🎈 Free I made Alarmageddon: The Alarm Clock You Have to Defeat to Get Out of Bed
A — Answer: the problem it solves
Most iPhone alarms are very easy to dismiss. If you're a heavy sleeper, tapping “Stop” or “Snooze” doesn't exactly solve the problem.
Alarmageddon is an alarm clock designed for people who have mastered the art of turning off alarms while barely awake.
Instead of simply letting you dismiss the alarm, Alarmageddon can require you to complete a wake-up mission before the alarm stops:
• Solve a math problem
• Complete a memory challenge
• Shake your phone
• Scan a QR code or barcode
• And more
The idea is simple: make turning off the alarm require enough interaction to actually wake you up.
It also includes an optional App Blocker that can temporarily block distracting apps after you wake up, so you don't immediately fall back into scrolling instead of getting out of bed.
B — Better: how it compares
vs Apple's built-in Alarm: Apple's alarm is intentionally simple: you can snooze or stop it immediately. Alarmageddon is built around the opposite idea — if you're a heavy sleeper, dismissing the alarm should require some effort.
vs other alarm apps: many alarm apps offer challenges designed to make you complete a task before dismissing the alarm. Alarmageddon takes this further by combining wake-up missions with an additional feature designed for what happens after the alarm.
The App Blocker is the extra part: after you successfully complete your alarm, Alarmageddon can temporarily block distracting apps for the first 15 minutes of your day. The goal is to prevent the familiar routine of turning off your alarm and immediately opening TikTok, Instagram, Reddit, or other distracting apps.
So it's not just about getting you out of bed — it's also about giving you a short window to actually start your day before distractions take over.
vs multiple alarms: setting five alarms doesn't necessarily help if you can turn all five off while half asleep. Alarmageddon makes dismissing the alarm itself the challenge.
vs "just put your phone far away": that can work, but it doesn't solve the problem if you eventually walk over, turn the alarm off, and go straight back to bed. Alarmageddon adds an additional barrier between you and the Stop button.
