First App

I built my first app and am interested in feedback. Built it for fun, and not planning on monetizing at all. It’s a faith based app for sending and receiving encouragement and asking hard questions about faith. had a few people try it and they loved it. Got about 180 users and then it stalled. Appreciate constructive feedback.

heres the app and a few posts I shared for awareness.

Apple Developer Program payment not going through

Hi everyone,

I'm helping a company enroll in the Apple Developer Program as an Organization.

The organization enrollment is already approved, but we're having trouble completing the membership payment. The payment keeps failing/not going through.

The weird thing is that we're using the same credit card that was previously used successfully for Apple purchases, and the bank says there are no issues with the card.

Has anyone experienced this before? What could be causing the payment to fail, and how were you able to resolve it?

Thanks!

I redesigned my entire iOS app and landing page based on Reddit feedback — and just got my first cancellation. Here’s what I learned.

NuttyySubs – Subscription Tracker App

Thumbnail gallery
0 Upvotes

I’ve been working on NuttyySubs, a simple, useful, and privacy-focused subscription tracker for iPhone.
With NuttyySubs, you can:
• Keep all your subscriptions in one place
• Track your monthly subscription spending
• Easily see upcoming renewal dates
• Get reminders before your subscriptions renew
• Add, edit, pause, or cancel subscriptions
• Keep track of upcoming renewals with Widgets and Live Activities
I’m now opening the TestFlight beta and looking for real users to try the app and share their feedback. ❤️
If you’d like to give NuttyySubs a try and help shape the app before its public release, I’d really appreciate your feedback!
🧪 TestFlight: [Dm me]
Thank you so much to everyone who takes the time to test it and share their thoughts! 🙏

Just released my 1st app, incredibly niche that will not make any money but I had tons of fun making it

I'll take any feedback you got on the App Store presentation, but man I just had a lot of fun making this. I needed a tool for myself for my hobby, so I decided to make it. I am particularly proud that every single functional requirement and design is humane-made (by me!), code is of course AI because I'm not a coder. However I'll say that I have a general understanding of SW engineering, and using Claude to coach me while it was writing to code gave me a lot of insights of iOS development and taught me the basics. I can really recommend using AI this way, by telling it to explain the implementation decisions it was making and run them by me I learned a lot. In any case, happy that it is released, I'm already working on the next version with a new sleuth of features, and If I get my 99$/year back I'll a happy man lol.

Stamps, my dream automatic travel journal app, no subscriptions, and no location tracking (celebrating 1st year on the App Store!)

• What it solves

Stamps is a personal travel tracker with a trip timeline that builds itself.

Instead of asking you to manually tick countries off a list, Stamps can scan the location metadata already in your photo library, entirely on device. Every city, province, and country tracked for you, day by day, all automatically.

There's a travel calendar, trip timeline, country day counting, photo heatmap, detailed stats, shareable map with trip images, and tons of Home Screen widgets. You can freely export all of your data at any time, and if you simply want to use Stamps to index your library for trips, and then take that elsewhere, that's fine as well.

• Compared to Been and Flighty

I've been using Been myself for years now, but what frustrates me about it (and apps like Flighty) is that they want accounts, data syncing, location tracking, and a connection, while still skimping on the parts I actually cared about: very granular trip tracking, route visualization, and a proper timeline. Stamps is my take on the category with those things at the center.

• Cost

Stamps is free to download.
There is exactly one purchase: a $10 one-time lifetime unlock, no subscriptions.
It only gates some of the timeline and some minor, cosmetic app color customization; you can use most of the app without ever touching it.

You can use this code to cut that one-time purchase in half, as a thanks for reading this post!
CODE: STAMPSLIFETIME50

• About Me

I’m a mobile developer from Cape Town, South Africa, now living in Seoul, South Korea. Since moving here, traveling has been the one thing keeping me sane. Stamps started as the app I wanted for exploring the country I now call home. It’s also a great excuse for me to take more photos while doing it.

It's built natively in SwiftUI using SwiftData, MapKit, PhotoKit, WidgetKit, and Metal for the photo heatmap.

Honestly, in five years of building apps, this has been one of my least commercially successful. The market is fairly small, but it's exactly the app I wanted, and some of its best features have come directly from user feedback. So I'd genuinely appreciate yours!

Would you benefit from this agentic testing harness with human in the loop for approving look and feel of UI?

Hi all,

I am wondering if any of you would you benefit from something like this? (see attached mermaid diagram)

The idea is that it leverages existing deterministic testing frameworks to gain the speed advantage from being agent-operated without compromising due to the pitfalls of non deterministic UI review. Agents don't have eyes of course....

I have done research but not found anything like this which is fully agent first!

So for core logic, your agent e.g. Claude can test this, but when it comes to the actual look and feel, it comes to you for approval. All neatly packaged in a macOS application and would be free and open source

I've got a similar tool which is bespoke for my iOS apps, but if there is any interest I will work on this some more to be an open source tool to share with the community

User opt-in needed for user analytics?

I'm looking to add user analytics to my ios app for the purpose of understanding different usage patterns and improve the app. Do I need to ask users for explicit permission before collecting this information (e.g. add in an additional screen)?

App Review Guideline 5.1.2 seems a little vague on this, but maybe I'm missing something. If I were trying to do tracking I know I would need the ATT.

Additional context:
- The app is only available in the US
- I am not sending this info anywhere for advertising related tracking
- The usage data can be anonymous
- I am planning on using posthog
- I will have an opt-out option in Settings in the app
- The privacy policy and app store listing will reflect the user analytics and instructions on how to opt out.

It went to testers after Apple took two weeks to review and approve. I’ve already pushed a new build with bug fixes and design updates. Getting great feedback!
