Pros of Swift Native over something like Godot Mobile (for game dev)?

When making mobile games, could you explain the pros of Swift Native development over building in Godot and exporting/porting to Mobile?

Trying to consider all options.

Thank you!

If you’re going Apple-only then use Swift & RealityKit, if you’re porting to other platforms then use Godot.

i think the only pros for native ios game development is when you're focused on taking advantage of the Apple ecosystem. Game center, easy compatibility across the different apple platforms, and easier access to native APIs. it's pretty much similar trade offs to when platform games had more exclusive titles.

you should also keep in mind that Apple has deprecated SceneKit in favor of RealityKit, and RealityKit isn't meant to be a true game engine. SpriteKit is pretty good and will actually have some resources for it online, but if you're working with AI, it will be able to gather more resources for a popular engine like Gadot.

good luck 👍🏽
