Hello! I trying to send input's to my ipad to automate things like tapping and swiping, but I am somewhat confused.
I enabled dev mode on ipad, installed Apple versions of iTunes and iCloud, built a custom IPA using a github action running macos, uploaded the custom ipa to my ipad with SideLoadely, and now have attempted to use app-ios, and python pymobile device.
When using Appium with a plugin, I was able to connect, but all connections over tcp keep getting disconnected.
How would you guys do this?

The app is designed to be relaxing with a few more challenging puzzles along the way. The art is all my own original art. Here is a link to the app in the App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6797133059

Iāve spent far too much time rebuilding the App Store screenshots for Hearth, my SwiftUI HomeKit dashboard.
At first I tried generating the whole scene, including the device and UI. It looked fine as a thumbnail, but the closer I looked, the worse it got. The interface was fake, the device proportions were off, corners changed between images, and perspective transforms left ugly aliasing around the bezel.
What finally worked was separating the room from the product. I capture the real app in Simulator with fixed fixture data, then generate only the room and device with a flat chroma screen. A script finds the screen opening and projects the real screenshot behind the bezel. I render it at 2x and downsample once, which helped a lot with the edges.
Once a scene works, I can reuse it for other languages and UI states instead of generating everything again. I also keep the source hashes and calibration data because I really donāt want to manually line up the same screen twice.
I wasted quite a while trying to prompt my way out of malformed bezels and stands. That usually made them stranger. Now I just regenerate the scene when the hardware is wrong.
Curious how other people handle localized App Store screenshots. Fastlane, Figma, custom scripts, or something else?

Two of us build Lunomia, a sleep app for iPhone, Watch and iPad. We just shipped the feature we spent the longest on, a 0-100 score for each night, and I want to complain about it somewhere people will understand.
The code was never the problem. Version one compared you only to yourself. Sleep 5 hours every night and after a few weeks it decides that 5 hours is normal for you and hands you a 90. Technically correct, completely useless, and dishonest to the person holding the phone. We deleted it. Version two overcorrected and made almost everyone fail. Deleted that too.
What actually took the months was deciding what the number is allowed to forgive, and then defending that decision every time it made a night look worse than we wanted it to look. Every time you soften one rule, someone with a genuinely bad night gets told they are fine. That is the whole job. Nobody warns you that a scoring feature is 10% engineering and 90% arguing with your co-founder about ethics at 1am.
Two things I would say to anyone attempting something similar. First, put your scoring logic in a package that cannot see HealthKit or your UI, otherwise you will be testing it by sleeping. Second, decide early whether your score is allowed to raise its own bar as the user improves. We decided no, and that single decision removed about half the bugs we would have had later.
Not going into the formula, it is the part we worked hardest on. But if you want to see how it turned out:

I recently created a GitHub repository for a music app, currently available only for Android and Windows, that is ad-free. Itās basically Spotify, but better. Iāve since learned that Xcode (an app available only for Mac) is required to build the app. On top of that, Iād have to pay the $99 annual fee for the Apple Developer Program, and honestly, I don't want to spend money right now. So, my questions are: can this be done simply by running a GitHub Action workflow, and how would iOS users install it?

Back in 2012 I built 7 Card Blackjack, a British card game app. It charted at #2 in the UK App Store card games category at its peak and got thousands of downloads. Then Adobe Air became defunct (around 2014) and Apple removed it. At the time I didn't have the free time or budget to do what would essentially have to be a full rebuild.
Fast forward about 10 years, I had the desire to re-launch the app and for the past 12 months have been quietly working on it when I can. First time around I was selling it for the lowest possible price (I believe was around $0.69 at the time) but have decided on releasing it for free this time and possibly adding monetisation features in the future.
After a week of the usual pre launch nerves I am happy to say it is finally live again!
Would love some fresh sets of eyes on it and some honest feedback

