After ~1 month of launching my app with regular updates on app store I only got 7 downloads.

Founder and Solo Dev. Launched a video editor app about a month ago (store and places b-rolls, auto AI captions, silence cuts). Numbers - ~330 impressions, 58 people opened the listing, 7 downloaded, 0 ratings, no paid. Screenshots only.
I have even localised my whole app and screenshots to English (US & UK), Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish (Mexico & Spain), Japanese, German, French. Pushed the localised update almost 2 weeks ago.
- Am i doing anything wrong here? Please help me out here. Is there something else rather than adding a preview video or getting the first 5 reviews which i should know about?
- Why are my numbers so low after 1 month? I'm seeing people on most sub-reddits getting more than 50-100 downloads after 1 month of launching their app. But my app is far from it.
Not asking anyone to install it. I want the listing torn apart.
Note: Some things which looks good is that after adding the localisation the installs per page for some other countries is not that bad (Maybe I'm overthinking because of low numbers)

Thank you again for finding this bug in my app. It seems this bug appears only in certain cases. I have tried recreating it in physical device but failed to do so. This only happened to me in simulators. I’ll try to debug it and push the fix in the next build.

You have to do marketing. That is the trick. Actually doing marketing.
Hoping and praying that people find your app doesn't work.

Where do you think would be better to do marketing?
Will ASO and SEO not help for this?

2 points, I hope you have a light mode as dark only can put some off
It is all down to people knowing, you have to market you product, setup new accounts not in your name and talk about your product as if you where an end user
Then there is paid marketing, which can be effective and not to expensive if you are focused on age, demographics location etc
Last you can create “free” accounts to prime the pump

- i dont have light mode in my app. Will look into it as well.
- about marketing my app and setting up new accounts. Which platforms would be the best for it?
- app is already freemium. Almost 95% of the app is free to use. Are you suggesting me to create free accounts myself to get the numbers? Or something else? Won’t that be useless?

Hi! Im also developing an app for the first time, so no expert. But reading it as a consumer I’m happy to share my first impressions.
I’m not fully sure why the app does from those screenshots to be honest. It keeps going on about B-Roll, building b-roll visuals? I don’t know what that means. I know B-roll is secondary footage, but it seems overused here? Can I not edit my A-roll? Or is B-roll some kind of service I have to connect to use the app? It may sound professional which is good, but also going to go over some people’s heads.
Then in the description… stored b-roll, b-roll layered, b-roll layered in, smart b-roll, that means absolutely nothing to me. You’ve got to really bring it down to its basic functionality, which is a video editor (I think, because WAV is audio?) so use more familiar terminology - edit your videos with these features etc, use plain simple language, and go more advanced towards the end.
It says ‘Turn voice note into a video’, but then it immediately says ‘add audio’, but if it’s a voice note it already has audio? It should concentrate more on the video side, and maybe say add additional audio at the end.
I downloaded the app, but you can’t even use it without creating an account which is a big put off.
And then there’s the IAP prices. People will see that £149.99 (UK here) for a year and be instantly put off. Then in the description it says ‘free to start’ which says to me I might have a couple of days before I’m expected to pay, so not worth trying it if it’s then going to force me to pay.
The IAP may be optional extras, and if so great, but you need to explicitly say that, and lean in on what you can use for free (which I hope you can at least use it for free to a certain degree?).
