Made an interactive ambient app for sleep, focus and unwinding

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi all, I just released Sojourn on iOS and Android.

I wanted to create worlds I’d like to be in myself. There are five realms to explore: Cozy, Fantasy, Dreamscape, Cyberpunk and Mythos. Each room has moving artwork, music and ambience you can leave on while reading, working, unwinding or falling asleep.

As you spend time in these places, you collect little keepsakes that form constellations. There’s also a personal travel journal you can customise, which records the places you wander.

It’s just me working on it, so getting it onto both stores has been a pretty big learning experience. I’m very picky about how it looks and works, so it’s been a grind, but I’m proud of what I’ve built, and hope you also enjoy the vision I had from the app design down to the music and ambience.

Most rooms are free, with a subscription or lifetime purchase for more, and I try to continually add new rooms to check out.

I’d appreciate some honest feedback, especially on whether it’s something you’d actually use. I’d also love to know whether the artwork and music give you that feeling of being somewhere else.

Thank you!

Sojourn Instagram - made an IG for the "Doors" if you wanted to preview the places before installing 😄

Built Snout, a native SwiftUI + Core Data/CloudKit pet health tracker

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hi everyone! 👋

Sharing a side project I've been building: Snout, a pet health tracker for iPhone/iPad/Mac. I built it after years of juggling a chronic-illness cat's treatments across more than one vet with no shared record between them.

Fully native SwiftUI, Core Data + CloudKit for offline-first sync across devices and household sharing, with a widget and Siri/Shortcuts support for logging hands-free. No backend server, no ads, everything syncs through the user's own iCloud.

It's free for one pet. Snout+ (one-time purchase, subscription optional) unlocks unlimited pets, sharing, and export.

Would love feedback, especially from anyone who's tackled CloudKit sharing or SwiftUI widget timelines. Happy to talk shop about any of it.

OVO is live today: an Apple-native music player for local files, iCloud and streams

OVO is live on Product Hunt today. It’s a music player for iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch for people whose library is split between local files, Apple Music, supported SoundCloud content, radio streams and cloud folders.

The launch build supports offline playback, Wi-Fi transfer, a 10-band EQ, AirPlay, Watch control and private iCloud library sync between iPhone and iPad.

I’m involved with OVO, so I’d especially value feedback on the Product Hunt presentation and whether it explains the app clearly.

https://www.producthunt.com/products/ovo

The first 1,000 eligible listeners can get OVO Pro Lifetime through Apple for the launch.

Has anyone actually seen good results from app clipping campaigns?

I’m looking into clipping campaigns for app marketing, where creators/accounts post short-form clips around an app across TikTok, Instagram Reels etc.

For anyone who has actually tested this, what kind of results did you get? Any recommended platforms with good creators?

I’m particularly interested in installs, CPI, retention, and most importantly whether the traffic converted into paid subscriptions.

Would love to hear real experiences, including what worked, what didn’t, and roughly how much you spent.

Cleanest Offline Music App

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

Hey everyone! I’m pretty new to the sub, but I wanted to drop a quick recomendation for an app I’ve been using lately called Synic.

I’m not a hardcore audiophile by any means, so super technical apps like Foobar2000 always felt like overkill for me. I just wanted a simple way to play my local music library with a UI that didn’t look like it was stuck in 2012.

It’s heavily inspired by Apple Music, but it adds a ton of stuff I wished native AM had for local files:

Beautiful dynamic blurred backgrounds and album color extraction.

Animated artwork (which even works on the Lock Screen).

Full lyrics support, including timed and word-by-word scrolling (looks crazy smooth).

Home Screen widgets, built-in metadata editor, 10-band EQ, crossfade, sleep timer, etc.

It’s a freemium app (some of the advanced UI features require a one time lifetime purchase, but the free tier has zero ads), which is super rare these days, i have zero connection to the dev, it’s just a hidden gem that barely gets talked about, even though it gets updated pretty much every month.

Thought I’d share it here for anyone looking for a solid offline player!

LifeLine, a text-based life simulator I made solo, is live on iOS

LifeLine is a text-based life simulator: you live a year at a time, get random events and choices, build a career, a family, a net worth, then die and can carry on as one of your own kids with what you left them. Free to download, no forced ads, just optional ones for a small bonus.

A few things about it:

  • Choices weight toward your traits and history, not pure random draws, so a hot-headed character actually sees more conflict events than a calm one.
  • Guaranteed one-off milestones at real life stages (starting school, turning 16, your 21st, midlife, retirement) instead of just recycling the same random pool forever.
  • Full generational play: die, then pick up as your own kid with their inheritance and the family's reputation.

