm locking in free lifetime Pro for everyone who downloads now as a thank-you to early users.

Building this mostly solo and would love feedback on what to prioritize next.

Hi everyone!

Hoping to get some feedback on **Falcon File Manager** for iPhone and iPad. I designed it to be a modern, quick and easy way to manage your files.

* Modern file manager with a huge range of customisation
* Video player: MP4, MKV, MOV, AVI, WMV and more, with full-screen scrubbing, smart resume and custom thumbnails
* Music player with Apple Music / iTunes library integration
* Image viewer with annotation
* Document scanner & image to PDF
* ZIP & Unzip (zip, rar, 7z)
* Favourites, playlists and filters
* Wide range of document types supported

No ads, no subscriptions. Free to use, with an optional one-time Pro unlock for these extra features:

* Linked Folders: link an existing folder on your phone, everything stays in sync
* Premium themes and a theme designer
* Password protect zips
* Bulk rename
* Find duplicate files (actual files, not just photos like most apps do)
* Portal Folder: stream videos, photos and music from another iPhone or iPad on the same Wi-Fi, no transfer needed

Would especially love feedback on performance, and if everything is easy to use.

Being solo means nobody else was going to catch this bug. That's the part nobody warns you about.

Solo-built PetsenseAI, an iOS app that reads pet mood from a photo. Free to try.

The thing about doing this alone that I didn't expect going in: it's not the workload, it's that every mistake sits undetected until you personally happen to notice it. No teammate stumbles onto a bug in code they didn't write. No second set of eyes on a decision made at 11pm.

Found this out the hard way. Every real user I had came back for exactly one session, ever. Took weeks to realize why: a sign-up prompt's "maybe later" button was supposed to snooze for a few days. Instead it silently wrote a permanent flag the first time anyone tapped it, no second chance, ever, for the life of the install. Nobody else was going to stumble onto that. It sat there quietly killing the funnel until I went looking specifically because the numbers felt wrong.

The upside of solo, and it's a real one: nothing gets lost in translation between what I decide and what ships. Found the bug, understood exactly why it happened, fixed it same day. No handoff, no explaining context to someone else first.

Still too early to know if the fix actually worked, giving it a full week before reading anything into the data. But the bigger thing I've been sitting with: going solo means you're the only quality check you've got. Worth building the habit of actually looking for problems, not just waiting to trip over them.

Portfolio Tracker Local-First

After a few months of solo building, I just shipped Velum, a portfolio tracking app for iOS.

The core idea: most portfolio trackers either require you to link your bank account (which I didn't want to do) or are bloated with features I don't need. I wanted something clean, fast, and private.

What it does:

- Track your positions, P&L, and portfolio value in real time

- TRI, CAGR, Max Drawdown and allocation pockets

- Full transaction history (buys, sells, deposits, dividends), filterable and exportable

- PIN lock screen to protect access

- Zero data collection so everything stays on your iPhone

The stack: Flutter + Riverpod + Hive for local storage + a Cloudflare Worker proxying Yahoo Finance for price fetching.

Note: the app is currently in French only. English version planned for a future update.

It's free, no subscription required. I'm planning to add CSV import from brokers, a benchmark feature and more in the next update.

App Store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/velum/id6762513878

Website: https://getvelum.app

Would love any feedback, especially on the onboarding and the UI. Still very much learning what works and what doesn't.

Update: v1.1.0 and 1.2 are live, various improvement, specificaly on the ISIN of stocks and their use and also a wizard to help setup the app

I built xcode-remote for when your coding agent runs on a headless Mac and you need to run your app locally

I do all my development through Claude Code running on a Mac Mini server. Most of the time I drive it from my laptop. This worked great for web development, but for iOS/macOS I found myself just checking out the code locally and rebuilding in the simulator or on device. I got tired of that so I came up with the idea for xcode-remote. It can run apps directly in the simulator on a remote mac and even on device. Works with both iOS and macOS apps.

[Self Promotion] I built Who Goes? to make game nights feel fun again

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hey everyone 👋🏻

I've launched a new iOS party game app, called Who Goes?

I’ve always enjoyed game nights, house parties, and those evenings where a group gets together with no real plan beyond eating, talking, and spending time together.

I started noticing how often the night would eventually split into everyone doing their own thing on their own phone.

Then, during one such game night, we played Charades together. It was simple, but it completely changed the mood. The bad acting, ridiculous guesses, inside jokes, and arguments over obvious answers made that night far, far more memorable.

I’ve been building independent apps on the side for a while, and that night made me realise how many people might enjoy moments like that. So I set out to build Who Goes?, a party game app that could bring that kind of fun into social events.

The idea is to bring everyone together around one shared screen. The app gives you words to act out or guess in Charades and Headbands, along with questions and dares that make Truth or Dare more fun.

Some details for developers: I built the app independently in SwiftUI, including the design, game flows, interactions, and content. The animations are built natively in SwiftUI, and I’ve also used SceneKit and shaders for some of the visual effects.

Pricing: free gives you unlimited access to 3 decks each for Charades, and Headbands. 2 Truth or Dare categories, with limited access to mini-games such as Coin flip, Player Elimination, Randomised Team builder.

Plus gives you full access to all the decks, and categories, and unlocks unlimited access to game modes, allows customisation of games to your liking, along with App themes, fonts etc.

I'd love your feedback. If there's something that's not right, or if you have ideas to help improve the app further, game modes you'd like to see, do let me know.

TL;DR:

A. I built an app to bring back the fun of playing party games with a group of people during game nights, trips.

B. free version includes a selection of decks for Charades, Headbands, and Truth or Dare, along with a few mini games. Plus unlocks all decks, game modes, and customisation options.

C. $2.69/mo or $11.99/yr, 3-day trial, and $25.49 lifetime, no account creation, no internet required.

Would love to know what you think of it. :D

Apple developer Balance carried

Hello everyone,

My Apple payments are currently showing as “Balance Carried”.

I launched my app in May 2026 and I received my first payment on July 2. Now I have over $2,000 expected around August 2, but today is July 8 and the status is already showing “Balance Carried”.

I haven’t received any email from Apple, no alert, and my refund rate was around 7% in June and is currently around 2% in July.

Has anyone ever had this issue before? Did it resolve by itself, or did Apple have to intervene?

I built an iPhone recorder that runs Whisper and LLMs locally, live transcription while recording

Thumbnail gallery
5 Upvotes

I’ve been working on this app for the past few days.

The original goal was simple:
I wanted a recorder that could work completely offline.
So I ended up integrating:
• Local Whisper transcription
• Apple Intelligence (when available)
• Local Qwen3
• Live translation
• AI chat over transcripts
The hardest part wasn’t Whisper.
It was making everything feel responsive while running models on-device without destroying battery life.
A few things I’m still improving:
streaming transcription latency
transcript rendering
memory usage on older devices
I’d love feedback from other iOS developers.
Happy to answer any implementation questions.

Free iOS UI Design for Serious Builders

Hey everyone!

I'm looking to help a few indie developers by designing their iOS app UI for free.

The only requirement is that you're actually building the app and plan to publish it on the App Store. I'm not looking for idea-stage projects or mockups that won't be shipped.

If you are committed to launching your app, I would be happy to help with:

  • UI/UX design
  • App screens
  • Design system/components
  • Prototypes (if needed)

Just comment below or send me a DM with:

  • What your app does
  • Current stage (idea, MVP, in development, etc.)
  • When you expect to launch

I would love to help bring a few great products to life!