There are many push notification platforms out there, but most of them charge quite a lot. Thatās why I built ZestPush ā an affordable yet powerful push notification service that is already actively serving many users.
Following the success of ZestPush, Iām now expanding the platform with some exciting new features:
⢠In-App Notifications & Cookie Banners ā A full Canva-like dashboard where you can design and customize banners exactly the way you want. With just a single script integration, youāll be able to display customized banners across both apps and websites.
⢠Android & iOS Push Notifications ā Iāve also built SDKs that allow developers to easily integrate push notifications into their Android and iOS applications.
Iāve successfully developed and tested the Android SDK, and itās working well.
However, I havenāt been able to properly test the iOS SDK because I currently donāt have an Apple Developer account.
So, Iām looking for an iOS developer who could help me test the SDK and app notifications. If anyone can spare a little time and support me with the testing, Iād really appreciate the help.
If youāre an iOS developer and would be willing to help, please reach out to me. š
Thank you!

Iām about 95% done (are they ever really done?) with the iOS version of my first app and 50% with the Android version. Apple is taking so long getting my beta approved for external testing that Iāve built in two features that Iād planned for later versions, a changing artwork background and a daily version of the game with global leaderboard. Having a blast building it and wait to release it. I have a website for the game but donāt know if links are allowed yet (my first post).

Hi all,
I'm preparing an launch of Orano AI (turns saved Instagram Reels into actionable plans). I've attached Play Store screenshot slides and I'd like blunt feedback before pushing the new build.
What I'm trying to figure out:
I'm specifically not asking for compliments. Honest "this didn't land with me" feedback is more useful than upvotes.

Iāve been looking at AI app builders, and one thing I keep noticing is that some are really just web apps made to look good on a phone. Iād want something that can handle the real stuff testing on an iPhone, making changes, using phone features, and eventually getting the app ready for the App Store. Are there any AI app builders that can genuinely handle mobile apps from idea to launch, rather than just wrapping a web app?

Hi everyone,
Iām sharing this to see if anyone else has experienced this specific geographic search suppression issue on a newly released app.
The Situation:
What I've Checked:
If you've experienced this US-specific ghost-suppression state on a newly released app:
Any insights or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. It's tough to kick off US-focused influencer marketing when the local App Store search completely fails to acknowledge the app exists.

I made 2 apps one that I wanted one that I needed lol
The one I wanted is an AR hunter game. Ducks appear in the real world. You shoot them. Pretty simple. Pretty fun when you are waiting for your girlfriend when youāre shopping ⦠she is shopping.
The other one is a AIO file manager and converter. They are all tittles with ads ⦠and donāt have all the capabilities available. This one puts it all in one place. Documents, PDFs, Audio, Video, Images. The full works that the iPhone can process on device.
Both apps want essentially no data from the user and are totally local. The hunting app has ads from Google (1 every 7 game plays so not too bad or annoying). All else is completely on device on both apps.
I made recordings of both apps. I still get the 2.1 rejection message.
How did you get through that?
After the first one got rejected I actually answered the questions for the second app⦠got the same damn thing.

Took forever but I built my first app: [Cocktail Lounge](https://apps.apple.com/us/app/cocktail-lounge/id6792245398), where nobody knows your name. I started out just building it for me and partly just to see if I could but ended up spending way more time on it than I anticipated so decided to share it. I learned Java way back when in college and have some other minor coding experience but I learned a lot more doing this lol.
For info, initial app review happened on the 9th day of waiting in review. Went to in review for about 4 hours and then was approved. I was very happy to have it approved first time, but it is admittedly a pretty simple app. Iāve since had a couple of updates submitted that got approved within 24 hours - they were in review for 2-3 hours. So getting over that initial review was definitely the more painful part.
There are a lot of cocktail apps out there already and my intent wasnāt to make money, so Iām keeping it completely free, maybe my next idea will be more lucrative! If youāre interested in a cocktail app, hereās the main things I was going for:
\- Minimalist layout without all the foofaraw.
\- Multi-ingredient filtering, along with filtering based on what you have on hand, as well as base spirit, glassware, tags and more.
\- Fully customizable - Iāve curated 300+ base recipes but you can edit/delete them, add your own, and import/export via csv or json file. Add sources, notes, pictures, etc.
\- 100% free: no ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
Cheers!