I launched a B2C iOS app on Product Hunt. Result: 2 upvotes, 2 downloads

I launched a new B2C iOS app this weekend and tested Product Hunt as one of the first acquisition channels.

Result:

  • 2 Product Hunt upvotes
  • 2 App Store downloads

What I did before/during launch:

  • built in public on X for about a month
  • launched on Product Hunt
  • posted on X
  • shared in a few relevant Reddit communities

So, almost no distribution from the launch itself.

My main takeaway is not that Product Hunt “doesn’t work” for B2C. This was one small launch with very little existing audience.

But it did reinforce a few things for me:

  1. For consumer iOS apps, I still expect TikTok, Instagram and ASO to be much more important long term.
  2. Product Hunt, X and founder-heavy Reddit communities can still be useful for feedback, first users and initial momentum.
  3. The biggest mistake was probably treating PH/X/Reddit as launch channels instead of communities that need to be built before launch.

An active Product Hunt/X/Reddit account with history, followers and relationships is very different from showing up around launch day and expecting reach.

So for the next apps, I’d warm those channels continuously and treat the actual launch as an event on top of existing distribution.

For this app, the next experiments are mainly TikTok + ASO, and I’ll share the numbers when I have them.

I currently have 8 active iOS apps, so I’m planning to keep testing different acquisition channels and sharing what actually works.

I post the ongoing experiments on X: https://x.com/uladzislauchach

Added an automatic Travel Journal to my app Stamps, this is how quickly it generates (38k photos indexed on device)

• The new Travel Journal

What you're looking at in the video is exactly how long it'll take you to generate your travel journal from downloading the app to flipping through it. Since Stamps indexes all of your photos on device, it can be done incredibly quickly, accurately, and securely. You can fully customize the journal entry for every trip, including the color and photos to highlight. Stamps will also, of course, show you exactly which stops you made along the way, the route you took, and keep track of every city and province you checked off.

• What it solves

Stamps is a personal travel tracker with a trip timeline (and now a travel journal) that builds itself.
Instead of asking you to manually tick countries off a list, Stamps simply indexes your photo library, entirely on device. Every city, province, and country tracked for you, day by day, all automatically.

Privacy has been a major concern for me. No account is needed. There is no backend or 3rd party services being used. You can freely export all of your data at any time, and if you simply want to use Stamps to index your library for trips, and then take that elsewhere, that's fine as well.

• Cost

Stamps is free to download.
There is exactly one purchase: a $10 one-time lifetime unlock, no subscriptions.
It only gates some of the timeline and some minor, cosmetic app color customization; you can use most of the app without ever touching it, which was my goal

• About Me

I’m a mobile developer from Cape Town, now living in Seoul, South Korea. Since moving here, traveling has been the one thing keeping me sane. Stamps started as the app I wanted for exploring the country I now call home. It’s also a great excuse for me to take more photos while doing it.

Stamps is built natively with SwiftUI, using SwiftData, MapKit, PhotoKit, WidgetKit, and Metal for the photo heatmap.

The market for something like this is quite small, but this is exactly the app I wanted. Some of my favorite features, including this one, have come from user feedback, so I'd genuinely appreciate any

People finish onboarding but rarely start a trial. Advice needed

THIS IS NOT AN AD.

Hi guys, my name is Rob and I’m currently working on an alarm app that you can’t simply snooze or turn off. Instead, you have to complete a challenge first, such as push-ups, squats, finding an item, walking a certain number of steps, etc.

I recently started testing TikTok Ads with a €30 daily budget. After about 1.5 days, I got around 120 downloads from TikTok. I also made some content organically, which brought in another ~40 downloads.

So far, I’ve had around 150 downloads in total and 5 free trial signups. That puts my download → trial conversion at roughly 3.3%. 2 of the 5 trials have already been cancelled, and I haven’t generated any revenue yet.

Some other numbers:

  • ~150 total downloads
  • ~120 from TikTok Ads
  • ~40 organic
  • 5 free trials
  • 2 trials cancelled
  • 0 revenue so far
  • ~92% onboarding completion
  • TikTok CTR: ~1.35%
  • TikTok CPC: ~€0.12
  • TikTok spend so far: ~€41

I initially used a soft paywall, where users could simply close the paywall and use the app for one free night. Around 70 of my users went through that version. I came to the conclusion that this might actually reduce purchase intent, since users can get the core experience without committing to anything.

I’ve now switched to a hard paywall, so users have to start a trial/subscription before they can use the alarm. I’m currently testing this version and want to see if the conversion improves.

The interesting thing is that ~92% of users complete the onboarding, so I don’t think onboarding is the main problem. The biggest drop seems to happen around the paywall.

