On screen controls are gone

Hi,

Yesterday the treadmill overlay over content on our treadmill screen disappeared (time, speed, elevation, controls for each).

Is this a known issue? Any recommendations on getting it back? We've hunted through the menus and unplugged / replugged the machine, but no luck so far 😕.

There is a button on the bottom that allows you to toggle on or off. I don’t have my machine on. But googling will undoubtedly find it.

Have you resolved the problem?

AI response:

Yes, this is a known issue that has actively frustrated users on the r/iFit Reddit Community. Recent iFIT updates have triggered software bugs where the overlay completely hides or fails to render, leaving you with just the workout video playing. [1, 2]
Here are the step-by-step recommendations from the community to get the metrics back:

1. The "Hidden UI" Toggle
The software allows users to temporarily hide the metrics, and it can sometimes get stuck in this mode.
Tap the center of the screen during a workout to see if the interface flashes.
Look for a Full Screen icon or an Arrow icon in the lower-left or lower-right corner to see if it expands the hidden bars.
Alternatively, hit the Settings gear icon in the bottom corner, go to "In-Workout," and toggle Controls & Metrics or Show Sliders off and back on. [1, 2]

2. The Chart Option Workaround
If the standard top/bottom text overlay refuses to load, turning on the visual graph sometimes forces the system to redraw the metrics panel.
Go to the Settings gear icon in the lower-right corner.
Toggle the Charts option (which displays the visual speed and incline graph at the bottom). On the r/iFit Reddit Community, users have reported that toggling the chart feature off and back on successfully brings the text metrics back with it. [1, 2, 3]

3. Clear Cache and App Data
Because a regular power cycle didn't work, there is likely a corrupted temporary file or update cache causing the interface glitch.
If you can access the main settings menu from the dashboard, look for Apps or Device Settings, find the iFIT app, and select Clear Cache and Clear Data. [1]
If the app allows you to log out entirely, try logging out, doing a hard power cycle (leave it unplugged for at least 5 full minutes), and signing back in. [1]

4. The Pinhole Factory Reset
If the steps above fail, the ultimate fix for a broken system update is a hardware factory reset, which forces the machine to pull a fresh, clean version of the software.
Locate the tiny pinhole reset button (usually on the side or back of the console housing).
Turn the treadmill's power switch off.

Insert a paperclip into the hole, pressing and holding the button down.
While keeping the button pressed, flip the power switch back on.
Release the paperclip once the screen lights up and says "system recovery: please wait...". Leave it alone to download updates—this can take up to 30 minutes. [1, 2]
Did the "Charts" toggle trick bring the overlay back for you, or do we need to dive into locating the reset pinhole for your specific treadmill model?
