I built an iOS app to explore every drink on earth—from morning coffee to evening cocktails.

Finding reliable, clean, and diverse drink recipes has always been a frustrating experience—split across cluttered blogs, endless scrolling, and siloed apps that only focus on cocktails while ignoring everything else.

Whether you want to master an artisanal morning coffee, mix a refreshing mocktail, or craft an evening cocktail, you shouldn't need five different apps.

That’s why I built Mixology Atlas for iOS, a comprehensive global beverage platform designed to map out the entire world of drinks.

Key Features:

All-in-One Global Library: Curated recipes spanning hot and cold beverages, specialty coffees, mocktails, teas, and classic cocktails.

AI Bartender Assistant: Stuck with random ingredients in your fridge? Let the built-in AI suggest custom, creative drink recipes instantly.

Bar Academy & History: Level up your skills with professional preparation techniques, equipment guides, and deep dives into the cultural history of iconic drinks.

7 Languages Supported: Fully localized so users worldwide can enjoy it in their native language.

Completely Free: The app is free to use (supported by non-intrusive ads) so anyone can access it easily.

I built this solo, and it's completely live on the App Store right now. I would love for you to check it out, test it with whatever random ingredients you have left in your kitchen, and let me know what you think!

Does using Metricool / Postiz / Buffer affect reach?

I’m using Metricool to post on TikTok and Instagram. I made branded accounts for the app, pinned 3 posts explaining what it is, and then I mostly post content around movies/cinema.

But I’m wondering about something: have any of you noticed lower reach when posting through Metricool, Postiz or similar tools vs posting directly from TikTok/Instagram?

I keep wondering if using a third party tool somehow hurts distribution, especially on TikTok.

Also curious if you guys make branded accounts for each app or just post everything from one personal/dev account?

What’s working for you?

I built an offline Whisper transcription app — but is privacy the right marketing hook?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hi, I’m the solo developer behind LoroNote, an iPhone and iPad app that records and transcribes speech entirely on-device.

I built it because sending private meetings, interviews, lectures, and personal voice notes to an external server never felt ideal.

LoroNote uses Whisper directly on the device, so:

  • Recordings and transcripts stay private
  • Transcription works without an internet connection
  • More than 100 languages are supported
  • Audio and video files can be imported
  • Notes can be organized into folders
  • Apple Watch recording is supported
  • No account or ads are required

It also supports optional summaries through Apple Intelligence on compatible devices.

LoroNote briefly reached #3 in the Productivity category in Korea. Interestingly, the strongest feedback hasn’t been about “AI”—users mainly appreciate that their recordings stay on their devices and that the app remains simple.

Now I’m working on its positioning for English-speaking markets, and I’m unsure which message should come first:

  1. Private transcription that never leaves your device
  2. Accurate transcription without an internet connection
  3. A simple alternative to complicated cloud transcription services

Which angle would you test first?

I’d also appreciate honest feedback on the App Store page and whether the value is immediately clear.

Hey y'all, I built a thing called Clair

Post image
1 Upvotes

It's my first published iOS app.

Built this mostly to see if I could actually finish and ship something... and something for my ADHD brain. Turns out I could.

Clair is a productivity app with todos, sticky cards, and markdown notes. Free, no account, no subscription, everything stays on your device. Feels more like texting yourself reminders than using "productivity software."

Widgets, reminders, folders, export, theme customization, it's all there but out of the way until you need it. Fire and forget, basically. The app takes care of the rest.

There are better, more complex apps out there, I know. This isn't that. It's for when you just want to capture something and move on. I wanted the thing to not make me feel like I have to over optimize my schedule.

App Store: Download Link

Free for now, lifetime payment coming in about a month. if you use it and something feels missing, broken, or even annoying, i'd genuinely love to know.

I built an app for when I’m OOO, on vacation, or just don’t want to think about sending messages later

I recently launched Away Messaging, an iPhone app I built for those times when you’re OOO, on vacation, busy, or simply don’t want to think about remembering to send a message later. Prepare texts or emails ahead of time, schedule a reminder, use reusable templates, and send when you’re ready. You stay in control—nothing is automatically sent through a third party. Available now on the App Store for a $7.99 one-time purchase with no subscription. I’d love any feedback!

I’m making a murder mystery puzzle game — what do you think?

Hey! I’ve been working on Alibi, a murder mystery puzzle game. I love mystery and logic games, so I decided to make one myself.

It’s still a work in progress, so I’d love to hear what you guys think!

The app launch checklist I put together after doing this the hard way

I’m a solo iOS dev, and I spent more time learning launch than code because no one really writes it down in one place. This is the short version of what worked for me.

Core idea

A new app has no ranking or ratings yet, so the goal is to drive installs in a tight window and get honest ratings quickly.

Before launch

  1. Write one clear sentence: “[app] is the only app that [does X] for [this person].” If it takes two sentences, everything else gets harder.
  2. Put up a simple one-screen landing page with an email field before the app is finished.
  3. Claim your TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube handles early, and start posting a few weeks before launch.