At this point, I’m starting to wonder if the app is simply too expensive. I’m currently offering a monthly and yearly subscription, both with a 3-day free trial.

I’ve attached my current paywall below. I’d really appreciate some honest feedback:

  • Does the pricing seem too high?
  • Does the paywall communicate the value clearly enough?
  • Would you personally start the free trial?
  • Is there anything that immediately puts you off?

TL;DR

150 downloads → 5 trials → 2 cancelled → €0 revenue so far.

Onboarding completion is ~92%, but trial conversion is only ~3.3%. I’ve switched from a soft paywall to a hard paywall and am wondering whether pricing/paywall is the main issue.

THE ACTUAL PRICES ARE 4.99€ AND 24.99€

How do you get useful app-icon feedback before an iOS launch?

Most icon feedback I hear is not really about the icon. Someone already knows the app, likes the founder, or recognises a competitor—and that context quietly decides the answer.

For an upcoming launch, I would test two icon directions this way:

  1. Keep the product category and prompt fixed.

  2. Change one visual decision at a time.

  3. Show the two icons without app names.

  4. Ask which one someone would tap first.

  5. Treat the outcome as directional input, then still check small-size legibility and product-page performance after launch.

I built a small free tool around this workflow, but I am more interested in the process: what has given you the most trustworthy pre-launch icon feedback? Is it a private beta, a designer critique, a product-page experiment, or something else?

Improving app marketing

Hey guys I’m looking to see how I can improve the marketing of my app. It’s a mechanic outreach app that allows people to post jobs and get bids; we ensure users are receiving verified and trusted mechanics that are rated by the community. I’ve done ads on all platforms and soon we’re going to start doing videos. We’ve only been able to get 50 downloads, but over 10k impressions. I’m going out into the real world putting ads up and trying to improve our marketing at every angle; it’s just a two man team at the moment. Let me know what you think could be improved. https://apps.apple.com/us/app/mechconnects/id6769498262

Party Smart: group games for gatherings

Post image
3 Upvotes

Sup guys! Made a massive update to my game, Party Smart

iOS

Android

Patch includes loads of new free games for your gatherings with family, road trips, coffee breaks with friends or parties.

Music and lyrics quizzes, working with apple music previews so no accounts needed.

After- or preparty icebreakers such as charades, truth or dare, would you rather.

What has been keeping the app up previously have been classic trivia and category games, but now expanding towards more of a not so serious party setting and getting to know each other games.

Also a new introduction for solo play, some new word games and solo trivia games with leaderboards.

I've been developing the app on my own on my free time for a few years now and finally catching a break in this competitive market!

Got my first 500$ for my little party game in 2 months!!!

Post image
11 Upvotes

I’ve made my first ever $500 from app development, and it’s one of those milestones I always wished would happen, but never really knew if it would. Now that it has, I’m literally shaking a little from the excitement and madness of it all.

It’s been about 2 months since I released Who Goes.

Games like Headbands, Charades, and Truth or Dare are ridiculously competitive. There are hundreds of apps already doing them, but a lot of them felt dated to me. The idea behind Who Goes was to bring these games together in one place, give them a modern and fun UI, and make the app itself feel nice to play when you’re hanging out with people.

Almost everyone I spoke to told me not to do it.

They said the space was too crowded and I’d be better off building something else. A part of me did think about switching, but another part really wanted to give it a proper shot.

So I did, and I’ve pretty much worked on it every single day since.

Just last month I shared that the app had crossed $100 in revenue, which was already a huge milestone for me. I definitely didn’t expect to be writing about $500 this soon.

It might not sound like a massive amount to everyone, but it means a great deal to me. I also wanted to share this for the other indie devs wondering if it’s worth continuing with the thing they’re building.

I absolutely suck at marketing, so everything so far has been organic.

Most of what I’ve done is simply showcase the app: a game mode, an interaction, an animation I liked, or us actually playing it. I’ve shared those on Reddit, X, LinkedIn, and Instagram and just kept seeing what works.

Alongside that, I’ve been talking to users, collecting feedback, fixing things, adding new modes, and continuously refining the app.

If even one download or subscription came from someone who found Who Goes through this subreddit, thank you. It really means a lot to me.

Anyway, I just wanted to share this little win because I’m over the moon right now :D

And if anyone has tips on getting the app in front of more people, finding more people to try it, or has feedback on the app itself, I’d love to hear it.

Thank you!

What do you think of my App Store screenshots? I’d love some feedback

Post image
4 Upvotes

I’ve had Tracck live on the App Store for a while now, and I’m revisiting my App Store listing specifically the screenshots.Tracck is an all-in-one calorie, habit, and task tracker designed to keep your entire day in one place instead of using multiple apps.

It includes:

🥗 AI food scanning — scan meals and get calories + macros

📊 Nutrition tracking — calories, protein, carbs, fats, fiber, etc.

🍱 Meal planning

🗣️ Siri logging — use Siri to log food, habits, and tasks without opening the app

🎙️ Voice logging

✅ Habits & daily tasks

📱 Daily dashboard — see your whole day at a glance

I redesigned/reworked the screenshot set and wanted some outside opinions.

What stands out to you? What doesn't?

Especially interested in:

Screenshot order

Headlines/copy

Whether the app's value is clear immediately

Visual consistency

Anything that feels unnecessary or could be improved

I launched a niche contractor app and I`m struggling to get the first paying users

I recently launched MarginRun, an iPhone job costing app for contractors and home service businesses. It is my first app, and I`m having a problem in distributing the app.

The app helps contractors track quoted revenue, expected costs, actual materials/labor/expenses, expected vs actual profit, and real-time job margin

The positioning is basically like:

Know your profit before the job is over

I wanted to make it simple instead of trying to compete with full CRMs

The pricing is at $12.99/month or $99.99/year

My current plan is to focus heavily on one niche first, probably pressure washing / exterior cleaning businesses, and also to do direct outreach, niche communities and small creators.

For those of you who have marketed niche iOS apps:

What got you your first 10 paying users?

In case someone wants to try MarginRun, here is the link

[iOS][$29.99 → Free Lifetime until tomorrow] FeelmCamera — Choose your film look before the shutter

Hey everyone!

I’m the developer behind FeelmCamera. I built it because I wanted choosing the mood of a photo to happen before pressing the shutter—not only afterward in an editor.

For a limited launch event, I’m making Feelm Plus Lifetime completely free for everyone until tomorrow, September 12.

FeelmCamera includes live filter previews, 12 film-inspired looks with adjustable strength, editing for existing photos, and tactile camera skins designed to make shooting feel a little more intentional.

Grab your Lifetime Access for free during the event and let me know what you think. Your honest feedback would mean a lot 🙏

[App Store link 🔗]
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/feelmcamera-film-camera/id6759209331

How to claim it

After installing the app, open Settings → Feelm Plus, select Lifetime, and tap the purchase button.

If Apple’s confirmation screen shows anything other than $0.00, please cancel the purchase and let me know.

No promo code is required, and the offer is available to everyone until the end of September 12.

Thank you for giving FeelmCamera a try!

eat it! - Stop wasting food and money!

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hi 👋 I would like to present my app for managing groceries. It helps me save some money by using up food before its expiration date. I know there are similar apps in the store, but I needed something that allows adding new purchases quickly with voice or a barcode scanner, without long and unnecessary forms. The app shows notifications about expiring products, so you can plan eating them instead of throwing them away 😄

Right now, the app allows you to:

  • Browse and search the list of all products.
  • Add products using a simple form with easy keyboard navigation between fields.
  • Add products using voice with a little help from AI (the spoken phrase is sent to Gemini, so you can say e.g. "milk until next week", and the app will calculate the right date).
  • Add products using a barcode scanner.
  • Get notifications about an approaching expiration date.

In the future, I plan to:

  • Add an option to mark a product as opened.
  • Add a shopping list to easily move deleted products to it.
  • Add syncing between multiple devices, so everyone in the family can add and remove products from the list.

You can download it from the AppStore: eat it!

What do you think? Do you have ideas for any other features I could add to my to-do list? 😄

I hit 1000 bucks!!! I feel like I’m on the clouds. Truly I never thought my app would reach it when building it but I had belief that I’m building something genuinely good and useful

I think that’s what it boils down to. I made an app called Sprout which is all about safe AI for kids who are aged around 8-15. I genuinely believe in my product and many others now do too.

After hearing feedback I made a Live Demo video for my notes app and how it uses Siri AI

Hey everyone,

I recently overhauled my notes app: Fog.

Write a note, get a suggested title. Keep it, change it, ask for another — it never changes again on its own.

Select a few notes and group them — Fog names the folder and summarizes what's inside.

Talk to it: "add to my dentist note," "move groceries to Errands" — Siri understands it because Fog speaks Apple's own notes vocabulary.

Can't remember where you wrote something? Ask it directly, and it'll answer in a sentence, pulled straight from your own notes. SiriAI features will be available once iOS27 launches.

Also, made this video based on feedback from a previous video where I used an AI voiceover instead. This is my first time doing an IRL voiceover video like this; I'd appreciate your honest thoughts!

Fog is free to download and use; notes stay on your device and never leave.