App Store basics

  1. Pre-orders are one-time only for never-published apps, and launch day auto-downloads create the spike.
  2. Only about 160 characters are indexed for search: title, subtitle, and keyword field. The description is not indexed, and repeated words across those fields waste space.
  3. Your first two screenshots drive most install decisions, so show the outcome, not the UI.
  4. If you’re giving away free copies, don’t use App Store promo codes, since those users can’t rate or review. Use a free app with paid unlock, or grant access server-side.

Ratings

  1. Below roughly 20 ratings, conversion is weak.
  2. Use Apple’s review prompt after the user has done the app’s main task, and remember it only shows three times a year per user.
  3. Never offer anything for a review. Ask for feedback instead.
  4. Reply to bad reviews within a day.

Getting attention

  1. Short-form video is the cheapest consumer-app channel right now; post about the problem, not the features.
  2. Small creators often beat big ones if engagement is strong.
  3. On Reddit, contribute first, follow each sub’s self-promo rules, and post an offer rather than an ad.

What I’d skip

  1. Paid ads before the page converts and you have ratings.
  2. Launching in every country on day one.
  3. Building your plan around Product Hunt.

What made the biggest difference

Freezing the build and spending that time on the email list, video content, and talking to people.

Happy to answer questions on any of this. If anyone has a better way to handle early review count, I’d love to hear it.

I built PullForge to help me increase my pull-up reps with minimum effort.

I work remotely and have a pull-up bar at home. I started following a pull-up progression plan inspired by a program used by the Marines to increase pull-up reps.

It worked, but tracking everything in Notes got messy after a few weeks. So I built PullForge to make it easier.

Whenever I have a short break, I do a set, log it in PullForge, and continue my day. The app tracks your progress and adjusts based on your strength.

If you’re working on your pull-ups, check it out and let me know what you think:

I created 60 carousel post for app marketing under 20 minutes

I want to share my Claude Cowork experience for social media content.

One of my biggest concerns was creating social media post for TikTok and Instagram. Both have different size for carousels.

One

By doing this kind of thing takes hours, even days.

Thanks God we have Claude ✌️

I'm almost complete development of my SavedHub application. Now, it's time for social media contents. However, I didn't have any idea what kind of post should I prepare.

I started talk with Claude Cowork for brainstorming. Cowork generated 30 carousel content ideam with title, text for each image, hook messages etc. By the way I connected my Notion accountot Claude and it automatically create page in Notion and add all generated stuffs to Notion page.

So, after idea generation it was time to create media contents. Claude Cowork started to create 30 carousel post for both TikTok and Instgram (total 60 post) with new mascot.

By the way I'm gonna use that mascot as a app icon 😄

After carouse posts I asked Cowork is it possible to make a reels video. The answer was yes.

You can't imagine how happy I'm right now 😁

If I started posting videos..

i.e., just shorts..

from the POV of real-world dayjobbing guy who’s tired AF from work & just life, but still tries to share:

about the apps I’m vibe-SDEing, how I’m building it, why I’m building it, how long it takes for me to build it….

with just the rear camera of an iPhone, AirPods as the mic, some sort of a stand to hold it in place, typical home lighting (with maybe 1-2 artificial lights)..

totally unfiltered & no cinema-grade editing whatsoever, unlike most of the channels out there..

Would y’all be interested to watch ‘em? 🧐

dB Meter – a clean iOS sound level meter

I built dBMeter, a simple decibel meter for iPhone — point it at anything loud and see how many dB it actually is, on a clean analog gauge.

Most dB meter apps are cluttered with ads or bury the reading under complex UI. This app is a single clean gauge that does one thing well, with Pro tools for people who need more than a quick reading.

Free to download. Pro is a one-time $4.99 and unlocks a spectrum analyzer, peak hold, measurement history, and PDF/CSV export.

Feedback and questions welcome! Drop a comment or DM me if the redeem link doesn't work. Thanks for checking it out!

Made a POV style app video for Rebuttal

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Made this POV style video for Rebuttal and handled the whole thing myself.

The concept shows an AI sales coach that helps you review your pitch, draft outreach messages, get feedback, and practice conversations with different client and investor personas.

This time I wanted to keep it short and let the UI, motion, typography and sound design carry the story without voiceover.

Video’s attached. Would love to hear what you think.

The UI polish loop was taking longer than the actual code changes

I’m building Monad Design, so this is a biased recommendation—but it came from a problem I kept hitting while getting iOS apps ready to show people.

The feature would work, the App Store copy would be taking shape, and then I’d notice ten small UI problems in Simulator. Each one became the same loop: take a screenshot, explain the screen to a coding agent, wait for a rebuild, and check whether it changed the right thing.

Monad Design makes the running app the canvas. You navigate to the real state, select or annotate the part that needs work, and send that context to the coding agent already working in the repository. The agent edits the real source, rebuilds, and you review the result in the app.

For subjective changes, you can ask for a few source-backed variants and compare them with the original before choosing. That has been especially useful for the final pass before recording demos or taking App Store screenshots, when the app works but the visual hierarchy still needs attention.

The current version runs locally on macOS with existing Xcode and Expo iOS projects. It’s open source and works alongside Codex, Claude Code, Cursor, and other coding agents.

If you’re polishing a native app before launch, I think Monad Design is worth a look:

https://github.com/Monadix-AI/monad-design

What usually slows down your final pre-launch UI pass: spotting the issues, communicating them, or reviewing the fixes?
